@Pupowl I just started this on Thursday the 26th, so here's the stats for this current week...
SunshineZombieGirl1
Monday weigh-in
PW/SW 175
CW 173.9
And if I could be added for the October Step Challenge (despite the following meager post due to covid), to try for 5000 a day.
Steps
9/29: 1438
9/30: 4838
10/1: 1937
And as an introduction, I'm 49, live in the southwest of US with a couple of black cats and a dog in a tiny house that I designed and mostly tackled alone on the inside. I'm a little bit disabled with epilepsy at the moment, but trying very hard to get back to being healthy. I'm recently divorced and have two very lovely adult sons. I'm a property manager/project manager at a little mobile home park and working on getting my master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I like to make jewelry, sew costumes, read, write, cook and bake, hike, play Beat Saber on my VR, and play board games and Magic the Gathering with my SO. I also play D&D with friends and family.
I don't have a favorite place to walk currently as I live in an area that doesn't have sidewalks, but I want to get back into it as I enjoy walking.5 -

My name is Izzy & I live in England UK.I have we been a member of MFP for about 6 years & a member of this group for I think 3 wonderful years.I got to my goal of 125 lbs in
May 21 then again in April 22. Since then I've struggled to lose consistently & hovered around the 140 lbs mark.
I am 64 years young & live with my hubby & 2 adult sons.I have always been active & I'm a keen walker.I attend my local gym & love the Dance fit classes which I go to 5 times a week.My kitchen is also made for dancing 💃
I have just spent a month in Greece where I didn't log or track my food so now I need to get back on it for October.
@jessicakrall8 I will weigh in this Saturday. Please could you add me to October Step Challenge at 13,000 steps. My favourite place to walk is my local park & along the canal paths.
@izzyred9400 I got you added to the step challenge, but couldn't find your email to send you an email during the past week...need a starting weight for your return...BEFORE your official first weigh in for the month. Please advise on that and they already have you back in the chart with Sat weigh days. Let me know on the SW. Thanks and welcome back Grecian Girl!

I have a beach cruiser bicycle with an internal 3-speed hub that I've been riding a lot for the last couple months. Yesterday, I had a sneezing fit while riding, and I hit a steel bar fence I was riding along side of. I got a minor scrap but more importantly, I busted the "revoshifter" rotary shift lever. That makes it impossible to shift gears, and I was worried it would be difficult or impossible to repair. But late last night (after getting back up because I couldn't sleep), I did some research online. To my surprise, I found the exact shift set for only $25 on one website, but it said I'd have to pick it up in person, and the bike shop is in Idaho! Okay, then I found a few on eBay and several on Amazon. I ordered one on Amazon because it had one-day shipping, so I'll get it tomorrow. What a relief.
Today, I took my brother to UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, so my main exercise was walking around on trails near the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Here's a few photos from that hike. It's hard to imagine these places being just a few hundred feet from the bustling city.7 -
@frankwbrown beautiful photos glad you didn’t get too banged up and that the repair seems like it will be relatively quick.3

@frankwbrown glad you weren't hurt, seems like a great day to drive to Idaho. LOL Love the pictures of the park.5 -
@Pupowl @jessicakrall8 please keep an eye out for my new username. I’m having to change my picture and name to be able to remove myself from an absolutely horrible predator and the most disgusting lewd comments posted in another community challenge I am involved in. I’ve flagged his comments but not sure what else to do. 😞8
-
Never mind.. apparently I can only change my username once and I’ve done so years ago.4
-
@Krysless2 I would suggest contacting support. Maybe they can help you with changing your username. If it is really horrible, I would just make a completely new profile.5

@jessicakrall8 My first name is Kate.

Tuesday I powered up the Wii, it reminded me it had been over 5500 days since I had checked in. I read a post by someone, somewhere on mfp that talked about using theirs and thought I can do that. I plan to do 3 songs from Just Dance 2 and some balance games from wii fit on days I don’t attend exercise class.
Wednesday attended Strong Seniors.
Both days walked outside. Wednesday morning there was frost on the roof and lawn but warmed up to the 50sF/10sC. Came across this on my walk was happy for the splash of color.
Welcome @sunshinezombiegirl1 !
@Krysless2 i’m sorry your dealing with such nastiness when you should be able to just focus on all the progress you are obviously making on the items you are tracking.
@LenGray smart to add movement to your daily routine. I admire that you get inspired to bake I usually just get inspired to eat. I did make whole wheat bread last week, well i dumped the ingredients into the bread machine….
@izzyred9400 what a wonderful way to spend a month!
@globalhiker way to hit those daily goals
@Pupowl I miss seeing your pictures and reading about your day.6 -
@p8m6bwghh9 Using a Wii sounds like a really fun way to get some movement in. I get bored super fast doing youtube workouts. I have had a couple of lazy days because I woke up with a nasty headache every morning, so my last walk was with my dad on Sunday. I plan to go out again tomorrow morning though! It is not good for me to be cooped up inside.6
-
@jessicakrall8 sorry got my dates mixed up.I was travelling back on the 29th so not many steps 4,725.
I sent you an email this morning so will be able to find it next time.I couldn't figure what you meant when you said see you in the SW & then it came to me "Starting weight ! "' 😀
As I've not logged in for a month I've reset my starting weight to 147 lbs .That was my weight when I first stepped on the scale after eating & drinking all the lovely Greek food & wine & not to forget chocolate & peanut butter ice cream !!
@p8m6bwghh9 it was wonderful thank you.
@frankwbrown sorry to hear about your bike accident.Glad it didn't do too much damage to yourself or your bank balance.
It's been interesting to read all the new members intros & some good motivational posts.Shape Shifters are great ,sharing is caring 🩷3 -

Hello Shape Shifters 🙋♀️

Happy the scale is moving in the right direction, however small the increment. It's progress. Have a wedding tomorrow and it's 2 hours away so there's 2 challenges in one. Does it seem to y'all like I spend all my time in the car? 🤷♀️ It does to me. 😕 Have a great day everyone!!7 -

I’m glad you and your bike recovered well @frankwbrown. It’s nice that you can support your brother on the drive to San Francisco, too. You get to catch up with one another during the drive and then you can enjoy one of the hikes you like — way to maximize your time!

Friday Weigh in
PW: 154.4
CW: 153.3
Loss: 1.1
I'm super happy with this loss. I've been working hard. I've started going to the gym again, and am trying to track my food, although this has been less than perfect. It's very rewarding to see the scale move.9 -

Yesterday was a rest day. I'm hoping to do a few longer runs this weekend, so I wanted to rest my legs.4 -
Welcome to all the new members of our Shape Shifter team!
Today, I was planning to drive about 30 minutes to the Occoquan River, where the water is calmer than the Potomac River and sculling is a little easier:
https://www.novaparks.com/parks/sandy-run-regional-park
Instead, I lingered a little too long with my coffee. I didn’t want to rush to a call I have to join later this morning so I abandoned my rowing plan. I’ll enjoy sculling on Sunday when I can carve out more uninterrupted time. Happy Friday, everyone!

Happy to see the scale finally budge! Nothing special to report other than basic food tracking, portion control when I know tracking is going to be inaccurate and trying to prioritize protein. Going to try to make egg white bites in my instant pot this weekend. If you have a go-to recipe, I'd love to try it!6 -

October week 1
Weigh in day: Friday, October 4
PW: 257.3 lbs
CW: 256.0 lbs (↓1.3 lbs; 0.51%)
Starting off this month with a good loss. Now I just need to continue this all month long.7 -
Thursday steps - 2,313
Terrible, I know! I am sick with a cold and this morning just broke out into a major sweat so hopefully it's a fever breaking. I want to be healthy for the weekend!7 -
Week 1 Weigh-in!
Friday
SW: 257.2 lbs
CW: 254.7 lbs
I'm pretty happy with my first official weigh-in. There were a few days where I felt pretty hungry, but overall, I think I did a great job managing my diet and adding movement Right now, my main challenge is identifying when my hunger is actual hunger and when it's just me being thirsty or bored. I'm also really proud of myself for keeping my movement levels up even though I had several high pain days this week.
This weekend is going to be pretty busy, since I'm getting both a piercing, a new hair cut/dye, AND meeting up with my writing group. I'm really excited, but also really nervous! I'm also going to aim to go for a bike ride this Sunday, weather permitting
