Wed: Well I took a few vacation days and am already at my folks house as we have things that need to be done. I am really hoping to get everything done today at their home so I can get things done at my house too. We have had some beautiful weather but I am expecting rain while I am off as it is my vacation mojo this year that brings rain. Found out that swim in the summer is later in the morning so is going to be harder to work around work to go. I have a coworker who has graciously said she will do my openings so I can swim. LOL she was all oh yeah I will take the extra hours let me help you. I laughed and said okay.
Thurs: Well if you get up early enough you can get almost everything done. I was outside by 6 am and weeded the garden for a few hours. Took Sweet Pea to the vet for her yearly physical. Did my parents grocery shopping. Moved furniture at my folks. I took a nap. Tomorrow is another day. Next time I take some vacation time I'm not telling my mom. I need time to rest.

@SweetPeasMom55 WOW, you have gotten so much done very early!! That is very nice of your coworker to help you at work so you can swim!! Are you going to do that? I hated it when the pool changed its hours, but every summer they rightfully used it with the summer program the city runs there. That was when they also did the heavy maintenance of the hot tub. i loved going into the hot tub, then right into the pool. Does yours?

@Dianedoessmiles1 Our pool is a brand new olympic size pool. Only a few years old it was agreed to build right before the pandemic. Took the whole pandemic plus a year to get it done. We don't have a hot tub but it is handicap accessible with a ramp. Our Rec dept does run it in the summer and thus the hours get changed. Oh most definitely I am going to take my co-worker up on it. She did the Oh darn if I work for you I won't be able to swim. I said to her thanks for taking one for the team.☺️ I've asked her to come with me for what feels like forever.
Its hot and sticky here. Hubby had me run home for a few hours to get things in order for the furnace guys. I needed to go up in the attic and fix stuff. Why does my husband ask me to go into the attic when it's either 90+ degrees or a blizzard outside. I came down a hot drippy mess and put on some comfy but really unattractive clothes. He said you're just going right back to your folks? I said nope I need to run in and grab something for dinner. If people can wear short shorts I can wear some obnoxious flowy pants.
When I was a teenager, I had these hot pink overalls that were a light material and very roomy. I said I love those pants, so I went online and found a khaki pair. I am hoping I love them as much as I did. I decided to get them on Ebay, so it was an under 15. purchase.
My daughter asked me to go with her to one of her speaking engagements. It will be in oct or nov and she will fly into Buffalo and then we will take my car and drive 4 hours. I told my hubby he will have to be on standby for my folks. It's not at a place that can afford to pay a lot for travel. As I had agreed to loan my car even before knowing I could attend. The person at the University was like would your mom like to see you in action ? I wrote and said if he's serious Yes! Now I have another incentive to drop some more weight. I'm just going for 5lbs to get me back to where I was before the steroids. Plus, as my daughter has been away from winter driving, I feel better being with her just in case. I will have stuff in the car in case of emergency, and I have triple AAA.
I reached out to my sister and said I hooked up her air conditioner to the bedroom as I am melting. Her husband and her called back to make sure I did everything correctly. Now it's ready when my brother comes into town.
I don't know how everyone in the southern states deals with this hot humid weather. I am definitely a pants and turtleneck person.

@Dianedoessmiles1 I was just thinking about how when I was young nobody had air conditioning. Everyone went to the mountains for a week to cool off. Went to the local beaches and lived on popsicles. Not even fruit popsicles they were The big box of cherry,grape and orange flavored popsicles. Do they even make those anymore? We only had one box fan to cool our house. How did we ever manage?

@macrat12 SO SORRY with the heat headache!! Hope you feel better. I can't keep where everyone lives straight, I'm in the northeast (US) we are too HOT for me!! Other than hopping in a car, I am INSIDE with the AC running.
@SweetPeasMom55 Ohhh I ADORE the mountains!! But I live on the ocean, harbor. As a kid, I shared my bedroom under duress (LOL, usually a visitor). There would be 2 of us in the room on the 2nd floor, we each had a box fan. It was HOT up there!! I remember calling the "time and temp" number, 207 775 4321 was the local number all kids in our area learned first. LOL!! If the temp got up to 72 on the weekend, or my mom's day off, we could go to the beach. LOL There were 8 of us kids, you can be guaranteed we started at 8 AM and kept trying until it hit 72 to GO!! We'd either go to the ocean or a lake, usually the ocean. It was nearby. There was also a community pool we could go to, and we did almost every day between the 4th grade and the 7th grade. After that, I had other things to do (MALL! WOOHOO!! AC!!) YUMMY Orange Julius! That place was amazing! They do still make the popsicles as they used to. They also do "weird" flavors (Ewww watermelon!) I liked the 3 you mentioned.1 -
@nrdevers I have the premium subscription and paid the extra $20 this year for the meal plan subscription but have not used it yet because the meal plan is only accessible on the app so I can't use it on my laptop. I may try on my tablet in the next few weeks though.

Rule was at our house no swimming till school was over. But we could run in the rain. Do kids even do that? I don't remember my daughter ever doing it. Granted we didn't have computers or video games. I used to hate weeding as a kid but love it as an adult. I love the quietness of just weeding early in the morning before the neighbors wake up.
The number my sister dialed non stop was dial a prayer. Lol she would tie up the party line with prayers.

LOLOL The most heard phrase you hear here now is "OSSCCCARRRR!!" He's an orange kitty, so full of energy (I can't say Izzy always appreciates that, but yet, she does many times. They get along well. Now).
@macrat12, Sarah, today we hit 90, yesterday beat all records at 99. I'd rather NOT have those temps again. Or if I do, maybe I can hit the beach! LOL I am not sure if any of my friends would enjoy that, but I'll find out!!! Hope the next 2 weeks will go as well as they can. Please, take care.

Thinking of everyone with cats today. I purchased a few toys for the cats in my life. I took in all the stuff and before I had all the bags in my moms cat snuggs was in the bag picking out what she wanted. Now this cat doesn't play with toys. She just hordes them. My mom kept saying you need to share. She was like hell no! That woman dropped a tums on my head. I get as many as I want.

First day of swim and the pool was loaded. I don't mind the people in the pool it's a busy locker room that bothers me. The locker room is tiny. Maybe 9x12 one shower.
I'm totally comfortable in say my underwear and bra. Totally naked not so much I am comfortable if everyone's just getting dressed all facing the lockers. Nope we had a bunch of wanders and those that face everyone's behind. What bothered me the most was a lady said. I always thought you wore Spanx. But your butt is really toned. OMG 😲 I didn't answer. I am the generation where you don't comment on strangers bodies in the locker room. Lol

In HS I heard a lot worse. It was an inner city school. I was bussed in. My Mom thought it was a good idea for us and I agreed.

@littlegumnut You are quite an inspiration, and you have an amazing can-do attitude. I wish I could do gardening, but I don't want to "do the work". 😆 When I was young, my goal was to become a Mathematician. I later got bit my the compute bug, so my career was in computer programming, but I never lost my love for mathematics. I have a Garmin Fenix as well, and it over-estimates my calories burned as well. In my case, I think it's because I have an arrhythmia that throws in some extra beats here and there.

I took a class at a wellness center about how bad sugar is for you. Did they convince me to give up sugar? Nope I went home to my pudding cup. I had it plain without redi whip. I guess it did influence me. Lol

@Dianedoessmiles1 You can imagine they have an image on the screen of all the food I have eaten recently. Then ask what's wrong with the Oreo. I said certainly nothing with the chocolate. The room gasped. Then she said have you eaten these items? I said why yes I have. She goes oh my it's lucky your not dead. Lol as with everything I take everything with a grain of salt. Then I thought I need a pudding cup and if I'm lucky I will die in blissful chocolate pudding cup happiness.

I've let the ladies know earlier I was having issues with my old account it said that I joined at 12:30 my time today when I'd been using that account since 2016. I did contact twice customer support but have yet to hear back to get the issue resolved.
