HOW IT ALL WORKS: The June challenge runs for five weeks, from June 29th - August 2nd.

Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leader board. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get July on the road! 😎

    Welcome to July 2025 🌞

    I am Lauren, co-captain along with @ashleycarole86

I am 39 years old and from North Carolina, USA. I have been on a weight loss journey most of my adult life. I have done a lot of the yo-yo thing, losing a lot of weight in 2012 and then gaining it back. Over the last few years, I seem to be gaining and losing the same 10-15 pounds.

June was an ok month. I basically maintained and gained 0.6 pounds overall. My goal for July is to lose 5 pounds by tracking every day, getting 7,000 steps daily, and continuing on my 5k training plan.

    Some helpful information/tools:

    Posting your daily updates
We know from experience that posting daily (or as often as you can!) makes a huge difference to your success. Use any format you like to let everyone know how you are doing on your daily goals and habits. You can report on food, exercise, water, sleep, or whatever you are tracking and trying to stick with. While you're there, talk about how you are, ask questions, and if you can answer someone else, please do! Congratulate others, commiserate, enjoy someone's rant, or go ahead and rant yourself. It all helps make the kind of community where we are in each others' heads when the hand is reaching for that off-plan snack, or the couch is feeling way too inviting...

    Weighing in
Please try to weigh in on time (but don't sweat it if you have to use a different day sometimes)! Put your weigh in at the TOP of a message, so it is clear and easy to find. If you cannot post your weight for whatever reason, you can request a week off, or if you need a longer break, you can be moved to the "Support Team" where you still participate but your weigh-ins will not be part of the weekly tally. This is where members who are ill, on vacation, or just needing a break can hang out for as long as needed.

    The F2F Habit Tracker
If you want a simple place to track your most important habits, give this a try:

    July Habit Tracker

So everyone, tell us a bit about you, your goals, what steps you are going to work on. It's fun to know your name and where you live (if you're willing to share that), what brought you here, how your weight loss journey has been, and where you are headed now. We all have information to share, things we can learn, and lean on each other as a team for a successful month!

    Step Challenge

I am also leading the step challenge until @ashleycarole86 returns. If you are interested in tracking your steps, just let me know and I will add you to the team. I will also need a goal for how many steps per day you are aiming for. Then, either post every day or once a week with your steps!

    Hello Friends,

Here's my re-introduction for everyone. I'm Yinka, turning 62 on Tuesday and remarkably chipper about it. I live in Bewdley (a pretty little Georgian town in Worcestershire, UK). I am married and live with my husband. We have a son who is married and living in the USA with his wife. I work as a digital skills tutor and English language teacher for people learning English as a second language. If truth be told, I have been struggling with my weight for more than 10 years and I thought that I had it licked until the menopause came along.

I am now going down a protein-focused diet and it seems to be very gradually working (in conjunction with my regular exercise sessions). But I have finally come to the decision that I need to do more research on how the menopause really.

    My targets this month are:

    1. To log my food every day.
    2. Read this group's posts each day.
    3. Drink 2 litres of water a day.
    4. Achieve 8000 steps a day.

    @YinxFed Happy early birthday! 🥳

@stephanodda welcome to the team! Let me know if you have any questions. That is amazing you are 9 months sober! Are you growing anything besides tomatoes?

What does it mean to be in the green?

    Hello hello -

Catching up on the end of last month's chat - @micki48 that garden/park you found to walk in is AWESOME!! I am such a sucker for a water feature. Really hope my future home has a dramatic water fountain like that 😂

I'm Kay, 30, single, no pets, living in Brookline MA (right near Boston), working in finance, and continually struggling with binge eating, emotional eating, and being consistent with workouts.

I just (9 min ago) finished my 6 week workout challenge - mentally jumping up and down but absolutely too exhausted to move. even my fingers are kind of shaking. this coming week will be a deload week, which this app also programs for me after finishing a challenge. then comes the hard part - what next. What schedule can I design and stick to, without the structure of the 6 week challenges? TBD.

I had some friends in town this weekend which was soooo good. Love to see them and catch up and laugh. But it was also so much food and wine. Definitely feeling the bloat today. And @lauren_989 I was already napping when you posted above about maybe taking a nap lol. Steps for last week of June below!!

    • 6/22: 7536
    • 6/23: 7492 + 32 min HIIT (metcon protocol)
    • 6/24: 7825 + 29 min dance cardio
    • 6/25: 7052 + 45 min cardio/strength combo (55 rep challenge pyramids)
    • 6/26: 7238
    • 6/27: 9943 + 55 min total body strength
    • 6/28: 8106 + 60 min kayaking

@lauren_989 oh and I forgot, I was on the support team for June, but I'll be back to regular WIs this month - just not this week, because I'll be out of town for the US holiday starting Wed. Can we make my starting weight for the month 256.7 lbs? (blehhh). thank you!!

@stephanodda welcome! "in the green" means a loss from the prior week (of any amount!). so 4 weeks in the green means a team member came down on the scale precipitously the whole month, which is impressive.

I'm Jackie, 35F, and I live in Michigan, USA. I'm married with 2 kids (a 3yo, (almost 4yo) son and a 1yo daughter), and I also work part time as a mental health counselor.

I gained quite a bit of weight during my last pregnancy and while breastfeeding, and now that I'm done with that phase of life I'm ready to put my weight loss goals toward the top of my priority list.

I have PCOS which can make weight loss a bit tricky, but I believe I have the tools I need to be successful. I resumed my weight loss journey a little over a month ago, and eith the support of this team I've been making slow and steady progress!

My goals for July are the same as last month:

•Stay in the green every week

•120+ minutes of exercise each week

    •Log my food intake daily

    •Post in here most days

I look forward to seeing how we all do this month!

    PW 266.3 lbs
    CW 264.9 lbs

I don't know how that's possible after the week I had, but I'm not complaining! I weighed myself 3 times because I didn't believe it lol. My guess is all the swimming and walking (and sweating 🥵) must have balanced out my calorie intake. Yay!

@lauren_989 thank you for taking the time to encourage all of us and keep track of everything, your support has been very valuable!

@micki48 thank you - I got my streak back! I also realized I don't think I answered your question from a few days ago - yes we did see the ducks march from the fountain to their home, and we got to see their home on the rooftop!

    @stephanodda welcome to the team!

@YinxFed if you enjoy reading, a book you may find helpful is the Hormone Repair Manual by Lara Briden ND. It's all about the hormonal changes that we go through during menopause and how best to naturally support your body.

@Alatariel75 oh no that's a bummer! That is 1 thing I don't love about weightloss is having to change my wardrobe. On the plus side, maybe now you can get a new skirt to celebrate your progress!

@ashleycarole86 wow that's a lot of change all at once! I hope you're enjoying it now that you're more settled.

Welcome team! My name is Jolene. I am 39 years old (last time I can say that as my big 4-0 is this Friday?!), and I live in Colorado with my husband and three wonderfully crazy dogs. My full-time job is a desk job in front of the computer. It numbs my brain too much, so I started tending bar part-time at the end of April.

I have been part of this team for a couple of years now and I have done the yo-yo thing the entire time I have been here. The hardest parts for me are avoiding stress or emotional eating, not drinking, and staying motivated. I do love this group and know I wouldn't be down where I am without it.

@ashleycarole86 - WELCOME BACK!! So many changes for you. It is so great to have you back. Unrelated because I know @lauren_989 did a fantastic job, but I would like to join the step challenge again, but increase my daily steps to 7,500. I've been averaging right around there with tending bar part-time, so it seems like an appropriate time to increase the goal.

Saturday, June 28 - 11,710 steps, 2.5 hours of pickleball

Sunday, June 29 - 4,876 steps (I forgot to wear my watch while I did chores for my mom, her friend, and then went shopping. Doh!)

Thanks for the warm welcome back!! And I see some other returning faces like @YinxFed .. how exciting! And new faces i look forward to getting to know.

@micki48 no, my mom is nearing retirement in a couple months and is working remotely so she made the decision to move east to Quebec to live with my brother and sister in law. Her mother lives there too so there's a bit more family for her there, plus they might have kids... so she told us she was going to move at Christmas and left at Easter and then this job for Brad in BC came in March so 2025 has been full of change thus far.

I will be back with my proper intro and @MaddawgMadsen we'll get you down on the step team again!

@iguldi11 thank you so much for the recommendation, I will certainly look for it. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about it.

@micki48 I meant to comment on that wonderful picture that you shared with us of that gorgeous park.

@ashleycarole86 I am so happy to "see" you here. Sounds like you and Brad are on an amazing adventure. I'm looking forward to learning more about it.

So, I had a rather busy day today. I did a big grocery shop because we're co-hosting a big barbecue at the weekend. I've done some laundry, I've prepped supper (and lunch for tomorrow). And finally, I have done a mandatory training course for work.

Oh - and I had a hilarious face time session with my son!

And now I'm going to bed before MFP fails me and zaps all of my work (a frequent occurrence when I use my phone).

    Night all !
