Woo, it feels good to be back on track :)
I had a bittersweet NSV yesterday, I have these 2 really cute skirts that I've been holding onto, waiting to fit back into them and… I missed it haha. I missed window and they're too big, and they're not worth having altered. BOO!

Awwww, that's a fantastic, but yes bittersweet, NSV, Al/alateriel. Congratulations !!

Hello hello - …I just (9 min ago) finished my 6 week workout challenge - mentally jumping up and down but absolutely too exhausted to move. even my fingers are kind of shaking. this coming week will be a deload week, which this app also programs for me after finishing a challenge. then comes the hard part - what next. What schedule can I design and stick to, without the structure of the 6 week challenges? TBD.

Woohoooo, Kay/kali225, well done, you! So inspiring.

Hi there, Happy July. I am Vikki 53, Baltimore MD, married , 3 grown kids, 1 moved back a few months ago after 6 years in the military, he is currently job hunting and needs to hurry up about it cause he's on my last nerve….

LOL Vikki/gidgitcgoescrzy, I couldn't help, I laughed at 'needs to hurry up about it cause he's on my last nerve … " lol Good luck to him, and <3 his service. Also, massive support for your quit goal! Did that a few times, it ain't any easier on repeat, I know (but at least you have the benefit of knowing you can succceed). You got this! 💪

Yesterday was a successful and productive day, I managed to have vegetables with each meal (I struggle to get veggies in with breakfast) and I got a lot of housework done which counts as physical activity for me. I also did some speech therapy work with my son, something I need to make time for every day.
Today ends my vacation time, I go back to work. Thankfully I enjoy my job so really the only downside is having to wake up early lol.

Congratulatons on your successful day, Jackie/jguldi11 ! Veggies pre-broiled in batches, then smuggled into scrambled eggs (also pre-made in batches), and mic'd for breakfast are one of my favorite ways to get in veg servings :D

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YINKA/yinkxfed !! Xx

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOLENE/maddawgmadson !! Xx

Wow! I am seeing some non-scale victories here! Getting up early to exercise, going to exercise class when you would normally cancel, and eating veggies with every meal! Way to go! 😊

Lauren, right!??! Super inspiring in here today. Was just a fun catchup! WTG, Waistaways~! Xx

    Okay, team. Cheerio!

I've felt a bit out of control this week, I have been weaning off the heavier medication I've been on for sleep and while that's going well, it seems to have sapped my willpower a bit and so the evenings have involved wine, and eating more snacks and treats than I should. I've still been hitting my steps and going to the gym though, so it's not all bad. I just need to get my head back in the game.

Tomorrow my bestie and I are going to a gig called Bed by 10 haha, it's a nightclub rave for over 30s former ravers, it starts at 4pm and ends at 9 so we can be in bed by 10. All retro 80s, 90s and early 2000s dance music. I bought up glow sticks LOL.

@ lauren_989 you're going great guns! congrats on onederland!

@Gidgitgoescrzy slowing it down really helped me too, I'm quite wobbly between positions and not trying to keep up with the pros really helped haha. Ugh, nothing worse than the awkward caused by people fighting when they have company, it really does make me wonder why they stay together. Sorry about your sparkies not showing! That's so annoying!!

@ jguldi11 it's so lovely when people notice!! It's super motivating. I know that there's a lot around body positivity these days, and that people are less inclined to comment on someone else's body, especially just in case they're not well or haven't deliberately lost weight, but I do so enjoy when someone notices.

@stephanodda haha how frustrating is it when you get those drops? All in all though I do like weighing daily because otherwise I'd think that the higher weight was where I was at and it would make me disappointed. I guess there's big pros and cons for both!

@cleaneater80 ugh, toxic workplaces are the worst. I'm sorry you're having to deal with that, Public Health is stressful enough without that drama.

@mkksemail yep I go by Steph!

Our AC is on the fritz and it’s hot hot hot here in Minnesota right now. My husband is very stressed and I am stressed because he is stressed. Not great day today with food but giving self a break, just can’t let it become a habit if we’re stuck without AC for a bit. Ugh, this sucks….

  • lauren_989
    lauren_989 Posts: 3,095 Member

@Alatariel75 that rave sounds like a lot of fun! And great to be in bed by 10pm 😂 That's past my bedtime on work nights lol!

@stephanodda oh nooo!! Get that AC fixed ASAP! Make sure you are drinking plenty of water

I finally got some of the weeding and pruning done that I wanted to. It was sort of cooler tonight…83F. But the sun wasn't blazing down on me. Still worked up a sweat. I had a great week at work! It definitely helped that it's a short week and I have a 3 day weekend :)

Tomorrow morning is my 5k race. I'm excited for it as I have been training for quite a few weeks. I'm hoping it can be my fastest pace, but I haven't done the course before and I hope it's not too hot. Then I am going to find a new training plan to help increase my speed for the 5k. Anyone got any tips for that?

Do you have a ParkRun nearby? I try and go every Saturday morning and my time has been improving just because of habit and competitiveness :)

@Gidgitgoescrzy I've noticed it's very finicky about if/when it tags in blue, like if I type the name too fast it doesn't work, or if I mistype and start over it doesn't work. It's dumb lol. Idk if it actually does anything anyway? BTW I don't blame you for opting out of a stressful visit, there's nothing wrong with protecting your own peace!

@mkksemail those are very inspiring quotes, thank you for sharing!

    @ashleycarole86 great weigh in!

Yesterday turned out to be a good day. My first client of the day wanted to have a walking session, it was a little hot but not too humid so we walked for about 45 minutes. It's a great opportunity to teach and practice mindfulness.

I felt pretty good about my food choices, stayed within calorie limits, mostly well balanced.

I had a virtual visit with my primary care, she was happy with my progress and recommended I add in some resistance training. When I used to go to the gym those were my favorite work outs but I don't have much for equipment at home. I have some weights and resistance bands, I'm sure I can get creative with those and Google probably has lots of ideas.

Anyone else doing resistance training at home?

Good luck with your 5k, Lauren!!!!

Jackie, I bought weights so I could do ST/resistance at hom, but I really didn't know what to do, so I never used them :p.

İ'd be interested in any responses, tho! Since Feb, I've been doing a couple weights circuits that the Planet Fitness trainer out together for me. They're machines circuits, tho.

    Sit ups

Leg lifts (can use resistance bands)

    Tricep dips (with a chair)

    Lunges

    Push up (can be modified)

Happy 4th of July!!! My gym is doing special FIT 90’s today and tomorrow so I got a 1000 calorie burn in first thing this morning. Whooo! And another to do tomorrow. Might not be as intense as today though and that’s ok. Thankful I found a pre workout that seems to work. You get a free tank for going all week so I got my eye on the prize 😬😁. Ate a lot today but also burned a lot so still hit my deficit but it feels weird.

Nothing wrong with a rest day @mkksemail !

@lauren_989 wow congrats on completing a very hot 5k! That takes a lot of determination. And thanks for the workout ideas!!

@stephanodda I've done the same thing a few times lately (eaten a lot on really active days) and I still keep losing weight, but I agree it feels weird, it's hard to get out of the mindframe that it's "wrong" or "bad".

@cleaneater80 have fun at the lake!

My friend and I underestimated just how busy the beaches were going to be yesterday, we should've known with it being Independence day. We drove for 3 hours and tried out 3 different beaches before finally finding a spot on Lake Huron, it's my favorite MI lake and it turned out to be a great day. I'm also SO proud of my son for being patient while we drove all over looking for a place to swim. We had packed a healthy picnic lunch with meat, cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, veggies and dip, and lots of water. I had planned to make nachos with ground turkey for dinner when we got home, but because we had to drive so far we got home much later than expected, so I picked up Arby's on the way home. I feel better eating there than some other fast food places, and was still able to stay in a deficit, even with stopping for ice cream (an after beach tradition for us).

Today I'm going to a family BBQ, it's going to take some discipline not to overindulge!
