I had my book club tonight and one of the women asked if I was losing weight! Major NSV! And I ate small portions and didn't get seconds. I had unsweet tea with lemon instead of wine. Big success! 😊

Weigh-in Day: Friday (August 22, 2025)

CW: 244.4All the kids are gone again. We've just got the last of our four in college (sophomore now) so we're getting a sneak peak at 'free birding', my wife's preferred term over empty nesting. I have to admit that it'll be good to return my normal diet again with fewer meals on the road and tempting leftovers sitting around. My wife and son are pretty consistent about bringing food back and then losing interest and letting it sit in the refrigerator. The weight gain this week is a direct result of work. It's a stressful time with too much to do so I've not been sleeping well and working 12-14 hour days. At least I'm appreciated at my company so that makes it worthwhile. I plan to hit the rowing machine before breakfast and have a busy landscaping weekend coming up which hopefully kickstarts a good week of getting back to burning some calories.

I have a big challenge this weekend. Hubby & I are meeting four other couples for a weekend get-a-way. I have prepared as best I can. I’m bringing what I like to eat & snack and checked out the menu for our Polynesian restaurant. I usually pre-track my day, I just went to do that…and I can’t 😳 because after breakfast it’s not just up to me when & where we eat. I’ve been doing really well and for me, think it’s mostly about choices & portion control. So… wish me luck & my goal is to get some exercise in and weigh less next week than I did today 😁

We went to the park today and had a great walk. The weather feels like it is finally cooling down from the crazy heat we had in July and the beginning of August.
