@Ronnie_happy2ranch LOL, Ronnie, drivers and not perfect weather are rather amusing. Did the rain help? Did you get things fixed from the wind? How was the chicken? I've not yet turned on my heat, but I know I will. We will hit the high 70s over the weekend. Our average is 68 this time of year.
@chansen_2000 HI Carol, WOOHOO, hey, great to see you!! I can't remember who first suggested it, but I'm pretty sure it was a team leader who asked us, we talked it over (OALs), and TADA, here we are! It only makes sense!
@SweetPeasMom55 Aww, Great to see you also!! As you know, I've changed teams. I'll miss you, unless I see you here also. I love estate sales when they are reasonable. In CO, they were the best ever!! In Maine, I hadn't seen any until very recently.
@alphafitchick Glad a bunch of us are getting rain, we got a tiny bit today, with more on Thurs, maybe about an inch. We need it so much!1 -
Good Morning and Happy Hump Day VIP Friends, Today's plan for my workout is Chest/Back trying progressive overload that pretty much means I'm starting out with a lighter weight then by the end of the sets I'm using heavier weight that the last 2 reps will be the hardest. Before heading to the gym thought going to stop off at my cell phone provider to see if there is an app I can get to stop spam calls. I've been getting them since I requested information then signed up for insurance to hold me over until December when I can get it through work.

@alphafitchick NICE going with the weights, start off lighter, end with the heavier ones. I have an excellent spam catcher through T-Mobile (US Cellular recently sold us to them LOL), BUT I LOVE the spam catcher that comes automatically with T-Mobile. Not only will it reject the ones it knows are spam, for the ones it's not sure (Dr offices and the like), it will take a message which I can see in real time, and if it's a call I want, I just pick it up. If it's spam, BLOCK it!! In the past week, I've had 2 calls, which I did want, and as it started to take a message, a spammer went bye bye!

Happy Baby Friday VIP Friends, @Dianedoessmiles1 I downloaded at the suggestion of the guys at US Cellular (my local provider) RoboKiller and it's worked and turns out I'm eligible for a Galaxy Tablet so going this afternoon to get it ordered. They will offload some if not all of my social media to my tablet and that should solve all of my issues. The only other option they gave me was to change my number which would be a pain in the butt.

@Dianedoessmiles1 We're back to the 80s for temps for most of the next week! I've been harvesting a processing tomatoes and peppers still. I used up one of my eggplant so far by making a healthy cheesy penne pasta with eggplant and tomatoes and I froze it in portions for lunches. The remaining eggplants have seemed to stall in their growth. 🍆

Hi happy Thursday. Today I got my flu shot and Don got a tetanus shot which Dr told him he needed, Monday he got his pneumonia shot and then next week will get his flu shot. We then went and took our heavy quilt to be washed at the laundry mat. Other then that nothing new or exciting.
Hugs all

@alphafitchick Awesome job!! Enjoy the new tablet!! Fun exploring the features!! I got a new phone over a year ago. I love the pictures the foolish thing takes!! It's pretty amazing! Hmmm, with a "new number," it's often a recycled one. Most of those, though not all, are people who are deeply in debt, not paying bills. I hardly ever change my number, but a friend was often changing hers because she had creditors calling her a lot. LOL She'd end up with someone else's number, getting their calls on debt collection!! When I first got my current number, same thing I was getting calls for a guy. It took time for me to get them to understand I AM NOT HIM and not his wife. My favorite is the Sheriff from our county called for him. When I said I wasn't him, he was quick to tell me, "If you are saying your husband isn't you and you are hiding him, let him know we are looking for him for a bad check cashing. We have a warrant." LOL So each call I'd get for them I'd people "Hey, if you find him please call the ",,name of my county" sheriff's office has a warrant for him. They'd like him to turn himself in." LOLOLOL they never called me after that. LOL
@Ronnie_happy2ranch Oh, that sounds wonderful Ronnie!! Do you freeze enough to last until the next harvest? I grew up "in the city," but it was the outer part of Portland. We had land. We also had a large garden. I have 4 brothers, my Mom also took on 3 cousins when I was 10 or 11, and a step sister, 9 kids (generally 8) for kiddos and plus herself and the step father. She'd have enough stuff to last through the winter. I LOVED It when she made mustard pickles!! OH, that smelled so GOOD!! I also loved it when we'd sit around snapping green beans with a bunch of us. We'd fool around so much, but we also got it done. My Mom also had a great sense of humor.
@Kurtize How's your arm from the shot? Mine usually hurts some, but it goes away. WOOHOO on the quilt being washed. I have some blankets I want to take down, soon. It's easier to wash them all at the same time. It does cost more, but I do not care; it's such a time saver!2 -
Hello everyone, thought I'd catch up on reading here, and I see news from a few friends. ONE of whom has a new team, wow, things are changing 'round here more than just a weigh in day, haha. I saw flea markets, and ice cream cones---yay for both!

@Dianedoessmiles1 I still have tomatoes that I canned from 2 years ago. I have no more room for jars! Hence why I'm currently making sauce, paste, and freezing instead - the paste was accidental because I roasted the tomatoes too long yesterday while I was working! 🍅🍅😆 I think we won't plant as many next year but the flavor of fresh tomatoes can't be beat! I'm a self-taught canner just in the last 10 years because no one in my family ever did it that I'm aware of; maybe relatives in rural Wisconsin, but we were in the Chicago suburbs and didn't even have a garden.
@Sparkuvu It's nice to see you here!
@Patti241 Hi there! Hope you're all staying safe with this round of nasty weather out on the east coast! Although it does look like the hurricanes may just slip past instead of hitting the coast.
@Kurtize it's about that time of year to be getting our annual shots. I have to see if they will do them earlier for us this year since I think we did December last year and we'll be out of country during the first half of that month. I get mine on a Friday because I know I'll be knocked out for 2 days afterward! 😅🤣
@ alphafitchick what kind of tablet are you getting? I got an Android one last year but I rarely use it because I just don't like it so much. I like having a keyboard and mouse in order to be productive. I have used it to read my recipes on occasion though.

Ronnie: We may get some rain this weekend from the storms.

@Ronnie_happy2ranch I'm getting a Galaxy Tab A9 plus just waiting to see when it will arrive at the US Cellular store.

@Sparkuvu So good to see you!! Sometimes we need a shake up. I know I did. It'll be so much fun getting to know more 5% members I've
"Seen around" for a while, but do not know them well. Ohhh I hope we all see a wonderful change with our health during our terrific Fall challenge!!! Of course, you also. YUMMY on ice cream. We have a favorite place to go. Thankfully, LOL, it's 25 minutes away. Lemon Meringue pie, which even has graham cracker crumbs through it!! I had 2 smalls this summer, which were enough, and so yummy!! Glad you got to see the flea markets. How much are the fleas now? Not that I want any for Izzy or Oscar boy.
@Patti241 HI Patti!! How are you doing? Do you get to relax this weekend? I was hoping to do so, but LOL, my friends have other plans.
@alphafitchick Oh, that's wicked good!! Love that it is killing the scammer calls!!! Nicely done!! Enjoy that tablet!! That makes me smile. I wish everyone would get a Robo Call Killer, which may help to discourage some scammers. They keep upping their games.
@Ronnie_happy2ranch I was watching/reading a recipe for homemade tomato soup!! It sounds wonderful!! I'll probably make it. Right now, I have a pork butt shoulder roast in the crockpot. LOL I become "creative" on what to do, add to it. A friend dropped it off; she made one last night and wants me to make one. She had asked at the meat counter how to cook hers. They told her to use Dr Pepper, and cut up veggies, including potatoes, and garlic in it. She said it's to die for. She had some Dr Pepper left over for me. I added along with the onions, garlic, Dr Pepper, Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce, a little bit of honey mustard, a tiny bit of low sodium soy sauce, and a dab of teriyaki sauce. It's been cooking for almost 4 hours and smells divine!! I DID warn a neighbor down the hallway. LOL He usually will stop me and ask, "What were you cooking yesterday/Last night? It smells so good!" I do not think he cooks much. This is a huge roast, I'll bring him by a plate. He helps us all when the power goes out. It's nice for neighbors to help each other.
@chansen_2000 SO GOOD to see you, Carol!! We are happy to be a support. I am going to go and read over preassignment #5, give it some thought, and reply. I could reply later tonight, or soon. I'm also READY for the Fall Challenge!!! Doing the preassignments helps me to be ready and excited. Plus, have a solid plan.3 -
Been kinda ghosting here, waiting to see what team I will be part of, that is kinda exciting , new challenges and new folks to meet, maybe some ole friends as well. I am looking forward to the challenge beginning. Lately my life has been going to the dogs. OH so what's new!! My Triple B, (Big Black Baby) Molly had to have a toe removed on her back right paw. She had torn a nail and it just never healed so decision was made to eliminate the chance of infection and remove the toe! She has been so good she even earned a Pup Cup today. But she sure did not want to go back into the Vet Office when we first got there! Figured a treat after might ease her anxiety. Sure seemed to work!! She is snoozing away right now . With the issues with grasshoppers and heat this summer I didn't get to garden at all. Hoping next year will be better. For now doing mostly yard clean up and planning what needs trimmed, pulled up and gotten rid of , just the Fall housecleaning outside 101! Now tis time to kick back and enjoy the evening. Have a good evening y'al~~
2 -
Have a wonderful day and weekend.

@katiecondy1 WOOHOO, so happy to see ya, Katie!! I am also curious which team you'll end on. Poor Molly, I am glad the pup cup helped!! When I cut Izzy's "murder mittens," she growls at me, sometimes, though not often, will growl (LOL I try hard not to laugh. Tiny little thing growling like she's a lion. Team Izzy weighs 7 lbs, cat who is 16 years old). After I let her go, she "runs" 2 or 3 steps, turns back to me, she knows she'll get a snackeedoo! I'm sorry about the grasshoppers!! They've been out there for a few years or so. Horrible little things. Could you do any planting inside? I was doing a tiny bit when I lived next door, mostly catnip (of course! LOL Izzy is not spoiled, Izzy is not spoiled, who am I kidding, Izzy and Oscar are BOTH SPOILED! VERY SPOILED!) and butter lettuce. I like butter lettuce, but it's not often available. EEKKKK on 101 for your temp!! Isn't summer going to leave? We are likely having our last warmest (I HOPE SO!)temps for a while (AGAIN I HOPE SO!) today and Sunday at 80 (But it's not bad since the humidity is lower and the wind is thankfully up). Our average temperatures this time of year are 67.
@Kurtize ENJOY the weekend!!0 -
Diane: Yeah It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow. So it will be inside day.

Good Saturday Morning VIP Friends, It's 57 and clear with a high of 86 today. Last Night my town on the North end had a freak power outage that I first heard and saw on the Highschool Football live stream. I wondered why the feed had frozen only to find out on Facebook that there was a power outage at the stadium and then others from the North end of town posted power is out on such and such street.

Friends, Saturday not sure if I posted but I decided that we have as of last Saturday 95 days in the year and I've been very lax last Spring and Summer about getting in a mile walk a day so decided while watching TV to get up and get my mile in.
