Hope ev 1 enjoyed the 4th! We had a deluge of rain. First big rain in sometime. Of course that made it more sticky! Love that Pizza and beer, never tasted so good after a heavy workout. Looking at going ahead with H iron man training. Lot of hard work ahead! Hopefully by next Aug I can go for it! My plan is not to do it in Calif, but looks more like Texas. Right now Is the time to get in the best shape., That will take a miracle, I know I can get there. The most difficult part will be the running!

Sat rode more hills! Getting comfortable more riding in public. Hills are becoming fun and enjoyable! Hopefully they will become more routine. I rode this really steep grade and increased mph by 1. Another one I remember not so long ago I had to exit the bike and walk. I hope in a couple of months I have the courage to sign up for a 50 miler! Have an Awesome Sunday!

This month has been a wash for me. I'm on my third illness and my hip is still bothering me. And my knee now too. And of course it's been perfect running weather.
My triathlon was great though! I finished 15 minutes faster than I was figuring. I did my first sub-30 5k too! And that was after the paddle. I finished 5th in my division, only ONE SECOND behind the woman ahead of me. I'm only feeling a touch bitter at the car that wouldn't turn when the police motioned it on out of my way and I had to slow down. I think I can knock off another 10-15 minutes by next year. I've only been biking a couple months and the race was my third time in a kayak. My little boy ran his first race! He didn't trip (a common occurrence for him) and he finished the whole thing with the most determined look on his face I've ever seen. I'm so proud of him
And here's a bonus embarrassing story since you all listened to me complain. The put in for the paddle at the tri was just downstream from the start so you pushed in and paddled upstream in the river. I was one of the last in and all the men were lined up about to start already. I got caught in the current and couldn't move, only paddle like mad to stay in place. When I finally got myself going I totally bumper boated half the men's kayaks and hung up on one guy to the point where I said just shove me downstream so I can leave you be. And this is all while my son is on the bridge over us yelling "Mama, you're going the wrong way!"0 -

Sunday was a fun day and a crazy day getting home off train. Got caught in Flash flooding, couldn't get into truck alarm wouldn't function properly. Got drenched, finally made it home around 7 pm. Caught the news, people stranded in not so far away mountain community, mud slides. We really needed the rain, but that was crazy!
