    Last week I was given friendly advice about running. The injury I have is considered a soft tissue injury. They take along time to heal. The running could further aggravate it. Dr. stated cycling is fine and also continue with power walking or walking. It wasn't all bad but sort of depressing since I love to run. Right now riding is my favorite outdoor activity! I am going back to competition and doing a walk Oct 25. It's listed as a walk/run. I couldn't say no for 35.00

    I broke down and bought a new bike. Got a Trek Cross-rip(cyclo-cross) It has the versatility of racing, trails and commuting. It's not carbon, but light. It came with platform pedals. I have to choose between those and going back to clips.

    I bought a road bike (finally) this year and put clips on... next year I'm going clipless for sure (hope I don't kill myself falling while learning) - I hate my clips scraping the ground when I make turns, etc. Isn't a problem on my hybrid though...

    Last Mon I donated my bike to a student who needed a way to get back and forth to school. Took platform peddles off new bike and installed on old. Had my Look clips installed on new bike. It makes a difference for me in peddling. Get that push/pull leg action which is great leg excercise.

    Took weekend off except for 30 min of swimming today. Moved into a friends home for next 4 weeks. They went to SC. Taking care of their home and pets. Don't mind a bit! It's a great break for a change. Close to other work. They got two beautiful dogs that love to be pampered! My personal schedule for next 3 weeks: Lots of riding! Tues taking off to ride a long route, which I haven't done in some time. Hopefully will give me a boost for half metric century 10/26
