Pistachio nutella, chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, coconut, vanilla, raspberry, apricot, citron
Where did you get them from!? La Patisserie Choquette?
No, a place on Cherokee called Whisk Sustainable Bakery. (or something like that...I know it started with Whisk!). I ordered them from http://milasweets.com/ and then picked them up at Whisk. It was nice, because then I could pick whatever flavors and quantity I wanted. Expensive little *kitten*, though!
Oh I've had Whisk stuff at Tower Grove Farmers Market. Yum!0 -
Sunday morning breakfast (since I didn't have any for dessert last night) -- Blueberry-Peach Pie.

It mostly tasted like berry (not a strong *blueberry* flavor - more a generic "berry" even though the chunks of peach seemed to make up a majority of the filling).
And the crust was excellent -- bonus, this was a mini pie as opposed to a full-sized pie, so the short little stubby piece meant the crust-to-filling ratio was tilted heavily towards crust compared to a normal slice of pie!

Looks heavenly, lol. And I love a lot of crust in pies too.0 -
So I am actually not a huge sweets fan, as I think I have mentioned before. The Spring Cleanse was challenging to get something in every day.
Maybe that will have to change.
My 16 yo just got a new job at a little European-styled cafe serving light meals and coffee and a bakery. He came home from a brief orientation stint bearing treats.
(Ignore the mouse / pastry that got a little mushed in the box on the way home).
Supposedly not an uncommon thing for employees who end up closing on any given day. Too stuffed to have anything tonight, but maybe this will convert me to more of a dessert fan!

Those look great! That job would not be good for my waistline.0

I'm drooling!!!
I used to work at a French bakery and closed every Sunday, and all the extra stuff was pretty much ours to share. It didn't do any favor to my waistline.0 -
Yum Cortelli! I love the half and half pastry...0

I only spent 24 hours in NYC and didn't get any sweets (or really much of anything...a street vendor pretzel and a burger from an Irish pub on 44th). But my flight home went through JFK, and I picked this up. Double dark chocolate. Loved the lightness of the frosting, but the cake was a bit dry.0 -

I've had cupcakes at bakeries several times lately where I felt like the frosting was compensating for badly done cake. But at least the frosting was good.0 -

Something is mushed? I didn't even notice. I don't think I could work in a bakery. That would be scary.0 -

The Trio one in the lower right is supposed to be perfectly smooth on top (not blotchy in the white part where the box top mushed it), with the little clear triangle thingy upright instead of pushed flat. Supposed to be more like the below (from the cafe website).

Mmmmm, that looks like Balducci's goodies case! I definitely couldn't work there.0 -

I'll take all of it please. HAHA.0 -
OK - for someone who self-proclaims is not much of a sweets eater, I admit I seem to be posting lots of sweets pictures. C'est la vie.
My girls are away on a school trip to Yosemite, so my wife and I snuck out midweek to have snacks and drinks at a local "Hawaiian Fusion Bar & Lounge" -- we kept it quasi-Cinco de Mayo by sharing a Kalua Pig Quesadilla (and some classic Cinco de Mayo Hawaiian beers), but then went for the Hula Pie for dessert -- described as: Ice cream pie with an Oreo cookie crust, vanilla bean & coffee ice cream. Topped with chocolate fudge, toasted coconut, macadamia nuts & whipped cream. The prices at this place seemed high, but the volume of food was redonkulous, as indicated by this monstrous slice of ice cream pie.

@cortelli, those look amazing! Looks like a great bakery. I worked in a French bakery when I was 16 and I have fond memories, hope the same for your son0
-
@cortelli, I for one am enjoying living vicariously through your newfound sweet tooth...0

Ahhhh that looks good, lol. I wish I wasn't a sweets person.0

My favorite fruit pie of all time was a blueberry and nectarine pie, from Baking with Julia. Freaking. Awesome.
Should be really similar to blueberry and peach - but around here nectarines are in season longer, and are usually a bit more tart.0 -
Dang, that is a beautiful pie.0

Ok, as mentioned in the savory thread, I went to the Public House in the Venetian (Vegas) for my birthday. I chose the entire restaurant based on this dessert option:
Sesame baharat caramel corn, framboise lambic marshmallow, black & blue tartlet, irish coffee cheesecake, chocolate stout trifle, mini creme brulee, nutella cookie.

^^^ YUM! Love the presentation and all the different flavors.0

Wow that looks awesome.0

Wow, that's quite a dessert spread! Did you eat it all?
Last night at McConnell's, salted caramel chip. Amazeballs.

My fiance and I split it; so good!0
