  • Hello! I was recommended to come here since I am (obviously) a pretty big HP fan. Excited to start with you all :)

    and 2 pounds lost for a final weigh in this week of 188 lbs.

    I almost over did the food last night. Thankfully I turned down the last peice of pizza that was offered to me, though it was very tempting. Now if I can just make it through christmas week without over indulging I might be able to pull off my December goal.

    Happy Sunday Ravenclaw! One week 'til Christmas - I can't believe it!! Money's tight, as it always is, so I have not done the first bit of shopping. It may have to wait until after New Years, which will NOT make my 19 year old very happy - LOL!!

    Weighing in a day late - was really hoping that extra pound was water retention, but alas, not so. Still up a pound this morning. :sad:

    Good afternoon my fellow Ravenclaws! Hope you’re all having a wonderful lazy Sunday afternoon. I am weighing in at the same weight as last week of 238.2 BUT hopefully I’ll break this plateau soon, and be on my way to losing weight again. I’ve been busy packing and moving, so I didn’t really get to do much this week. Happy Holidays all!

    Pretty excited to see that since I'm not really expecting much from this week or next. I'd love to meet my official December goal, but honestly, I'll be happy if I can just maintain through the end of the month without any gain. :)

    Finals are over, packing up my office. Fully fledged sick.

    Still got some walking & zumba in though, so not bad. ;)

    Have noticed during my sickness that I'll go from not eating all day to wanting food even though I'm not hungry. Not sure what THAT's about, but it's gotta stop. Maybe my food cycle is just out of whack because of crazy schedules. I don't know.

    Here's hoping to maintaining weight during this week!
  • Checking in again late on Monday at 278.6, which is up a bit but after my first Christmas gathering it's not too bad. I also have 20 house points to add but nothing else. Still crazy busy but trying to keep some structure wherever I can fit it in. Happy holiday season to everyone! And good luck with making good choices while still enjoying all the holidays have to offer!!

    Sorry for the late check-in. I wasn't home yesterday and I kind of botched my weigh-in today, but I'll go with it anyway. I thought that it would be much worse after a week of being sick and unable to exercise and my cookie binge this weekend.

    Whoa, I'm really hoping that something is causing my sudden jump on the scale more than just me. Granted, I have to take some blame because I haven't been as good as I should lately (having serious willpower issues at the moment, and not just holiday-related treats). But honestly, it was a huuuuge jump. I'm going to just make sure I stick with the right foods and more water throughout the rest of the week and hope I come out even at the end of it.

    How is everyone else doing with all the extra temptations? Finding it harder around this time of year still or getting through it with flying colors? Seems like I'm not the only one getting behind on exercise, too. Some are doing great, but I've seen several mention just not having the time or ability to get to it.

    Almost can't wait for January, lol.

    working my way back from the land of the sick. hoping to go back to work tomorrow. spent the last 4 days in bed, but still able to eat tons of chicken soup and drinking oj that is probably packed with sugar!! totally forgot about weigh in, sorry. no house points or owls to report either. i'll be back on track for sunday weigh in.

    It does seem there are a lot more temptations this week. I have avoided sugar cookies and high calorie restaurant food and candy allready and we have even got to Christmas dinner. I am determined to make my december goal though so I am really focusing on doing things right this week.

    Two more days left of work. Feeling better, but still a bit sick. I'm hoping to get a chance to work out sometime this week.

    Well, Kelly, I am doing lousy with the extra temptations. Between to goodies at work and the stress that comes with year-end, exams and the holidays, I have NOT been good and have even given up logging for now. Logging just seems to be one more stressor for me right now. :ohwell: I'll get it back together after the holidays.

    I'm sorry you're stressed ot Sue. I agree you should take some time off. I feel as though MFP is there to help you. If it's not helping, and actually causing pain, don't do it. Take a break and get refreshed.

    I was wondering though how we did this week regarding points, owls, and loses. Do you happen to know?

    Thanks korkster for the encouragement! I'll try to remember to post the house results when I get home today. Its been a crazy busy week, and I've been trying to follow up on the Ravenclaws who didn't report - but I'm just going to post our results as they are. I also as our Head Mistress about the inter-house results - she never posted those for week 2! Guess we're all feeling the strain! :laugh:

    cherubcrnp take top honors for weight loss - down 4 pounds and 1.89%!
    Bairn77 comes in with the most OWLs - 18 for the week!

    I could definitely be doing so much worse, but my mind and body aren't letting me, lol. I'm a bit behind on exercise, but did really well with my workout today. My stomach is having issues with my change of diet since I got home. At school in the cafeteria, they always had amazing healthy choices that I always loaded up on and felt great. Here at home, though, the food is heavier and there's a lot more sweets around than in my dorm so after less than a week being home, my stomach is really missing the healthier choices. I'm trying really hard to make good choices here at home, but there's not a lot of support, especially with it being a busy time of year and with all of the holiday baking. But I'll adapt and make it work, otherwise I'll be spending my whole vacation feeling sick!

    I have the next 4 days off!! After my final exam tomorrow morning, I'll be free for the weekend!! I am so excited! This will be the first weekend in such a long time that I won't have any homework or other obligations! Woo-hoo!! Merry Christmas to me! :bigsmile:
  • When it came time to exercise today I just could not get motivated to do another indoor workout. So even though the ground is still incredibly muddy from the last storm with a fresh layer of about 4 inches of fresh snow from todays storm, I bundled up and went for a two mile run. It was a little cold at first but it turned out to be a lot of fun.

    Up early this morning to cram in last minute study then 9:00 a.m. exam. Its over now - so glad to leave that class behind!! Cheers!! :drinker:

    Now I'm off until Tuesday! I can finally relax!

    I feel ya Sue! Yesterday was the last day at my old job. I also finished my Christmas shopping and mailed back my textbooks. I am finally free! It's a great feeling, which is why I write this snug in bed under the covers with my cat.

    Hi there Ravenclaw. As some of you know I have been in bed with strep for most of this week. I'm finally starting to feel a bit better today, though still no voice. Hoping for dramatic improvement by morning as I'm still not quite finished with Christmas stuff. Sue, I hope
