What they have done to these protestors around the country is bull****. But what do you expect, the protest is targeting the banks. As long as you wave an American Flag and ignore the big fat *kitten* corporate america and their lackeys in the media are shoving in you, you can protest all day long. But mess with rich people's money, you're target number one.

Ah yes. OWS. The people who stopped serving gourmet food because it was attracting homeless people who wanted to eat. The brilliant minds who asked women who were raped in the camps to NOT report it to the police because they didn't want to get a bad rap so they said they'd "handle" it internally by offering the rapist therapy. Those wonderful people who trashed and stole from the Mom&Pop shops near their camps. They even decided to divide their camps by gender, orientation, and race...

I've seen several images like this one in the past few days and it really makes me think that the treatment towards the protesters has been quite vile and horrid. What ever happen to the right to assembly? If they are going to treat occupy protesters that way, then maybe they should do the same with Westboro and Tea Party no?
OWS is the same as the Tea Party, it originally had good intentions but was derailed by a bunch of tools.
You cannot compare Tea Party rallies and Occupy squatters. The Tea Party rallies weren't squatting for days on end. They did not defecate on cop cars. There were no sexual assaults. They did not do anything to warrant being arrested.

Quite honestly, this is why I have lost all faith in my country. All it takes is the media to label a movement, rally, or protest liberal or conservative, and the half the lemmings in the nation will support/hate it instantly. A lot of people blame our government, I used too. But now I blame the people. Uneducated, biased masses of superficial jack wagons who think that MSNBC or FOX is actually news.

    THIS

I cannot believe you people who are defending these criminals.

There is peaceful protest, and then there is criminal behavior. Rape, violence, ****ting in the street and on police cars and on the flag?

The occupy movement is a joke that isn't funny. The police have been too mild, IMHO, they need to go in there with water cannons and clean away the filth. Send them back into their parents' basements.

    UGH.

I am sorry, this is going to be an unpopular point of view, and I am headed out for the night but I just can't keep my mouth shut here.
    1. the right to assemble still requires a permit. These people are tresspassing on public property.
    2. The tea party was not a) defecating in the streets, b) raping or shooting each other, c) commiting drug law violations. If they were, then they should have been arrested by all means necessary.

In all actuality, they both have a bit in common. Outraged by bailouts? check. Outraged by out of control government spending? check

They lose me when you ask them what their "better system" would be and you hear them spout noncence about Communism, Socialism and Primitivism.

Here's a thought, Where does it end? Do you think "They" are going to redistibute the wealth to the middle class Americans?
Looking at the big picture America IS the 1% of the world. Even the poorest among us living in American "poverty" most likely have cell phones and an automobile, Maybe even a big screen TV.
Does that mean we should redistribte all the Wealth in America to the poorer nations of our world?

There will always be the poor among us.

What makes America different and great is NOT The guarantee of equal Results, but the Guarantee of Equal Opportunity.

I also find it ironic that these hypocrites are all anti captilaism while they use thier new iphones, ipads, and macbooks to tweet, blog, and organise on facebook.

    [/rant] Thank You. Goodnight.

So if we own any technological device we can't complain about corporate America? I guess I'll just use the Ma and Pa store down the street and see if they can whip me up a cell phone.

But I agree, the Tea Party and the Occupy started with very similar ideals, but one was sold out to the conservatives and the others the liberals. That's why nothing is going to ever change. Divide and conquer. And I don't think the vast majority of Occupy protestors are unemployed or criminals. So if a couple of people pooped on a cop car, I'm not going to get all excited. And it's no big suprise that the Tea Party was calmer after it was taken away from young Ron Paul supporters, because

    A: It wasn't a protest, but a Rally.
B: The Tea Party people are a hell of a lot older, and unless they came prepared with a pocket full of viagra, no one was getting raped.

Yes, they do need to realise that without Capitalism, there would be none of these things. Love it or Hate it, Capitalism provides people the opportunity to innovate.

    Fox "news"

You can show them Iraq vets being hit in the head with flash grenades. You can show them teachers and police officers and pilots supporting OWS. You can show them students being pepper sprayed and having internal organs ruptured for daring to sit down. You can show them 84yo women being pepper sprayed and the Fox "news" watchers will still call them degenerate hippies living in their parents' basements.

Incidentally, the TEA partiers were the ones spitting on Congresspeople and threatening to shoot the POTUS.

Yea, there are some losers in the group. There are losers in every group. If a few losers in your demographic makes your entire group a bunch of losers then EVERYONE is a loser.

If sit-ins don't work how do you explain the equal rights movement? I suppose you think violence isthe answer? Too bad that nasty old Constitution is getting in the way. Oh... wait... no it's not.

When in doubt rape is obviously the way to go, right.

If they were actually being non-violent, we wouldn't have this problem at all. They FIGHT the police. They are a menace to the community, destroying property, stealing. The organizers should send those people packing, they should speak out against them. The should NOT hold moments of silence for the man who shot at the freaking White House!

There aren't "some losers" in this group. The group organizers handed out pamphlets telling women they were NOT to report RAPE to the police. ANYONE who suggest that is just as guilty as the rapist. They should be imprisoned for obstruction of justice, hate crimes, and anything else that will stick.

Yes, there are always a few bad eggs, but really.... comparing a handful of Tea Party-related incidents to the thousands of Occupy incidents and arrests? Really?

where the tea party had a list of defined goals, the occupy movement is made up of form a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs, many capitalists included. these unhappy citizens that have lost jobs, money or medical care due to the broken government lobbyist system that is in place. only the very rich are really represented in the congress and white house of either party. The occupy movement are without a defined list of goals and i am sure they do not all agree on the issues but they have one thing in common they see a broken system thats needs fixing. not that the news would ever present the case as such.
the occupy movement is not just the protestors at wall street. i agree that some of the decisions and things that have happened could and should have been dealt with in different ways both on the side of ows and the police and mayor,

the movement is now MORE then what started and is continuing at the encampments, its in your state capital and city hall at the grass roots level doing some pretty amazing things i.e. occupy homes, occupy libraries, occupy schools. google it. starting from the ground up is a way to change a nation. protesting in the street is just to spread your message.

the occupy movement is now a well spring of grass roots efforts you will see coming to fruit at the next election.

I must be commenting in too many threads at the same time. I'm sorry. I'm talking about more than a handful of violent or non-peaceful incidents with the squatters, er....occupiers.
