where do you get your patties? i think it's about time juicy beef open an outlet in london man. i often buy some saltfish patties which are quite nice but the sad thing is that one is just not enough.
have not had fried dumpling in a while. i might make some this weekend with liver and kidney0 -
There is one brand from a bakery that is ok, I can't remember the name of it but my Aunty is into catering and she told me about them, they are not as wet as Juici but the pastry is right and the meat is the right meat just slightly drier, but some of the others are horrible. A shop I went to had those ones in for a while but the girl at the counter was all dibby and giggly I don't think she understood the difference! But english people like the yellow inside and out english patties so most shops don't bother with the other type as Jamaicans aren't the majority of the customers. When the Shop stopped selling them even the manager said so, and he personally liked the proper ones but can't buy them to waste.
If I find out the Bakery that makes them I'll let you know.0 -
ok cool. let me know the brand when you find out and where i can find them. i am based in north west london but i will pretty much travel anywhere in london to find them. the ones i use to buy i can't remember the brand but i normally get them in harlesden.0

I bought a Small National Bakery bun today, the small loaf not the teeny one I'm not that good!0
-
I have about half of one of those small national loaf at home as well. Last time i had piece was on Saturday and it was abit dry. I think it is abit stale as the one I had opened before was alot moisture.
it looks like i won't be tasting the maxfield bun as i had a look at the box yesterday and notice it has past its best before date which was 24/06/12. I guess i will have to find something else to do with the small tin of cheese.
Comparing the national with the yummy bun I had over Easter, I would say the yummy one was the nicest by far. I noticed Asda was selling the yummy bun shortly after Easter, not sure if they still do or it was only in stock for the season.0 -
i think i might buy a pack of excelsior water crackers to eat with the cheese. haven't had water crackers in about 10 years0

I ate the whole thing.0

damn, lol how many calories was that.
usually i have about 80 - 100g of bun in one sitting with anywhere between 0.5 and 1 oz of cheese0 -

choose wisely at mcdonalds..... i have not been there in years.
today i had a salad, roll and some diced mango and it was more calories than the whole pizza i had yesterday!!0 -
LOL. We Jamaicans and our food. Cant separate us from it even on a diet and weight loss forum.
Personally I think I am depriving myself and my mission is to not do that but to still have things in moderation and the right portions. Its not as if the deprivation is causing me to lose faster anyway. I just need to be good with my exercises.0 -
That's when I realised I can't fit these things in, when I had some mango too! I'll keep weighing but I think Sunday will be my first day back.0

I know but I shall overcome! Done 2 good days and they have felt easy.0

 tony you are something else....0
-
LOL...I am trying to figure out how Tony lost almost 50lbs with such a "rich" diet. Actually I am just jealous because I would love to be able to eat those and still lose and be healthy. I just have to look at some of those things and I gain weight.0

Two whole days right? You shall overcome!!
Me I love my Giant harddough with butter. I toast those sexy *kitten*, lock mi eye and log the 240 calories. DONE!!!0 -
My problem is Hardo was a cheat day food, I would never buy it, but if I went to my dads on Sunday I would eat it always, and have what ever dinner he had. When I buy it I don't have the same restraint as when I fit in other things, I eat cake or cheese or crackers most mornings, but bread is trouble!0
-
You seem to be doing well losing even with hardo bread so I think thats great. I want to reach the stage where I can have anything I feel for and still lose, even if there is a temporary gain. I want to be at the stage where I dont feel deprived and I am not there yet. There are some things I definitely have to lock my eyes to because I know I wont be able to stop at just one cheat meal or a cheat day....it will be many days and then me trying to drag myself back up on the wagon.0
-
The way I do it is to have my main meals with few carbs, then I can snack my carbs and then that tends to be the bad stuff! As long as I don't over do the snacks I'm still losing while eating everything I like. And with one day when I can go over my calories I can have that day when I have rice and peas and yam and dumpling like I would! Just have to put in the cardio to earn that day.0
