I think I can get one of the newer Sit N Stand models (one with the removable full seat in back) for around $80 off craigslist... maybe that will drop even more as we get into wintertime. I'm pretty sure thats what I'm going to go with... my toddler isn't big enough to handle a true Sit N Stand (with just the bench in back) so hopefully this will help us make the stroller last another year or two.

Also - I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but I've gone almost 4 days without throwing up! Yay for small miracles!

    Hi all!!!
This is my thrid baby. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old. Guess what You can get pregant while nursing;) My two little ones will be 14 months apart!! I will have a March baby, and April bay and a May baby!!! 3 kidos 3 and under. I am very excited and very overwhelmed right now.
We were not planning on having any more kids. But we are very greatful for new little life we will have in a few months.
Currently my biggest concern is gaining a ton of weight. I was not back to prepregancy weight before I got prego again. I already feel fat and out of shape. any tips or advice to keep the weight under control would be helpful

Welcome to the May Group and congrats on your surprise baby! My husband and his brother are a little less than a year apart and were the best of friends growing up! How fun for your little family :)

I echo the sentiments with regard to Maria's loss (I wrote on her page separately yesterday, since I assume she is not likely to pop back in here). It is really sad and scary when that happens, which makes me all the more anxious for my next appointment (the 15th). I am really considering that doppler now.

I figured I'd check in and see how everyone is doing. How are you all?

Today I feel really good. I was exhausted last night (I could have gone to bed at 7:30) but feel energetic this morning. My boobs are still big and veiny but are hurting a lot less. I really only feel them if I hit them the wrong way (like I bump into something or find a weird sleeping position). I felt a little nauseated yesterday afternoon but felt ok after I ate something. This morning I was starving and was more than happy to eat breakfast!

I am definitely having issues with my clothes at this point (10w5d). Today I had to wear a suit, and I am wearing an older, bigger suit. The skirt is a size 10 (from Express, which I always found to run a little small - I've worn 10s from other companies that have been too big), and the jacket is an 8. Both are maxed out but not improperly - the skirt from my belly (seriously, I look way more pregnant than I am) and the jacket from my boobs. I'm not sure if it's that I'm eating more to stave off nausea and low blood sugar or because of the baby (or both) - I am also afraid to get on the scale. I am trying not to sweat it because I'm *supposed* to be getting bigger, but it bums me out that it's happening so soon, especially before I am big enough to reasonably wear maternity clothes (not that I have much in that department). It's a bit aggravating because we have not told our office staff yet, and I'm having a hard time hiding it. I don't mind telling them, but I know they will go insane (in a good way) when we tell them, and I don't like a big fuss being made over me, so I'd rather not be there when they find out! They can get it out of their systems and then be normal about it when they see me next.

My parents still don't know (I was planning on telling them the next time I spoke to them on the phone, but this big storm called Sandy put a big dent in that plan - they still don't have power, and so I have only been able to speak to them briefly and about their safety and well-being). Tomorrow they are actually going on vacation (I had to call their airline on their behalf to make sure all was well), so I am tempted to send them a message to "brighten up" their vacation rather than wait another week to tell them. I also still need to tell my two brothers and my Godmother. All of my in-laws know, so other than my parents, brothers, and Godmother, plus our office staff, at this point everyone who should know already knows.

Has anyone else still not told any family/close friends? How are you all handling your clothing situation? Does anyone else feel like they are showing already (and moreso than they should for their baby's gestational age)?

Does anyone have good news, like their nausea has subsided?

    Good morning everyone!

Today (fingers crossed) I'm feeling okay. Everything stayed down over the weekend again and I'm feeling nauseated, but not like I'm going to actually throw up again.

My boobs are getting bigger too... I was down to a 34DD and I'm already back into my old 36DDD (at 11 Weeks 1 day) - I have no idea what I'm going to do when this bra gets too small.

I've been in maternity clothes for a few weeks now plus some of my "fat" shirts that are more forgiving. I feel like I'm definitely showing already.

So question for those of you that already have 1+ little ones at home. Do you have a double stroller? Are you going to invest in one? My son will be 2 when this baby arrives - and we love walks. I just am flabbergasted at prices on those bad boys. We have a saturn sedan and the trunk isn't all that spacious, so size is a concern too.

I had invested in a double stroller before I found out I was having twins so now I need a triple stroller really, but we are just going to keep using my sons single stroller and have the twins use the double. I bought mine off a facebook group for moms, I got a great price of $60. So you could try craigslist, I got 1/2 carseats off their for a great price too. Though I prefer to use the fb groups bc its more personal and I have had issues with craigslist purchases in the past. But it all depends on what you are looking for too

    Hi everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA for a while! Life got super-busy (and it still is!) but things are still running along smoothly. I had an appointment last Monday and got to hear the heartbeat via doppler (we'd already seen it via ultrasound 4 weeks prior) and that's about all that happened at the appt. I've got another the Monday after Thanksgiving, and then FINALLY will get an appt the week before Christmas for the anatomy scan.

Nausea has abated and energy has returned - hurray!! I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow, so I'm already to 2nd trimester - so crazy to think about! I have 'fat' days and 'skinny' days but overall, I'm still not really showing. I've gained about 5-6 lbs total, but am still getting by in 1-size-up jeans with a hairband at the button. I'm actually kind of glad I'm not really showing yet, since I showed so early (and got so huge) with the twins last pregnancy. I was afraid I'd balloon up right away!

My in-laws sent a little care package with yellow/white sleepers and a gift card for the new baby; it is officially the first gift for this little one! I thought it was sweet, since we won't really be getting much new stuff this time around, what with having girls and a boy already, and we still have all our baby stuff. That's what happens when you have 4 kids in 3 years, lol!

I hope everyone else is doing well!

I think my body hates me. That must be it. (Are you guys tired of my whining yet? lol)

I couldn't even keep down water and toast this morning. Are you kidding me? I'm shaking I'm so hungry/thirsty but nothing is staying down! I just want to go home and crawl back into bed but this week is crazy at work. Gah. At least it had been a little over a week since the last time I got sick. Maybe my little jelly bean is just reminding me that he/she is still there.

On the plus side: It's November and I want to focus on positivity and gratitude so here are some things that are great!
    - I'm 12 weeks + 1 day Hallelujah I'm almost out of the 1st Trimester
    - The cramping I was experiencing this weekend didn't result in spotting
    - I've got a job that comes with good health insurance
    - My sweet little family is growing

I'm so sorry you are STILL dealing with nausea. Hopefully the lack of vomiting (knock on wood) means that you won't have the same issues you had in the past with it continuing well into the second trimester. Can you handle some V8 or anything? I know when I was little and used to get airsick, tomato juice used to help a lot. Some people hate it, though... V8 is rather tomato-y but has lots of other good stuff in it, too.

But yay for the great outlook!

As far as your cramping, I have had some of that here and there. My OB nurse told me it was normal as your uterus grows (even after having one baby already), but that really painful, persistent cramping (or sharp pain) is what needs to be checked out.

My insurance has smacked me in the face - we own a small business, so the best we could do is get a high-deductible plan with BCBS (if we wanted maternity coverage at all), and I got my EOB for my first OB visit. I have to pay nearly $400 out of pocket for a Pap smear. Really? I am so shocked, I don't even know what to say. I have an NT scan scheduled for the 15th, but I am tempted to cancel it (since it's not necessary, just recommended), so I am waiting for a call back from the insurance specialist at my OB's practice. I don't want to have to cough up another $500-$1000 because my insurance sucks (not to mention how much we pay in premiums). I am also waiting for a call back from BCBS explaining why I have to pay so much out of pocket for a routine test that is required to be covered by the PPACA.

The upside is that if I cancel the NT scan, I am going to try to move my appointment up to this week. I was last at the OB when I was not yet 8w (I'm 11w1d today), so it feels like next Thursday is way too long to wait to check that everything is cool. I will be out of town this weekend and would love to know that all is well before we go away. (We're camping in the chilly mountains of NC... not sure how well this is going to work with three dogs and a toddler!)

Sorry for the rant, and I don't mean to crap all over your positive outlook, really... It's just that I got my EOBs in the mail on Friday literally at 5:05PM - just barely too late to call BCBS and ask them what the deal is. I always seem to get bad news just after COB on Friday!

    Edited for clarification

It's ironic that you recommend V8 - I represent them across select grocery stores nationally in the US at work :) Unfortunately, I react very badly to tomato based products (pasta sauce, ketchup, tomato soup, etc.) during pregnancy, otherwise I'd be all over V8 and tomato juice! So far dairy is what calms my stomach and stays down the best (but not always).

I'm on BCBS of FL through work, and based on their "Preventive Care" schedule... I wonder if your doctors office filed it as something other than preventive? (That being said that would just be my guess based on my experience with BCBS - but each plan is different). GOOD LUCK & I'm sorry you have to deal with insurance claims - that is NEVER fun :(

I am wondering the same thing about preventive vs. something else. I only got a Pap smear because it had been over a year since my last visit (I didn't bother getting an annual since I figured I'd be in there soon enough for a prenatal appt). We'll see what they say, but I intend to challenge it. I may not understand my policy fully, but I'm no dummy, and I know that insurance companies have been forced to cover new things under the PPACA (my policy renewed in August, so the new coverages started then - I even got a thing from BCBS telling me that lactation support was now covered).

Funny that you work for V8 - I love them! I just bought the V8 Fusion Light strawberry and banana because it is BOGO at Harris Teeter this week - it is so yummy!!! I'm so sorry that tomatoes and you don't go together well. My mom is that way - if something has too much tomato in it, her stomach is not happy. Very sad, since she married into an Italian family... I have started drinking 1% chocolate milk as a dessert, since to me it's as good as chocolate ice cream but less calories

My BCBS isnt awful...though I have had issues where I have had to call for them to pay a bill...sometimes it was the doctors office (like when my OB opened his own practice and the nurse put me in as a MALE).....but sometimes it is about the coding between the two which is where my issues have arised. I was shocked I didnt have to make a copay my last visit, but it worries me that my insurance has changed and I dont know to what degree....I just dont want a surprise bill...so we shall see how it goes. I am getting antsy for the 13th since we get to see the twins again....nausea seems to be at an all time high lately, maybe its the big boom before the calm? I am hoping anyways.....I am also hoping we will get lucky and find out what the twins are on the 13th even though it is early (I will be 13w3d) but if not then hopefully no later than 17 weeks! Its killing me knowing I have 1/2 chance of having a boy a girl or 2 of each! lol We are also looking for bigger places now as a 2 bedroom will not support a family of 5...so we are looking at some this week. I want to move asap so the house will be in order way before bedrest or the twins arrive. How is everyone?

Whoa, girl, you have a lot on your plate with these new babies! I hope you can find out what they are this time!

I am definitely getting antsy for my next doctor's appointment. It feels like forever since I was last there, and I am anxious to make sure that everything is still good.

I also heard back from BCBS that they are looking into my question and will get back to me ASAP. I have yet to hear back from my OB's office, but I know that voting is taking forever around here (I waited 1.5 hours and that was before 8AM). I wouldn't be surprised if that is slowing down the person I need to hear from. I really do wonder if something was coded wrong. The coding would be by LabCorp, not my OB's office, so who knows. I am just really shocked that I would have to pay nearly $400 out-of-pocket for a Pap smear. Seriously.

I've had issues with insurance in the past, though. Once I had to take my son for a blood test, and the hospital mis-entered his insurance information and ending up billing me as uninsured. The bill was for $65 or something like that, which led me to believe that if they re-processed it, I'd pay less out-of-pocket. They re-processed it, and I had to pay $90! I called the hospital billing office and asked them how that is even ethical, but what I should have realized is that she had no power to change it. I did send BCBS a copy of the first bill, though, to show them the difference, not that they'll care. I understand why the difference in charges exists, but I don't think it's right.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make this a rant about health care/insurance. (I definitely don't want to make this a political thing, either, but I doubt anyone will go there.)

Hi May mommies! I am due May 10th with our third baby. We have two girls Leah is 14 mo and Kaylee is 5 yrs old. This will be our last baby and this was a hugeeeee surprise as I was getting ready to have an iud! But we are so happy now that the shock has settled and hoping this could be our boy! But three girls would be fun also, I know they would have a close bond. Can't wait to find out what were having so we can plan!!!!

Hi! I'm also due on the same day! Yay for May 10th! I'm so looking forward to Friday when we will be celebrating the official end of the first trimester!

How is your pregnancy so far, and how are the rest of you? Sorry for not checking in -my family was visiting for all of last week and we had a full house.

I am nauseous, but it is definitely not as bad as it was even just 2 weeks ago. I'm just hoping it ends very soon because I am really worn out from feeling this bad for this long. Everyone still keeps trying to give me advice: ginger tea (umm, no, tea makes it worse and I feel like I can't ever eat ginger again), mint (=heartburn), pretzels (they're ok), saltines (yes, but I'm starting to get an aversion there, too), etc. One friend (who has never been pregnant and didn't understand how another friend could be "so attached" to her unborn baby of 24 weeks) said yesterday, "Well, I hope you're still running because that helps morning sickness." I know they all mean well but do they seriously think that someone who has been severely nauseous for three months has not tried everything in the book? Sigh.

Rebecca, I read your contribution on the thread about what you wish people had told you before the birth; you give great advice!
