Week 6 Day 1 done. Only one more day of intervals and then just full runs from then on. Stopping and starting today was almost harder than the 20 min run. I felt like I was just hitting my stride when it told me to start walking. Wow. In 2 weeks I will be running 30 mins!4

Just realized I have to start getting up earlier to fit my run in starting week 6. Guess I'm getting up at 5 now.
It's family day in BC, so I dont' have to work tomorrow, but I'll get up and run anyway.3 -

that's so true. It so pisses me off when my shoelace gets loose and i have to stop. Completely ruins my momentum, especially when it's during my fast runs. I also feel more tired, like i have to work harder to go from a full stop to running again.2 -
W5D1 completed!4

Hi, just found this group. I did Week 4, Day 2 yesterday, I ache....need more fluids and better warm up and stretches!4

Finished w7d3 today. Nice sunny day. It was 28 f, but I completely over dressed. We have a heat wave coming the next few weeks, so I'm going to have to drop the outer layer.2

Nice, I originate from the Queen City of the West Kootenays! Enjoy your Family Day today... ours is next Monday!1 -
W5D2 complete. I got thru the 8 min runs. The 2nd one was tough but I think it was because I upped my speed a little the first 8. I got through it though and didn't stop even though I was tempted. Nervous for the next workout3

You'll knock it out of the park.2 -
Ok I almost procrastinated myself out of running tonight... I did get W6D2 done tonight! I started at 9:49pm and it wasn't great... but it's in the books now. Unfortunately, so are the intervals!5

I like it when the intervals go away. Less to have to worry about. You can just run.1 -
@upsaluki I'm looking forward to my run tonight.... I will be starting at a better time though... aiming for 7:301

Did W2D2 at 5 this morning. I'm still amazed I can run for 90 seconds. Also glad I live in a warm climate so morning runs aren't too difficult.4

You'll do great. Just remember not to rush too fast when you start out. Steady even pace will get you through! Good luck!1 -

Way to get it done! Sometimes I think it is almost easier without the intervals. The starting and stopping is more tempting for me not to start again! LOL
I am headed out shortly for W7D1. It is sunny and 34F. I am hoping for no wind.1 -

Try doing some foam rolling on those calves after your run... or give yourself a nice deep calf massage if you don't have a roller.
Also, prior to running, some good dynamic stretching that includes calves is really good. The best one I found was to find some stairs or curb: (part 1) put ball of both feet on the edge of the step and alternate flexing each heel downward for 10-15 reps; (part 2) put one heel at the edge of the step and flex the toes downward for 10-15 reps and repeat with other foot. If you don't have a railing to hold on to for part 1, then I would recommend doing one foot at a time for balance.
Great job everyone, you guys and gals are rockin' it!1 -
W5D3 done! 20 min straight and feels awesome!!!5

I have done this so many times, running as late as 11pm. But I quite enjoy the calm cold and cloak of darkness. I have my blinkers but no one can see how purple my face is!1 -

Week 6 Day2 Done! Felt great. Plus I have been doing pilates every day (for 4 days) which has activated my core. I am feeling very strong, aligned, with a relaxed neck and calm breath. I highly recommend pilates as a great companion program!2

I don't unfortunately! There aren't any on here, the only 5K that looks fab is a Colour Run, but it"s not an actual run, it's more a "walk with friends and climb on inflatables to really loud music" thing. I'll just need to wait for the right opportunity And work on my speed. I don't think I'm reaching 5K just yet, more like 3,5 or 41 -
Finished week 8 day 1 today. RunDouble has a week 9, but I'm going to switch to the 5 to 10 k program on there instead.3

W7,D2 complete in the blustery snow. I wanted to quit so bad today but I just kept putting one foot in front of the other until it was done. There was no way I was going to quit and then have to repeat it! It wasn't physical weakness as much as mental weakness. Bleh...4
