Ravenclaw Common Room

I gained this week as well. I went on a business trip so there were three days of eating every meal out and I did not make good choices! Hopefully I can get back on track this week.0

I lost this week woot!!!
Great challenges both- definitely things I need to work on. Don't forget to weigh-in today Ravenclaws!!!0 -
Good morning Ravenclaws!!!
Arms done for the day: 25 bicep curls with 15lb weights and 25 "real" pushups
Run done for the day- although its really dark out there at 5am in the morning!!!
Logging- done for yesterday and so far so good today!!0 -
Hiya Ravenclaw! We're out of the 100's (degrees F that is) here for the forseeable future - FINALLY!! Still in the upper 90's - but still better than the 100's - LOL! So maybe I'll feel a little more motivated to exercise. We'll see...
Did my arms last night. Almost forgot and got back out of bed just to work my arms! The silly things we do.
Have a great day!0 -
Hey everyone! The weather here can't seem to decide if it wants to cool down or stay hot so my sinuses are acting up. I really hope I don't get a sinus infection! I keep forgetting to work my arms... maybe today I'll actually remember once I get off of here.0

Am so bad at logging at the moment!!
Right, prefects for this week are....
Azsuzi and momofJandA!!! Again!! Well done you guys!!
Challenges from you both please, I'll let you fight it out for who does which- whoever posts first can set either food or exercise, whichever they want, and the second one to post has to do whatever's left...
And, well done to me and THeWinged for being the only two who lost this week!!0 -
I AM SO BAD AT LOGGING!!!!
Am trying to get back on track but have ben useless for three days, MUST TRY HARDER!!!!0 -
Wow, busy weekends for you guys I guess! Challenges anyone? If not, I am going to continue with the old ones because I really need to improve on both of those!0
-
I have an idea for the challenges: since we're on our extra week anyway and we all seem to be slipping, how about we leave the food challenge the same but change the exercise challenge to be "do something every day and log it". So our 3 challenges are:
Food: log everything you eat - 1 OWL for each day accomplished
Exercise: do something and log it - 1 OWL for each day accomplished
Spirit: drop in the common room and post something - 1 OWL for each day accomplished
Maybe this will encourage us to get back in the game and be more involved with our own and each other's weight loss/health journeys.
I must confess that I haven't been dropping in here as much as I used to because I was feeling like I was talking to myself. It's sad to see our little common room so inactive. We've had a good run over the last year and a half and with a little effort we can keep it going for who knows how long.
Our new healthier eating habits feed our bodies, our exercise feeds our souls, but the common room feeds our inner geeks. So come on Ravenclaws - let's show our Ravenclaw spirit!!0 -
(just saying Hi from Slytherin!)
I am probably starting it up FOR GOOD starting in October ~ tomorrow!!~ Hope to see some claws supporting their house!0 -
Hey guys! It's been an extremely busy weekend for me! I haven't even had time to log my food but I definitely need to do that right now! I like the challenges for this week and I can definitely improve on those.0
-
Hi guys!
I agree with Azsuzi, so food challenge stays the same and exercise challenge is to do something, anything!!
Logging in today a tiny bit down, am pleased, but nowhere near my target for the month. Boo! I am going to kill this in October!!0 -
Hiya Ravenclaw. Am up today thanks to many bad choices over the weekend. That all stops today with a new attitude going into October! I've been lazy about my self-discipline in eating and exercising. My weight is up about 10 pounds from a year ago and my clothes are feeling tight again. I am trying to keep in mind my reasons for losing the weight in the first place (other than looking better!) - lower cholesterol and blood pressure, more energy and a healthy brain. This isn't supposed to be about vanity - it is supposed to be about my health. So here's to a healthy October! :drinker:0

I am SO in for HEALTHY OCTOBER!
I just got back from my 4 day cruise today. I plan on getting back on track0 -
Day 1 - food logged (actually under cals!!), exercised and logged and spirit posted! Happy Monday!0
-
Now weigh 97.9 Ibs bit nervous about that.0
-
I lost this week!
I was sick yesterday so I didn't log or exercise but I'm going to make up for that today!0 -
Healthy October! Healthy October! Healthy October! I am in!!!0
-
Day 2 Oct - eating ok but don't know if I'll get in a full workout. I am, however, using the stairs instead of the elevator and have done some wall push-ups which I will count as exercise even though there's no cardio to log.
Have a great day Ravenclaw!0 -
I am in for Healthy October too! I've put on weight again, after I tried so hard to lose it. Today I've done pretty well. Went to boot camp and ate reasonably healthy.0
-
Going well so far: swam on Monday, went to the gym yesterday, going to do an exercise video (or maybe a run if I have time) tonight. Diet is ok, not great but at least I'm logging!!
As for results: Well done to our prefects this week: Brittlynn and Azsuzi!!
Can we have challenges for next week please- Azsuzi, food please, and Brittlyn; Exercise challenge.
Also congratulations to Britttlynn, me, TheWinged and TwiFan5, who all lost last week. And well done to Twifan5 again, for being the ONLY Ravenclaw to reach her target for the month. Here's hoping healthy Ocotber helps more of us reach those targets!0 -
I went for a walk yesterday and it was just what I needed! I've been making healthier choices so far so hopefully this will be a good week.
For the exercise challenge I think we should stick to just moving so 1 owl for each day you get in 30 min of cardio.0 -
Another busy day for me that included a business lunch. Even though I ordered a salad, it came with a huge load of calories - so I'm over today, but it is logged. Haven't done the exercise yet - maybe I'll get in some quick wall push-ups and crunches before bed.
Food challenge for next week: let's do the rainbow challenge again. 1 OWL for each day you eat at least 4 different colors of fresh fruits and veggies.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I've been MIA for the last several weeks, wayyyyyyyy toooooo much work (I'm self-employed, and it's taken me awhile to learn that saying no to clients is ok), but I'm trying to get back on track. I've maintained through the craziness, so I guess that's a victory of sorts, but I really want to get rid of this spare tire, and find some muscles, and get back in running form. Maybe checking in here every day will help :-)0 -
Happy Friday! Lots of changes in my life this week - I got a promotion that I've been hoping for for over a year!! I'm now a supervisor which means that I have people reporting to me and a whole new set of rules. I'm really excited to be finally moving in the right direction in my career!!
Am trying really hard to stay within calories. Not always succeeding but at least I'm posting - which is something I had not been doing faithfully for a while. Our challenges seem to be working for me this week - so YAY!!0 -
@azsuzi - congrats on the promotion - that's fantastic!
As for me, today was a completely lazy day - I did get a few things accomplished, but spent the evening on the couch in front of the tv... a little over on food, but nothing a workout wouldn't fix... but it's 9:30, so it will have to wait until tomorrow :-)0 -
Hey Everybody!
(when I type that, I always hear people shout "Hey Norm!" like they did on Cheers)
September is over! And October is here! And it seems we're doing "Healthy October", which I am all behind. September was... difficult, and then I got sick, but as Sue said- posting is everything. I've been able to lose this week even though I didn't do a lick of exercise.
I think I finally hit that magical metabolism thing, which is awesome.
In about 14 days, it will be my year reunion of when I started MFP. And I can't believe that I'm nearing 100 pounds lost. I'm at the half-way point in my journey, but it's still pretty remarkable.
I remember just 10 months ago when my friend hit her 100 pounds for her first year- that's pretty inspirational, if you ask me.
Other things I'm oddly happy about:
1) I'm almost on the BMI scale (at 40.8), and my FitBit ends at 40.
2) I wore out my first official pair of running shoes. Bought 2 more for replacements.
3) I now wear a size "21" in pants. Of course, that doesn't exist, but I'm comfy in a 20-W and 22's are easy.
4) I used to wear a size 32W.
5) I can get away wearing a 1X shirt. 2X is still more comfy, but I don't worry about 1X's anymore.
6) I used to wear a 4X in shirts.
7) If I wanted to, I could ride in a helicopter (weight limit is 250 pounds).
8) I fit in my own airplane seat. And the seatbelt buckles.
9) I can run in steel-toed shoes. Without getting winded. (Short distances, of course. But this wasn't even an option before.)
10) I had a bioscreen done a year ago, and that person on the paper doesn't even resemble me now. Amazing.
I think I'm going to start training for the 9/11 Memorial Stair climb coming up in a year (11 months away). I've never done something like that before, so if people have tips on how to break up the thing (110 flights of stairs), I'd love to hear it.
Have a great day, everyone! It seems our house is getting back on the wagon, but I find it important to remember why we're here to begin with. Hopefully my list reminds you. :bigsmile:0 -
Happy Sunday Ravenclaw! Today is my "down day" - I get to relax and do nothing. I spend the rest of my week "up" - available and on the go at work, home, school. I love my Sundays!
oh - and congrats Korkster on your progress! You've come a long way! :drinker:0 -
