I think she's just trying to seem more smart than she is in an attempt to burn you. My guess is she probably doesn't even know what demisexual is because it's really not of relevance in the whole post, it's just a fun two dollar word (...) that has the word "sexual" in it.

The combination of demisexual and sapiophile is what had me at a loss. I knew what sapiophile meant but had to look up demisexual. My take is that it means that primary sexual attraction does not exist that sexual attraction requires some sort of emotional attachment. (I know this is an over simplification). So the whole emotionally attachment for sexual attraction and sexual attraction to intelligence threw me off. It kind of says "you're a pretty smart guy. It's a good thing you got out early. There's a good chance if you didn't ditch me now, you would have ended up buried in my back yard."

I guess I could have responded with I don't know what demisexual or sapiophile mean. I am much more quantitatively inclined. I scored in the 97% and 99% percentiles on the analytical and quantitative sections of the GRE but the three Korean guys with whom I shared an office during grad school outscored me on the verbal section. None of those guys could pronounce "lettuce."

My interpretation was that "Attraction is complicated; *this* is my subcategory, so I understand. No hard feelings."

I confess that I tend to find myself fairly intelligent, but I had no idea what either word meant. And personally, I can't stand people who try to quote big words from the dictionary, who probably don't know what they mean either. I say, meh - thank god you got rid of her now!
