I have had some MAJOR stress in my life since last Wed.! My 2.5 yr old grandson drank some chrome cleaner (acid) & had to be flown to the Childrens Hospital in CO.. It was 100* that day & he thought it was a jug of water cuz it is clear. One swig but it took 5 days of testing, poking & prodding to get released from the hospital. He had burns (not BAD but still there) down his throat, stomach & vocal chords. My son, their 5 month old baby & I drove all night Wed night while mommy flew with him on the air ambulance. We were able to head out last night & got home this morning at 4:30. Got in lots of walking while pulling him around the hospital in the Red Rider wagons they provide. It kept him occupied & me moving! I thank God for a fast recovery. I walked today with my furries (who missed me while I was gone!) & rode the ex bike. I'm am very far behind & will have to get on the bike for more miles this week!

6.2 mile run/walk. Ran half of that. My 5K is in 12 days.

The running is coming in handy, had to run to a 'stork code' this morning - our equivalent of a 'code blue' - an imminent delivery not on our labor and delivery floor. This one was outside the doors of the next building, so it involved a quick run. I was just getting up to walk a few laps around the unit to stay awake when the code was called and as triage nurse last night, it's my job to go. Definitely woke me up. And the security guard who watched the woman get out of the car and take off her pants because the baby was coming.

Decided to walk to the office today since I had the time. Unfortunately, the weatherman was right about the 90F temperatures this afternoon. :o It definitely took longer to walk home than walk there. Plus I was always trying to find the shadiest side of the street when possible. (Not much shade anywhere at the time anyway). No, I didn't melt, and I did enjoy at least part of the walk, if not the heat.

Added 6.25 miles today. September total 31 miles

@kar328 I'm glad you were there. Just when you thought you would get a dull moment......

@anaconda469 Happy Anniversary! I'm so happy you are here.

@vhuber wow what a week. I'm glad it he was ultimately OK, but that had to be scary.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Monday and we all have a great Tuesday.

    8th: 8.25 miles purposeful walking MTD 43.23
Walking into town, 1.5 m, with DH and baby James in his buggy - poor little lamb has viral croup. Then another walk to attend a funeral - another 1.5 m. Then 2 m walking home from the wake. Then a final 3.25' ish stroll with DH - I've got about today. I'm so tired - partly from getting up very very early to pick up my grandson and take his mummy to work. I'm only supposed to have him Tuesday and Thursday, but he's clingy and staying with me rather than going to nursery.

    A fabulous achievement @anaconda469.
@vhuber my thoughts are with you and I hope the little man continues to get better.
@kar328 - love the concept of a 'stork code'. I'm sure it has its stresses, but it sounds so much more positive than 'code blue'.
