2.51 mile walk today. It's been an ugly few days so I wasn't able to get out. Last night, I had to put my bird, Merlin to sleep. He'd been going downhill for a few days. He was 25 3/4 and I've had hime since he was 3 months old so this was, and is very hard. Exercise and eating have fallen off track at the moment. Getting out today felt good though.0

Congratulations going out to lovemyalex and sussexbythesea on making goal! Great stuff.
Chris - congratulations! I love the smell of newborns too.
scarfe - I hope it is over soon too. Good luck to all the teachers going back to work. We appreciate you!
anaconda - take it easy and follow doctor's orders, ok?
kar328 - 25 years is a long time together. It must be really hard to say goodbye.
As for me, I'm back from California. Number 2 son has been deposited back at school Number 1 son leaves next week for his new job out west (college grad now employed!!!). And DH leaves on a fishing trip leaving me all alone. I'll miss them but I'm looking forward to the house staying clean LOL. I tried to walk the dogs on the beach today but we were attacked by black flies and had to cut it short. Still I've managed 70/75. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend as summer winds down.0 -
4.5 mile walk today

I want to thank everyone who kindly offered to donate miles to me. I deeply appreciate it. It looks like I may make it, no big bonus miles like I usually do. Weather is now in the 70's (100 yesterday) so Doc says I can be out cycling. Looks like this cooling is going to hold for the next few days.

@ Kar: I am so sorry to here about your bird. It is sad losing a friend and member of your family. I am sure he had a great life with you.
@Chris: Nothing like a new, sweet baby.
@Anaconda: So glad you made goal. Just the fact that you got all your miles despite your set back speaks a lot about your drive and determination. Hope you are feeling better. Put your body armour on when you go out. Take it slow.
@Janet: Glad you arrived home safely. Sounds like you have been busy. Congrats to your son and his new job. Enjoy your down time.
Put another four hours in at school today. It was nice of my principal to open up the building to us today and tomorrow.
Aug. 27: 21.34 miles of which I ran for 5 miles, cycled for 12.34 miles and walked 4 miles
