Sorry I’ve been MIA - new virus has laid me low. My husband has also had an emergency admission to hospital - IV fluids and antibiotics (during his 4 day stay I ate my body weight in biscuits and chocolate- he was poorly). The IU infection is cleared up, but we’re waiting a Urology appointment now.
@kar328 - fab news about the new job.
@Leanz - have wings on your heels and enjoy your marathon.
@sufferlandrian - I always suspected you were an old romantic..
@clepant - you will get through this year, day by day. Hopefully without too many headaches!!
As for forgetting @Dave .... we have NO room to complain. We’re just delighted that you have the energy to keep us updated at all.1 -

I just can't seem to get one more mile per day. I've been stuck on 23 mi for a while now. And Mr Dog biting me has still slowed me down. Oh well, just keep slogging away, it will come.

sufferlandrian wrote: »You guys talk about early snow like it's a bad thing. I'm still a little kid at heart. I love the first snow of the year. I like riding my bike in the snow as well. It usually means I have the bike path all to myself. I love almost everything about snow. I'm not fond of yellow snow or driving my truck in the snow. However, I love skiing, biking, and hiking in the snow. Most of all, I like sitting on the couch next to my wife with a cup of hot cocoa and just watching the flakes drift lazily through the air as the fall and coat everything with a beautiful covering of white.
I love running after a snow. It means no one out on the road. Unfortunately for me, riding bikes would be deadly as I would be splattered with slush or hit a pot hole or vehicle shrapnel. If I had beautiful scenery around me or I could just sit and enjoy it instead of praying my way through to and from work, it would be wonderful. I love how a fresh snow looks I the trees or how the light hits it but most of the time it means shoveling out my drive, my 84 yr old neighbors drive, my dad's house and running shovels on our school walks while I kids arrive at school. I am sure different situations would give me different perspectives. I have only been able to use my cross country skis once in the last number of years due to the quality and amounts.

@ Dave - loved the Friday the 13th cartoon!
@k80flec - so sorry to hear you and your husband have been unwell. I hope things are looking up.
I'm back in California checking on my ancient parents. Beautiful weather here but the fires are very scary.0 -
