I’m restarting my SBD lifestyle on January 1st 2018. I have had success on the plan however I allowed distraction to get in the way of my progress this past year.

I welcome your friend requests as we embark on this journey in 2018. I’ll provide mutual support!

I was going to do a phase 1 reset after a rough semester and the holidays. And, well, the hormones seemed to have finally really settled! I'll do it with you!

I've been re-reading the DASH diet weightloss solution as well, so my Phase 1 will have a bit of that as well (same basic thing).

Pulled out all my SBD cookbooks and I’m making my menu plans. I hope to try new recipes (for the whole family) every Sunday.

Has anyone found a good source/website for SBD type recipes. Pinterest has a bunch but a good portion of the links were invalid.

Wishing you all success in 2018!

    Today:
I ran 3 miles. And hubs and I walked two more.

Breakfast (odd, I know): hubs made a crock pot soup with the left over turkey, broth, celery and some spices.
    snack: babybel
Lunch: big fat salad with veg, chick peas, some nuts, some cheese and a low sugar dressing.
    snack: sugar free pudding
dinner: more turkey soup and some edamame
dessert: I DON'T apologize!!!!! Family is still here, so, some prosecco. Family leaves on Jan 3 and the wine goes away for two weeks.

let me suggest OnceUponAChef.com. So many of her recipes are VERY South Beach/Mediteranian friendly!

I am restarting phase 1 today! Holidays really threw me off! I bought the SBdiet cookbook. It's the one with recipes that take about 30 minutes. I've been using it for the past few months even though I haven't been following the plan. I have loved everything in it so far! Here's to a great start this year!

I've been doing WELL food wise, but have slipped with wine three times. I've told myself for each time I slip with wine, I do phase 1 for one more day. That's motivational!

GOING TO LOSE THE MENOPOUNDS in 2018!

Thank you, Sabine. And thank you dear, Silver, for the message...very sweet and appreciated!

Well, NS lasted a New York Minute. Back to what works best...SOUTH BEACH...with juicing. I love my fresh Joe's Mean green juice and carrot/orange...just have to make time get it done for the week. Make three days fresh, then freeze the other days, for when I am working.

Have three day weekends now, since I work 40 hours in four days...schedule is

    Friday 7am - 8 pm
    Saturday 8 am - 8 pm
    Sunday 10 am - 6 pm
    Monday 7 am - 2 pm

    Weekend: Tues/Wed/Thur Wonderful!

And this schedule makes my supervisor very happy. She loves that she can count on me on the real weekend...and the new gal works when she works so that if there were questions or situations, she is there to deal with it.

I just got a cortizone shot in my left knee...the pain was at a 10. So right now, I feel no pain...have three days off...time to get organized so that eating is basically South Beach. Lulu has about three more weeks inside ...since I live in shared outside greens, she has to be completely vaccinated before I will walk her in community grounds.

Ok, then...now to put this plan into action. My heart is still aching for Ernestine...but she got us here i.e., into our own home, in a great neighborhood...and now I have a little pup that needs a healthy, active me...so to honor the memory of my Ernestine I need to get to a really low weight of 125-130.

    Later with my menu.

    Check in:
Things are moving along for me! I had a spate of house guests, and lots of events to attend. That mucked things up a bit. But the house has quieted down, and I am focused.

I've been: eating at a deficit, eating mostly plants, lean protein, legumes, low fat dairy, soy.
I've been: walking at least 10k steps a day, going to yoga 3ish times a week and Pilates 2 times a week.
I've been: closing all my rings on my apple watch, which for me are set to: Move: Burn at least 550 calories working out; Stand: at least 12 hours have some standing a day; Exercise: at least 30 minutes a day.

I've not been drinking much of any wine (the big calorie buster, alas).

I've been craving Pho lately, so I made a Pho with miracle noodles and lean beef. Delicious and SO FILLING.
    Hubs loves it too.

Now, if only the scale would move.

    Cheers.

Just completed two weeks of phase 1 (pretty much a combo of SB and DASH). I had wine twice, so I'm doing another couple of days. The next "event" on my calendar is a late valentines dinner with hubs on Thursday.

The scale went down 2Lbs, so far. Ha. But hey, better than going up!

And boy have I been enjoying miracle noodles. The Pho I made was great. So great, we made it again a few days later, and two nights ago I made noodles with spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms and pesto. YUM.

Hey, is anybody out there? I've been AWOL since my husband died in January, but it's time to get back into my routine. I've tried to eat healthy, but it's not an easy thing when people bring and send baked goods! I think I've had more sugar since January than in the past 2 years combined. I hope everybody is doing well--I've missed you guys.

    Good Morning All...

Today's work schedule: 8 am to 8 pm Then HOME FREE Tomorrow is easy...10 - 6 and I am taking off Mondays off in March...and I have my usual tue wed thur off...so it's nice...NOW I just need to be more productive on my days off.

    Carrot Orange Juice and ?

    Yogurt

Tuna sand on Dave's Killer 60 cal...great bread!

almonds and walnuts and pear and laughing cow

    Green Juice

Salmon Tacos at home for dinner

My knees are a mess. I finally am doing something about it since I have the weekdays off and because Lulu needs a mom who can walk.

I had a cortizone shot in my left knee (the worst one...pain was at a ten) in January...first time in forever that I was walking without feeling my knees being there. OMG...what a relief. But just temp. Lasted five weeks.

Then the ok came through for Monovisc injections. Got them in both knees. My right knee really does not hurt, although it can't bend like it should. But the left one is the killer knee. I have gotten some relief...but sleep time is the worst. I have these things called PARADICE ice bags...I slip on on during the night to allow me to finally fall back asleep. http://www.paradicepacks.com/welcome/

I have a stash in the freezer to always have a frozen one on hand. Highly recommend them.

Anyway...it has just been two weeks since the shot and supposedly it takes a bit of time to take full effect. Here's hoping. I sure would love to get to the bike and treadmill...but actually, I just need to be able to walk and play with Lulu pain free.

Hope you are doing ok, Silver...my heart goes out to you...please know I am thinking about you and sending you hugs from Lulu and me.

I know you are doing super, Sabine...always looking for something new to help us along.

    Have a great day.
