Saturday, at the age of 63, I competed in my first powerlifting competition. I made all 9 lifts and had personal records for all three lifts for my current body weight. Not only did Squat 52.5 kilos (115.74 pounds), Bench Press 37.5 kilos (82.67 pounds), and Deadlift 92.5 kilos (20pounds), but while they were work, they weren't hard. Then, that evening I went to a Christmas party and stayed Keto!
Woohoo! My curious mind sent me to a conversion chart. The deadlift didn't seem quite right given the other numbers. Has a missing zero. Not 20 but 200 pounds! Thumbs up on ALL counts!6 -
Was physically able to remove and replace the alternator on the wife's car this morning then go to the office. For the past two hours helped the daughter with some financial aid application since she received her college acceptance letter today. Now I am at the movies feeling great.
Before I went LCHF October 2014 if I had tried this it would have been very painful and layed me up for 3 days.

My NSV for today is to acknowledge myself for sticking with it and holding my ground.
Here's the story:
I first lost a total of 145 pounds on keto 2 years ago. That was amazing.
In maintenance I regained 35. Some of which I'm okay with because I found I look and feel better at a weight about halfway between. So about 20 pounds is the regain I've been struggling to relose for two years now....with zero success; and, I'm just repeating a life long yo- yo pattern with those 20 pounds that has me sooooo frustrated and keeps me feeling stuck in a food disorder thinking pattern.
So, for today...I'm congratulating myself on keeping off the 110 pounds that I have lost for two years.
That is really a big thing as in the past I would have-and did yo-yo back up the whole amount- plus more on several occasions!
For today I am stating that I am proud of my really big loss and will not begrudge myself feeling successful because I'm still tackling the 20 regain pounds.
I'm so much healthier in all aspects of my life, not just looks, and I should feel good about that, instead of dwelling on my current struggles with basically what amounts to as vanity weight.
So for today, it's confetti, sparklers, and party time in my mind. I have kept most of this weight off for 2 years!! That is really something!20 -
Today I went for my usual 3.1 mile walk at lunch...even though it's cold outside, and I'm in a dress, and I didn't remember to bring leg warmers or wear tights...I survived with bare legs...it's cold, but not frostbite-risk cold.10

Finally getting some purple ketostix action again. I know they aren't considered reliable....but when I see pink or purple it does really motivate me! Totally psyched!! Another tool in the toolbox.9

Trying to keep the faith alive after a slow start to the New Years resolutions with acknowledgement of MFP connections as a long term NSV.
Daily Logging, posting, weigh ins, measurements, and being part of this community whether I'm on a weightloss roll or falling on my face.. are all a big part of the successes that I've managed to put together so far. Really using the Fitness Pal tools every day keeps me activated and invested in all aspects of keeping a healthy body and good mindset.
I'm honest about what goes on in my food diary- good or not good - so I have pretty solid knowledge built up over the course of time, of what goes on in my body and how things affect it. I can't always adhere to the plan the way I hope to, but I always know what I have to do to get the results I'm after...even after a long slip up. This helps with my peace of mind.
Because I show up every day, I have friends here so I never really feel alone in this body/food struggle. Sometimes I get support...sometimes I give it.
To me, these are some really valuable NSVs.

Panicked the other day because my belt is a bit on the tight side. Then I realized when I dressed I put in the next never used hole and did not notice it until after I had lunch.14

I can wear my wedding ring again...It's been over 5 years since I've worn it.16

I've been wearing 34 pants for over a year but have kept a pair of 36's in the closet just in case. I think it's time to get rid of those suckers.13

Today I am wearing my Deadpool leggings under my dress...they are baggy...leggings are not supposed to be baggy, but I'll take it and they will still keep me warm!!!11

Yesterday I bought XL leggings at Walmart and when i came home they were TOO BIG. Best feeling ever.9

This morning I confirmed with my DC of 18 years that I do have movement in joints that have not moved in the past 18 years due to the self fusing nature of Ankylosis Spondylitis. I have been keto/lchf for over three years now. To test reports that high levels of D3/K2 can lower Coronary Calcium Scores I boosted my levels of both to an extreme but it will be at least May before I get another CAC and I was wondering it it would have an impact to calcium deposits on the outside of my joints. I just hope the external calcium deposits are clearing the body and not creating damage elsewhere. N=1 one studies can be stressful but I am excited at this point. The next CAC scoring will tell the tell.12

Ooh, @GaleHawkins - I can't wait to see these results. I know what I'm expecting to see, so this is a fun one.0

I liked my body today. I was doing a seated twist with a mirror behind me, and when I saw my reflection over my shoulder I thought, “Hey, that looks good!” Not tolerable; not strategically concealing my flaws; not okay for someone my size; just actually...good.
Next goal is to feel that way from another angle, then another.10 -
Good luck Gale! Your story has been inspiring to me. Would love to see you add another chapter of success!2

Me too! I hope you share your results and that they are even better than hoped for!
