3200m of what I call TOO. MUCH. IM. And it would have been even more IM if I was faster and got to the back end of the masters workout (which had another 200 IM and 100 dolphin kick)

short China trip. Too short for the gym.
And they put me in an apartment that has no public transport to the office. If I didn't have arthritis in my feet this wouldn't be an issue.
3 to 4 miles a day of less than comfortable walking.

3100y today. Not a lot of juice in me. Trail run yesterday was a slog. Water X class about put me over tonight, but I’ve got a volcano to climb in August!1

A week of adult swim club and forgot to post/
Strokes and more strokes, distance and mo distance. 1600 to 1800m per session x 3
Blackjack session was no fun. Roll a dice to see what drills you were going to do. Seemed to like 4 = dryland drills.
I did get a T-shirt for a 3rd place in what is called the Alexander Mackenzie Swim ( early explorer of Canadian wilderness ). Basically log your distance's over a 3 month period ( Jan-March ). It's a way of getting people out to the pool during the dark days of winter and fight the seasonal blah's.1 -
Well - I went to the pool atleast..
Picked a really bad time - just as they closed all but one of the lanes (for swim club / lessons erc) and so it was just one widish stretch of the pool for all the kids having a splash, any adults trying to swim or pose. Etc etc. Total dogems.
I gave up after 10 mins and went to the deep end and did aqua-jogging, and 'upright' kicking drills. My legs are pretty tired now. I managed to keep interested for 20 mins or so.,,,
Still - the take out veggie curry I picked up on the way home was very good... that part of the trip worked just fine!2 -

Just checking - are we using the 'woo' as 'yee hah' or as 'rubbish' in this group?! ?!
It has always been a positive group without the snide stuff you get in a lot of the forums - where 'woo' is most nearly always intended as 'rubbish'!
We have a fair few 'woo' s creeling in - but given the above I am determindly reading them all as 'hurrahs'.
Which reminds me - hip hip hurray curly on that 2 miles!

I've always seen it as Woohoo! A very positive cheering for the poster.
After all, we are here to find as well as deliver encouragement.
(The first time I did a 10k swim in a pool, an open water snoot made a sarcastic comment. I ignored the idjut. )0 -
Yep woo to me is woohoo or cheering someone's achievement.0

After several false springs, it appears spring is here in Minnesota (after we had a foot and a half of snow dumped on us not but 8 days ago), so I'm diving back into biking with gusto. Should be fun (and by fun I mean flirting with disaster) to see how dumping 100-150 miles of biking on top of my already pretty busy workout schedule goes. Weeeee!!!!
Lakes are still mostly frozen over, but in theory only 2 months until open swim season!
Biked to the pool for master swim this morning, made it in a little later than normal and had to leave a bit early for work, so only 2000m

Wow. So many good swims. Yes, gently, I think in this group, "woo" means "WooHoo!!!!" I've never seen a snarky comment among the peeps here. Probably why I always come here first! I think you and I would make good lane buddies, especially if veggie curry take out is the reward...
Mediocre swims here lately. Bummer. I had been feeling really strong and particularly floaty lately, but I think my body is tired. I'm always working on muscle memory, and I think when I'm fatigued, it's the first thing to go. I have been pushing myself to stay at a decent distance. It seems that lately just showing up is worth some credit3 -

Missed logging the last 2 Adult swim Club sessions. Unfortunately that's it for the year so back to dog paddling all by myself. I find it so much easier to get out with an organized group and a planned session. Will have to do a better job in the next 5 months until the Fall session's start.
@emmab0902 You are to hard on yourself. ( I have the same problem with my running )
You always have these amazing/inspiring swim sessions with so many great drills that we can all learn from.1 -

My swims are entirely front crawl or drills related to it (kicking usually). Yesterday was the first time in ages that I felt like my legs were getting used to kicking the same during a regular swim as they were during a drill. I couldn't maintain it for the entire swim set, but on and off I felt like my body was remembering bits and pieces of what it was supposed to be doing. My right leg seems to stop kicking when I breathe on that side. It was a quiet pool, thankfully. I think everybody is out running, hiking, walking, gardening, whatever they can do do be outside in the sun. I love an empty pool!2
