This is not your grandmother's calculation method ! lol

Holy crap! This says I am at a healthy weight. My BMI is 26 and that is usually still considered over weight. Interesting...

    HFM Training - Week 15

    Sunday - Rest
Monday - 18 km long run
    Tuesday - Rest
    Wednesday - Rest
    Thursday - 4 km fartlek

    Friday - 8 km steady
Saturday - Optional 6 km steady

My little guy was sick yesterday, so missed my run. Was still pretty stiff from my long run anyway. At this point in training, it is important to hit the long runs, so that’s the focus. Have really been craving salt this week (not normally a salt person) & this is a real issue when running in hot weather. Some runners even take salt supplements & carry salt packs on long runs. Have been upping my salt intake & it is working. My gradual carb loading has begun & will intensify in about a week. The Runner’s World book on marathon & half marathon nutrition has been amazing during my training. Am following their carb loading plan, which is very healthy & reasonable (no entire loaves of bread & bags of chips, unfortunately!)

Welcome back Scotty!! Bianca, same result with the SBMI! I will have my annual physical late summer, and am going to ask my doctor about it.

Am going to try to do the 6 km tomorrow, but the royal wedding is my priority! Not much of a wedding or royalty person, but love fashion & cannot wait to see the wedding dress, accessories & other outfits!! So yes, will wake up at 6:30 am on a Saturday to watch!! Have a good weekend all!!

    I know right !?!
    Isn’t it great ?!
I’m at 27 on their chart and also in the healthy weight rage.
I had put in my goal weight of 135 and the thing said something like “going to a lower weight will not make you healthier”
    What a concept !
    I like SmartBMI !

Lol, me too!! Was out late Friday but up at 6:30 am & my boys watched with me!! No run yesterday given the sleep deprivation!! Loved how she incorporated so much of her American & African-American heritage. The Mulroney kids represented Canada beautifully! It was lovely & they are so in love!! It put me in a great mood! Have lots of observations about the fashion but too much to write here. The wedding dress was controversial but I think it was stunning! Just watch for the copycat trends for wedding & regular dresses!!

    HFM Training - Week 16

    Sunday - Rest
    Monday - 10 km steady

    Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - 20 km long run
    Thursday - Rest
Friday - 6 km race pace
    Saturday - Rest

Second last week of training! Aside from carb loading, am starting tapering, so less runs & distance to race day. One more really long run until race day! Am really trying not to put on weight in these next two weeks & my body composition scale will help on that, I hope.

Sick child at home, so no 20 km run today. Will do it tomorrow or Friday depending upon how my son is doing. He was stung by a wasp last week, but had a delayed allergic reaction & a bunch of hives yesterday. He is ok & on prescription antihistamines now which are working. I had no idea that people could have delayed allergic reactions! Just when I think that I have this parenting thing mastered, something new comes up!

OK, 20 km done! It was very hot out, even early morning & walked the last two km for my back to stretch All things considered, not bad and the first 12 km were really great. I am signing off until race day on June 3rd. I have a couple of shorter runs next week and will be doing yoga, finalizing my playlist for the race and trying to get mentally ready. Am happy that I managed not to put on weight this week. Have to admit that given my calorie burn today, I have been eating a lot of forbidden food this afternoon (a doughnut, 3 ice cream sandwiches). It’s like pregnancy cravings! Thank you my fierce friends for your inspiration and support!! Have a great weekend!!

    Great work Lisa !!!!!!!!
It is soo inspiring to read your training journey.
I am reliving my running days through you :)
I started my season too by switching off the Beast Cardio to a run outside and I am surprised at my "natural pace ". I am faster than the previous years and this is at the start of a season ! The 25+ pounds I have shed from last summer as well as at the strength training sure made a difference and that's motivating !!!
Anyway, I love reading your posts. It keeps me excited about it and ahhhhh what to say about that Runner's High, right ?!
    Delicious.
Have fun on this last stretch !!!!!!!!
