So as I mentioned as soon as the calendar rolls over the June, it gets crazy busy! I will try to check in more often this week. I coached my girls in a provincial championship yesterday. We went undefeated all day, but lost in the finals. Second in NB is pretty darn good! Today my son won a lacrosse championship! Crazy week ahead, but my report cards are done. I have been tracking but didn't make it to pound class. Glad everyone is doing well!

I mean sure, there are many potentially dangerous critters.. But none of them actually want to mess with people. So it's really only accidental encounters to be wary of. To limit that I simply stomp when I'm walking in the bush and look out for spiders under things and in wood piles. Ironically, you have more apex predators in your countryside, bears, mountain lions, angry moose, etc. We only have crocs and I'm too far south for those. Funny thing is, I'm cool with snakes and spiders. But I freak out over roaches and grasshoppers lol. And the only things near my property that I'm genuinely concerned by are feral pigs, dogs and humans.

Hey, just since I'm on the subject. Recently I've been struggling to understand why my property has basically no spiders.

Then I discovered some inhabitants that explained it. My property has a healthy little population of a tiny carnivorous marsupial called an Antechinus and they love to eat spiders. So it's really quite cool to not have to worry about every bit of firewood I pick up down there.

I would like to be the Pied Piper and have a bunch of those little guys following me around and eating all the spiders. I would love to have them as pets and let them take care of those creepy bugs. That would be FANTASTIC.
I'm ok with grasshoppers. The creepy spider crickets though.... those need to go.
    Also, flying roaches. NO.
When I lived in Hawaii, there was nothing worse than being dive bombed by a giant 3 inch flying roach. It was HORRIBLE!!
Do you think the Antechinus would eat roaches, too?

@jennfalzon1979 Happy Birthday to your daughter! So cute!!!

    Daily post
tracking - yes so far, have dinner left
calories - so far so good
exercise - miserable 5 mile run

Ran 9 yesterday and the ankle was sore today. BUT, today was forecasted to be the coolest day of the week (70's and low humidity) so it really was the best day to run. It was tough - still a bit warm and the ankle was definitely sore.

This week's goal to run at least 2 mornings before work, and a long run (10 miles) on the weekend. Currently the weekend weather is looking super hot :#

I may have had a little too much wine yesterday :# Have got to get back on track, one day at a time!

Having a bad week hardly made it to the gym. And having a stressful day at work just made me comfort eat. Think it’s time to find a new job.
