The first day of the trip went great! We started off hot & sweaty in the upper 80's and by after noon the temp had dropped to lower 60s and we were bundling up. Lots of great scenery. The trees have already begun changing colors in far nothern Wisconsin and Michigan. We also saw several bald eagles, wild turkey and several whitetail deer...a little too up close one of the times. But we arrived in Iron Mountain, MI safely and none worse the wear. Off to Traverse City today after crossing the Mackinac Bridge. Can't wait!
Have a great day!
Dave

Had a nasty reaction to a new prescription med last week. Boy OH boy what a mess I have been. Finally got a good ride in today, I have been riding but not feeling all that great. Today was way better. To say that very expensive med has got the heave ho is an understatement. Just out a few hundred dollars.

Dave,
You are going through my home away from home. Indian River Michigan and my Burt Lake is my little piece of heaven since I have been five years old. Give it a hello from Char as you pass by on your way to Mackinac. You might like Petoskey. It is such a lovely town coming off the Little Traverse Bay.1 -
Sept. 18: Adding 10 agonizing miles today. Three walking with two falls because my knee gave out. It is good I still know how to tuck and roll. Brush burned my left elbow and was so glad no one that I know of saw me either time. Just glad it did not happen while crossing a major road. Then I went across the street to trim my elderly neighbors shrubs and wiped out in her driveway. Fortunately I threw myself in the next neighbors yard and rolled down her bank. When my husband came over, he saw me sitting there and asked if I was taking a break. My 95 yr old dad asked me if I wanted one of his walkers...lol.Completed 7 very easy miles on X bike. Guess it’s back to the ortho doctor to see what is going on with my knee and possibly cleaning it out.
Ttd: 180 miles

@cpanus - That was a COLD wind this morning. I put pants on for the first time this season to commute home. It must have been even colder where you are.

@cpanus - I thought having time off was going to help you heal these problems. You're just not taking time off. You just switched what you're doing.
@anaconda469 - Sorry to hear about the reaction to the meds. Glad you're doing better now.1 -
@CLEPANT - Been loving the U.P. of Michigan, Char, and the Mackinac Bridge was really fun to ride across! Such an amazing view. And several of the places after that have been gorgeous as well...Petosky, Charlevoix, and M119 was an amazing road with so many beautiful houses with a view of Lake Michigan!

Dave, we need pictures.
Adding 1.1 miles. Forgot to set my alarm, looked at the clock and it was the time I'd be at the gym, almost made it a rest day, then decided to go. I ran a slow mile and did a lot of foam rolling and stretching. Glad I went, worked sucked so that kept it from this day being a total bust.
