@kar328 - I’m glad you’re safe and surviving the storms
@vhuber - as ever, you leave me stunned with your energy. I’m reeling from your squat and lunge challenge
@Just_Ceci - thank goodness for helmets. I hope you’re getting over your tumble.
@sufferlandrian - is this the same vacancy, still to be filled from a year ago ..... if I could help out, I would.
@Chris - how have you hurst your heel, it’s not the dreaded Piriformis??
Thank you for your thoughts and good wishes. Hopefully life is looking a little more ‘normal’ for me and mine (whatever normal means!!)
@Dave and @Janet - enjoy your travels with/visits to loved ones.
Edited to add @Dave 7/8 padlocks and chains

Sept. 16: Hoping our temporary roof patch holds as we brace for the remains of Florence.
Yesterday I screwed up my right knee and feel like I strained a ligament and did something to my medial meniscus. Just resting it the best I can. I did some light walking and cut grass for two hours on intervals to get it done before rain hits the next two days.

Hey group! Gosh things have been soooo busy for me that I haven't put in any miles for like 4 days! Been moving furniture back after doing paint touch ups & got vents, electrical covers, doors & etc painted. What a domino effect painting becomes! We've also been helping the carpenter get the church wrapped up to be moved onto a new foundation. Gotta help finish things up on Tuesday & the mover arrive Thursday. Have had to attend the lake associations year end meeting & attend a friends benefit for cancer expenses! It will be busy again this week with more painting, helping the carpenter, taking dogs to the vet, attending our grandsons soccer game that's 1.5 hrs away, go meet our son from Arkansas who works in ND for dinner Wed night and Friday I have to make food for my mothers memorial service that will be held Sat. I HOPE to get in fast miles from the ex bike so I don't get too far behind.1

Was involved in a 13 week weight loss/fitness challenge with some friends. Each week had an additional mini challenge to complete. I am continuing to do some of those mini challenges even now that it is over. One week was to park at the far end of the parking lot wherever you go. I started parking at the farther lot at the gym and continue to do that. I don't mind getting a little extra sweaty from walking (I live in FL...still super hot here) to and from the gym. At work I also park on the other side of the building from the door I go in. Another challenge was pairing something you normally do with something else. I am still doing squats while I brush my teeth. Not major accomplishments, but minor changes that make me feel better.3 -

And there's @anaconda469 sailing past the goal line. Congrats!
@Lisah8969 - Little changes are the ones that stick. Way to go!
@vhuber - you make me tired, girl!
I want to apologize to everyone for not updating yesterday. The internet went out at the place I was staying and I just couldn't find a way to get on line and do the update. I'm home now (and very tired!) and hoping I've got everyone caught up. Thanks.1 -

The first day of the trip went great! We started off hot & sweaty in the upper 80's and by after noon the temp had dropped to lower 60s and we were bundling up. Lots of great scenery. The trees have already begun changing colors in far nothern Wisconsin and Michigan. We also saw several bald eagles, wild turkey and several whitetail deer...a little too up close one of the times. But we arrived in Iron Mountain, MI safely and none worse the wear. Off to Traverse City today after crossing the Mackinac Bridge. Can't wait!
Have a great day!
Dave

Had a nasty reaction to a new prescription med last week. Boy OH boy what a mess I have been. Finally got a good ride in today, I have been riding but not feeling all that great. Today was way better. To say that very expensive med has got the heave ho is an understatement. Just out a few hundred dollars.

Dave,
You are going through my home away from home. Indian River Michigan and my Burt Lake is my little piece of heaven since I have been five years old. Give it a hello from Char as you pass by on your way to Mackinac. You might like Petoskey. It is such a lovely town coming off the Little Traverse Bay.1 -
Sept. 18: Adding 10 agonizing miles today. Three walking with two falls because my knee gave out. It is good I still know how to tuck and roll. Brush burned my left elbow and was so glad no one that I know of saw me either time. Just glad it did not happen while crossing a major road. Then I went across the street to trim my elderly neighbors shrubs and wiped out in her driveway. Fortunately I threw myself in the next neighbors yard and rolled down her bank. When my husband came over, he saw me sitting there and asked if I was taking a break. My 95 yr old dad asked me if I wanted one of his walkers...lol.Completed 7 very easy miles on X bike. Guess it’s back to the ortho doctor to see what is going on with my knee and possibly cleaning it out.
Ttd: 180 miles
