Hey all!
I'm finally back from a long, much needed vacation! If it's too late to officially join, that's ok! I'll still just post for accountability if that's alright
Week 1
caitlynns727
Previous: 181.5 (yikes! Big weight gain on vacay)
Current: 179.1
Not surprised by the gain at all. All-inclusive is just too good to resist! Hoping to get down to 170 before the end of the year4 -
November 7
Exercised?: Yes (5km in 39 mins - hills).
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Little rain today, but cold for this time of year. Good walk before lunch.
My wife saw her Diabetes specialist today. He was "blown away" with the progress she had made. 19kg (40 lbs) lighter than last time she saw him. Hb1AC down from 8.2 to 4.8 (and over 2 months with no insulin injections). She has also been taken off one of the 3 oral medications (glyade from memory) and permission to take self off others (one at a time) if the blood sugar readings remain low. LDL cholesterol also lower.
She will be the first type 2 diabetes patient he has had that looks like having a complete reversal of symptoms.
Eventual aim is to be off ALL medication.
Needless to say, my wife was overjoyed with the outcome (and so am I).3 -
That's awesome @craigo3154. Tell your wife congrats!1

Gotcha down for Wednesday! Great start to the month!0 -
Another day, another opportunity for a fresh start. I bolted awake at 2 am this morning (stress will do that to me), looked at election results and news for an hour, closed my eyes for another hour, then gave in to the lure of work and got busy at 4am.
I actually prefer early am starts, but only if my body insists that I wake up. Hearing an alarm is a sure-fire way to ensure that I will not leave my bed.
So far so good on avoiding sweets today. I've stayed on track for meals, got my exercise in, had my protein drink which seems to help with muscle mass retention, and while I've had some extra peanuts today than I ordinarily would have, I feel like for being up over 12 hours already, I'm doing ok.
I'm hopeful that by staying away from sweets today, I'll have a good foundation to stay away from them tomorrow, and be on my way to weight loss again instead of maintenance.5 -

@craigo3154 Hurray for your wife! And for you! Through weight loss you've both changed your lives together for the better, bringing in more activity, more hope, and more ability to plan for a long future together! I hope you get to enjoy a long happy walk together soon, and for many evenings hereafter!

Calories: Yes. Attempting to up my calories slowly as I feel I lost too much last week. Finding a happy medium! Still within my 1380, but trying to be closer to that number instead of way under it.
Exercise: Yes. Today was technically my rest day but I went to the gym and did a really easily 1.5 mile run and planking Tabata.2 -

Totally off the rails today. Hubby had an angiogram that shows he has "subclavial steal syndrome" meaning his subclavial artery (where he already has a stent) is blocked or partially blocked which results in blood being routed (stolen) from the arteries supplying his brain to the areas being starved for blood. We'll know more in a day or so what treatment/surgeries will be required to fix this. I know, this is not an excuse to overeat, but I am. If I were a drinker I'd probably drown my stress in vodka.6 -
