3400m solo swim. Including a timed 2000m at a comfortable cruise pace - need to start doing some continuous swims if I'm going to do a marathon swim next year!

    200 warmup

    2000 free (15.26)

    400 mixed kick and swim

2x 200 alt free and back

    400 warmdown

Only 3.3km Friday morning. Had the road trip after work. Overnight at a bad hotel. Bad "breakfast buffet" Saturday morning. I only had 2 hardboiled eggs from it.
Tomorrow, i'll try a long swim to make up for 48 hours off.

I just couldn't seem to stop today. o:)
Set a new personal swimming distance record.
    20km in 7 hours 9minutes.
The 17.6km mark was 9 minutes shorter than September.
    Average pace, 3 seconds faster.
I am a fan of EFS now, for sure.
No stimulants. Just high levels of electrolyte replacement and 96 carb calories per serving.
    I felt as good at 15.6km as I did at 6 6km.

I'll never be able to get fast enough to compete. But I am still inspired by those who do complete.

What are your goal times for your events? Do you do USRPT training?

I am going to attemptto shift some focus to sprint sets and try to improve my sustainable pace. I'm sure the young swimmers in Shanghai will be happy to help me sprint a little. :D

1km this morning - not the best thing to do strength training and then expect a longish swim. Arms were having none of that nonsense

Managed 2,500 with Masters on Sunday after about a month off. It felt [painfully] good.

1km again - was going to be 3, but I couldn't get out of bed, then I couldn't be bothered in the pool. And the universe rewarded my laziness by having the shower soak my bag and clothes so I spent an age drying them.

    Good start to day haha

2650m with a friend. One of those sessions that looks relatively benign on paper, but is actually heinous in practice!

    8x 50 RIMO

2x 400 kick fins every 4th length max

4x 25 pull paddles reduce stroke count per 25

150 pull paddles holding lowest stroke count.

6x 100 alt back and br by 100 with 20s rest
(I was dying by this point)

    600 warmdown

Don't think I have ever felt like my arms had nothing left like I did today.

Traffic... With my adjusted work schedule, I leave 15 minutes later than previous years. Doesn't seem like much, but it's translated into a 45 minute swim vs 1hour+ :disappointed: However, I have added lifting 2 days/week, so I knew my pool time was going to be shortened. Just keep getting there. It's winter. It's dark. It's rainy. It's damn cold. But "it's what I do." So, I got 1 mile and change. And then had an awesome water cardio class with some great intervals (not too many!) and some more extended cardio. It's all good.
