Well good morning everyone. I can't believe it is December already. Time sure does fly by. My name is Cyndie and I am one of the Team captains along with @sleepymom5 . I have been with this group since September 2017. I started my weight loss journey January of 2017 when I had reached my highest weight of 196 pounds. I am only 5 foot tall so that was a lot of mass to stack on this short little frame. Currently, I weigh 147.5 pounds and need to loose about 10 more pounds. So with the help and support of my Teammates and friends here I have lost a total of 45 pounds. I use the simple calories in/calories out method (ci/co). I have towards the last couple of months payed a little closer attention to my macros only because my blood sugar is still borderline diabetic. My main form of exercise is walking and yoga. I have some sort of chronic pain condition. None of the experts can seem to agree on what it is so I just call it chronic pain. I have been ill since 2011 and they (the supposed experts who can't even agree on what it is) don't believe that my pain will go away.
My fiance proposed to me at last christmas and i said yes. We will be getting married in the late spring next year. I have 2 adult children. I live in Michigan. My oldest is a mentally handicapped 33 year old man who lives on his own but is still very dependent on me to live his life. My youngest is a 28 year old man who lives in Florida. I have two grandchildren, one is 12 and one is 4. I live in michigan and work full time as an office manager of a finance company. My parents are both 86 and my mother has been extremely sick the last few months. So i spend lots of time with doctors visits, hospitals and physical therapy. Besides getting to know one another, the reason i tell you all of this is because i want you to see first thing that life happens and i have been losing weight anyway. It is all a choice. If you want it bad enough you will do what it takes to make it happen in spite of your hectic chaotic life.
I am an open book. I come here and tell the good, the bad, and the ugly. It is the way this works.
So now on to Team business:
I ask that you please check in daily or more if you please. But minimally daily. Many of us here check in with the following format.
Check in for: Thursday
Logged food: yes, on track
Water: 64 oz
Steps or exercise: 10000 and 30 minutes of yoga
You can check in daily however you want really, just as long as your check in. So if you go to November's Thread (this link will take you there https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10703782/team-weight-no-more-november-2018-chat-room/p1) you can read thru some of the posts. You will kinda see how we do it. But again, do it how you want just check in.
So come on in and introduce yourselves. Tell us a little about yourselves and what your goals are. Lets get healthy together, "One day at a Time" Oh yea, and feel free to visit last months thread and read thru it if you'd like, it will give you a little feel of who we are. And please star this in your favorites so it is easy to get too.
Now, our new way to weigh in on weigh in day:
User ID: Cyndiesstuff
Week Number: Week 1
Previous weight: 147.5
Current weight: 147.5
Steps: 72000
Now you will see we have included steps for the week. It is a new thing we just started. If you don't track you don't have to, It is not a requirement. But if you do track, give us your weekly total and we will include it on our spreadsheet.

Hi Everyone! My name is Pam. I am one of the captains along with @cyndiesstuff I am from the suburbs of Philadelphia. During the summer I am mostly at the Jersey Shore. I have been married 28 years and have 5 children 26-18. I am a nurse but semi retired, I actually am starting a new job at the end of January. I am not sure how I feel about it because it is a "desk" job and I am used to moving and doing patient care. However, if I want to spend the summers at the shore, this is a perfect option for me.
Funny, I was never overweight, although I always thought I was fat growing up. I gained A TON of weight with my pregnancies and ended up at 221lbs. Unfortunately that ended up being my heaviest even when I wasn't pregnant . At the end June of 2012 I decided I either had to get serious and lose weight or accept that I am obese and live my life. I got a fitbit and joined MFP on July 1, 2018. Since then, I have gained and lost 30 or more pounds a few times.
I have never gotten back to that starting weight but have gotten close. Although I haven't been as successful with my weight loss as I would like, I have learned a lot. I eat so much healthier than I used to. I also am in pretty good shape, I love to hike, walk, kayak and bike. Actually anything outdoors I usually enjoy. I do have a home gym in PA which has a bike, treadmill, elliptical, weights and a few other things. I also see a trainer twice a week when I am in PA. I really have no excuse not to exercise. I had been derailed since March but finally got back on track in August. I gained about 15 lbs during that time. I am slowly getting it off but I feel like things are going to be different this time.
This team really helped get me out of my slump. This is more than just weighing in weekly. The checking in daily really helps keep me focused. I also learn a lot from everyone and also get support when I need it.
I look forward to another great month with everyone AND our new members!!

My name is Patsy, I am 66 years old, married with 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren. I have been on MFP for several years, daily for almost four years. I reached my highest weight 180 about two years ago and have dropped to 163 this summer. Gained a few this fall and am ready to drop them and more by the end of the year.
I usually do water aerobics twice a week and try to walk as much as possible mostly around the house. I volunteer at a public school library one morning a week and in the office at church one or two mornings a week.
I do not like cold weather - makes me hungry and most of the time just want to wrap myself up in warm blankets and read! I am trying to change that.
My plan is to have a cup of water before breakfast, no more than two small snacks a day, and small portions at meal time. Step count anywhere from 5,000 to 7500 per day or more.7 -

Hello everyone!
I am Lenka (32y). I live in PA but originally from Europe.
I have been trying to lose on and off for years but never really committed fully until past October.
I have been counting calories, walking and lifting weights for exactly 6 weeks now and I’m down about 10 pounds and seeing my body getting back where it should have been is amazing!
I have a daughter 3.5y old. I gained 50 pounds with my first pregnancy and I’m almost at my pre pregnancy weight now. (Shame)
My current weight is 155 and I’m trying to get down to 132-135 with a lot of muscle. Hopefully lol
We have a nice home gym in basement bc my husband has been lifting for past 20 years (since he was 15) so it’s easy for me to get work outs done, and truly I finally feel like I’m enjoying it now for the first time ever in my life! I lift 3 times a week.
I also have been walking a lot- about 100 000 steps a week (12-15k a day) but it may slow down with colder weather.
I can’t wait to get to know you all better and support each other!
I’m excited

Hello everyone
I'm Arfa. I'm 29 years old, mother of 2. I have always struggled with my weight since my teens. I'm currently 198 ish which is way more than my normal Bmi. I'm a house wife living in Kuwait and there is literally nothing to do Much. I do all house chores by myself but that's all.
I was once a part of this group till 2017 when I got pregnant with my second. I have lost about 22 lb while partcipating in this challenge so I'm Back once again. I have set mini goals for me like 180s. All I want is to incorporate more activity into my routine.
Best of luck to all4 -
Hello everyone & welcome new members! This is a great, supportive group! We post a lot of stuff, not just weight & fitness related.
My name is Kirsten, I am 46 years old, married for over 19 years, I have 2 sons, 18 & 14 and I work full-time for a financial company. I live in NJ, right outside NY. I have been on MFP since May 2012 and part of this group since it started in July 2016 I believe. I am also a Lifetime member of WW. I am currently within my WW goal weight, but I am still trying to lose more for my personal goal. I had been struggling since the beginning of 2018, I finally got back on track in October. I workout 5-7 days/week. I do the elliptical at the gym 3-4 times/week and do DVD's at home the other days, they include aerobics and weights. I also started following 16:8 IF (intermittent fasting), which has really been helpful for me.
I can't believe 2018 is almost over. I am really hoping to be at goal by the end of the year. If not, I should be very close. Good luck to everyone! We can do this!5 -
Hello everyone,
My name is Anne-Marie. I have spent most of my life overweight/ obese. I come from a big family. I am 41 and have a 5 year old daughter. Whilst pregnant I developed gestational diabetes. I was told that having GD increased my chances of type 2. As literally everyone in my family has it I thought the odds of my developing it were certain if I didn't do anything about it. So I did WW and got to my goal weight I have bounced around my goal weight for 4 years. I have found ww on its own was not enough to keep me interested so I started running graduated to joining a triathlon club. In September I started working full time for the first time in about 6 years before that I was doing a mix of part time and freelance. Working the hours and the commute is making it challenging for me to train. Also there is food everywhere in the office and it is quite frenetic. My friend has recommended the LDMN programme which is basically clean eating but tracking through mfp with strength and conditioning workouts. I don't like s&c much so any tips to make those gym sessions more interesting would be really gratefully received.
People have said that I am mad for starting this before Christmas but my argument is that there is never a good time to do something tricky and you just have to do the best with what you have. So I will be trying to navigate the festive season which is really daunting but I have managed to lose weight over Christmas before and enjoy it.
My goal weight is 126lbs. I hope to lose a 1lb a week slow and steady. I don't like to sacrifice too much. I find with calorie counting I am always hungry with WW I found managing my hunger a lot easier but I can't get to the meetings and I can't stick to it without support. So here I am looking meeting everyone and supporting each other.

Hello!
My name is Mandi, I have 4 beautiful boys ages 2 months to 7 years. I have struggled with my weight ever since i got pregnant with my first in 2011. Im 5 ft 7 in and currently 198, 30 lbs down from my starting weight! My goal is to be 150 or below. Im looking forward to this group and the support that comes with it!6 -
Good evening. My name is Cortney. I am a 42 year single mother to three teen girls. Crazy town around here most of the time! I have never been skinny and felt good with my curves while wearing clothing sizes around 10-12. Got married and now ex- husband had much less desirable diet than I was used too. Surely stress of new marriage that quickly failed was not helping. Hadn’t weighed myself in years so hard to know but clearly gained based on mirror and clothing sizes. Divorce final in June 2018. Woke up one day in beginning August and felt (hard to explain actually- like a switch flipped) the focused mission to eat healthy. Joined MFP after quick google search in helpful calorie counting apps. Logging every meal. Learning a ton from the group. Losing weight with relative ease and persistence of my initial focus. Looking forward to being in a smaller (than the full MFP) community with supportive members with similar goals.
Starting weight: 228.5 pounds
Current weight: 196.7 pounds
Goal weight: about 150 pounds
Next goal: moving from obese to overweight BMI (less than 183 pounds)
Looking forward to participating in the group and the challenge.

Hi all, I am Mike. 59, bald, fat, male, married, diabetic, poor self control. I live with my Bride of nearly 37 years and her mom who has dementia, and sometimes my daughter who has her own story. I am here to help me as I continue to struggle with weight issues. I ended November on a very good week so I am going to build on that momentum through the holidays! I''ll give all the support I am able and pray you'll do the same. Together we can achieve great things!7
