Great picture, @DEAN!! I think that's how I'm going to dress just to walk outdoors to my car tomorrow morning and after work!!:+1:

I got to the gym this morning as expected, but only had time for 2.0 miles on the elliptical so hitting goal will have to wait until tomorrow.

No mail will be delivered to parts of seven states as polar vortex chills postal delivery.

This is a heading on Yahoo. One of those states is Eastern Montana. That would be me. I guess I won't plan any outside activity either! It was negative 25 here today so no outside activity was done either.

Might have to do some exercising at home. My 24-hour gym is closed now until 3 pm tomorrow because of the polar vortex, Madison WI.

@Dean: I look like that running on cold days, I cannot imagine biking in this weather.
@Dave: All I can say is get out the long johns...brrrrrrr! It will be -25 here so we will have a heat wave. But next Monday it is supposedly going to be 50 here.
@vhuber: If I worked that hard on that snow dog, I would want to preserve it forever too.
Jan.29: Adding 18.25 miles of walking 3 miles and 15.25 miles on the x bike.

@Clepant - LOL. That would be cold. I can barely make a round snowman. These people are really good.

@Vhuber - We are kind of the riviera spot in Montana. It got up to 28 degrees today and no wind so no windchill. :-) @Dave - Aren't you jealous? You should move to Montana.

@DEAN - At this point, I wouldn’t rule Montana out!! I would love to live in that area of the country!

I woke to -29F with -59F windchills today. Unfortunately, the car that sits outside overnight started so I had to go to work. :) I skipped the extra stop at the gym so I’m going to have to get my last 2 miles on the last day of the month tomorrow, no excuses.

I know many of you are trapped in this cold Polar Vortex weather right along with me. I hope y’all don’t mind all the weather memes, but I find them pretty amusing. And today I’m going to post a couple of my favorites.

    Stay warm, friends!

@Dave: Thanks for the humor. Your state made my newscast tonight as it showed some woman drove through a white out where temperatures were -54. They showed her dash cam.

@Dean: As I stopped at my vets to get meds for dog, who has another ITU infection, a lab tech came in on his bike. He road it to work today and lives over near my dad’s house about 5 miles away. Brrr!

Jan. 30: Adding 17 miles of walking 2 miles and cycling on x bike for 15 miles.

Had a stress filled day, testifying in court for my friend as to the abusive husband and the incidents I witnessed. He was fighting the R/O of which he lost. Now this man hates my guts and made a huge mistake in front of the judge of threatening me. The only thing I had to say was 'bring it on'

I'm not a fan of R/Os. Only honest people honor them, but honest people stayed away without one. Waiving that piece of paper at the perp doesn't stop them. :frowning: There's not a good solution. It's too bad the R/O doesn't come with a tracking ankle bracelet.

@Clepant - I confess I didn't ride to work today. I rode in my garage but the cold I've been fighting didn't like my sprint much and I spent the rest of the day coughing. It's supposed to get below zero this weekend so I won't ride. I worry about my electronics. I guess I could leave them at work or put a heating disc in my saddle bag.

@Dave - Those were funny! I really like the "This is why I live where the air hurts my face" memes.

@Lisah8969: You have to laugh at it when you live in this type of weather your entire life. I like where I live. I experience all for seasons although lately some have been longer, shorter or goofier than others. I like seeing all of them. I have a former colleague in SC and she is always rubbing in the warm weather where she now lives. She does not do it in a nice way and she is always bad mouthing the state I live in and the one she lived in all of her life until the last 10 years. I posted Dave’s weather Meme of why I live where the air hurts my face, and added to avoid hurricanes, tornadoes and roaches.

@anaconda369: Good for you supporting your friend. I like Dean do not put much faith in R/O’s. I know of two young girls who have lost their life and had RO’s. One was lured back to get her things thinking he was not going to be around and he killed her, and the the guy broke into her apartment and killed her. There should have to be a ankle bracelet and the victim should have a device that alearts them when the abuser is within a certain range.

@Dean: Hope you feel better soon and am glad you are not out on the bike in this.

For my long distance or short distance running folks on here. Thought you might enjoy this story shared on my runners club FB page today. Pretty amazing.
