I went and got my hair done last night. Just a cut today. I love my hairdresser Hannah. She's been doing my hair for years.. I ate okay yesterday.I've got counseling tonight. And I'm really looking forward to it. I've analyzed my overeats and I want to talk to her about them to see if we can figure this out. I'll check in with you guys later. Running a little late this morning. So I'm getting my exercise in right now. Talk to you soon6 -
This is me exploring the outdoors. I have taken my walk outside this morning. Another gloomy day here in Michigan. Out of the 30 days so far here in Michigan 24 of them we have had rain. So I thought I would show you the fungus growing in our front yard. It's actually lovely. And then there's my frogs. My frogs are really cute I love my frogs. And then there's this beautiful pine tree and the red at the top is where it's growing its pine cones for the season. A very interesting walk this morning. It's supposed to rain again today. And it's supposed to rain again tomorrow. Maybe we'll get a day this weekend that it doesn't rain. Either way I have got to mud in my vegetable plants.6 -
Pool opened yesterday. In the back ground you can see “Shimmer Lake”. It’s actually a pond but I nicknamed it. Looking forward to exploring more of this peaceful time poolside outdoors.3 -

Hang in there, Cyn. We will all get through this rough patch together!2 -
Thanks @eyesopennow. My Buddy!! This is going to get fixed. We will do it together!! Today is just one day. I can do it for just one day.2
-
@Cafelelia we sure have been a soggy mess!! and thanks. I am getting a little nervous especially after the trip to the county clerks office yesterday. and the basement is huge. you cant even see on the other side of the one wall is another 8 foot wide walkway that runs the length of the basement with shelves and storage. ohhh the possibilities. I think your office is really cute. I love the window.
@Shirin_K good job at meeting your daily goals. keep that up! your doing great!
@sleepymom5 woooo whoo look at you go! I am glad your mom is feeling some better. and thanks for checking in. we know you have been busy. you right. one of my triggers is my crappy job and the exhaustion that comes along with it. and I am so proud of you! look at the new you go. make sure you give yourself lots of credit for the hard work your doing. you are creating healthy new habits. good job.
@kirsten11872 the scale can be so fickle. you just keep working your plan. you got this!!
@eyesopennow love your scale!! it has been a life saving for me as well.
@GingerPwr ohhh yea! love your works in progress!!
@phoebe112476 ohhhh I am soooo glad you found your pup. I am so relieved for you and your family. I can't even imagine how worried you must have been. I am so glad she is back. phew!!
@lennoncpa we all have times when we stumble. don't let it mean your done. changing those old habits are hard. really hard. and remember back to the ball in the sand example? that explains exactly why you are having such a hard time right now. but the only way to make the ball go in the other direction is to push it that way. so for today, lets concentrate really hard and push that ball in the direction we want it to go. you can do this!!
@carlsoda that is a good book!!
@Julie8468 miss you checking in! I am glad you are doing ok. I also keep a couple of individual sized bags of assorted nuts in my car as well. sometimes you need a little good fat for fuel!!
@twyla77 I am glad that your tooth drama is over for now. and your challenge sounds amazing!!
@Mrsbell8well such a cool pool!! and I love the scenery. little private oasis!4 -

More yesterday so no running. Today looks good so I am planning on it. I have psoriasis & saw a new dermatologist yesterday. I had a bad flare up in March/April when my son was having his issues. I have had this condition for 20 years & normally can control/eliminate it with the right cream, diet & exercise. It was weird this time as nothing worked & it is all over the backs of my arms. It turns out it was infected (yuck) & that is why it was getting worse. The doctor gave me 2 creams/sprays & they are already healing the areas. She also spent a lot of time with me going over diet & self care. This was a nice surprise as doctors often give you the prescription & that’s it. Turns out she also has the condition. She showed me research & gave me a plan eliminating sugar & including daily meditation, exercise & vitamin D. It was an excellent overview & reminder that daily self care is essential for me no matter what is going on.
@cyndiesstuff & @Mrsbell8well - beautiful photos!
@eyesopennow & @cyndiesstuff - I feel like I am just emerging from a pretty rough patch. I do not have all the answers but hang in there & remember to love yourselves no matter how tough it gets.
@phoebe11276 - so happy that you found your dog!
@twyla77 - I really like your journal! The food of the day & self challenges are great ideas!2 -

@eyesopennow Wait...what is a souse vide?? And an instapot? Is that like a crock pot? I don't really know my way around the kitchen Lol! My eyes have been opened with the food scale too. I really overestimate my portions.
@sleepymom5 A sous vide is a magic device. IT allows you to cook things to very precise temperatures, as in down to the tenth of a degree. Why would you want this? (Most people don't by the way.) Let's say you want the perfect medium rare steak. Medium rare is 145 degrees. Cooking it on a grill, you either have to guess or poke holes in it with a thermometer (letting all those great juices run out) or, horrors, cut into it. But a sous vide is the perfect method for an OCD person.... you seal the steak in a seal-a-meal bag, put it in water, hang the sous vide wand in the water, and set it for 145 degrees. It brings the meat to exactly that temperature, no higher - it's a perfect medium rare from edge to edge. Good for meats, veggies, some fish, YOGURT, poached eggs, custards, stock.... anything that you need to pay close attention to the temperature when cooking. We use it about twice a month.
An instapot / instant pot is another miracle appliance, and one that has a broader attractiveness. It is a combination slow cooker, pressure cooker, rice cooker, steamer, browning pan, and warming pot. Ever come home from work and wanted something good for dinner but there's no time? You can cook shrimp in one minute. Couscous? 2 minutes. Rice in 4. Chicken parts - use the browning feature first, then 7 minutes in the pot. Like greens? 4 minutes fresh, 6 minutes from frozen. Ours has earned valuable counter space in the kitchen because we use it so often. And it does not heat up your kitchen!

Check in for: Wednesday
Logged food: Yes, under
Water: 50 oz
Steps and Exercise: 16,344 steps, 45 minutes walking, baseball
It was beautiful outside yesterday, so I went on a couple walks with my daughter during the day and practiced baseball with my 7 year old son after school. It was great exercise chasing balls and running bases so he could practice different fielding scenarios. I’m thankful for the extra energy and physical endurance I have compared to last summer! It’s a great motivator to keep losing weight and exercising.
My weigh-in today was a little disappointing. The past 6 days I’ve been on track with food and exercise, so I was expecting at least a small drop. I know I shouldn’t worry about it, but I probably will lol.
Today’s goals: Log food and under calories, 64oz of water and 10,000 steps.6 -
@GingerPwr you do beautiful work, that blanket is soooo pretty. Did you use yarn or crochet thread?1
-
Yesterday's picture assignment was a work in progress. I am embarrassed to share this one. While I am a neat person at home, keeping my office clean is a lower priority. I am in the middle of shredding, filing, and fumigating if necessary, lol.
Today's outdoor shot is of the George Washington Monument in Capitol Square in Richmond, VA. Built in the 1850's, it was meant not only to honor the first US President but to also be his tomb. The only problem with that last bit was that no one bothered to ask the Washington family up in Mount Vernon whether they wanted George dug up and moved to Richmond. The Richmond folk just assumed everyone would want the remains in this grand shrine. The family objected, and the tomb remains empty. "If you build it, he will come" only happens in the movies! Moral of story -- never begin something until you know everyone who is essential to your success is on the same page.

@cyndiesstuff omg your frogs are so cute! thanks for sharing, they made me smile this morning!

Well only a little loss but I'll take it. I have been busy the last few days with all my yard work. I went to a wake last night for my uncle and got caught up with some family. Some family you only see at funerals and weddings. We are hoping to maybe get together over the next few days before everyone heads home but who knows. I will be seeing one of my aunt's this summer anyway because I spend my vacation at her house in Canada. We did go out to eat last night and I did try to do well. Tomorrow is my son's birthday, not sure what we have planned for that. I do know his girlfriend wants to come surprise him before he gets home from work. So cute when your young, lol. Have a great day!5

My outdoor photo is at a conservation area outside of Kingston, On. This May long weekend we visited my in laws there. My MIL cares for my FIL who has advancing Parkinson’s. We took her out for a much needed hike at the conservation area. It has been a rainy & cold spring but we saw lots of birds, beavers, frogs & fish in the creek. If you bring bird seed, the chickadees sometimes eat out of your hands. We were not having much luck, but my younger son is the chickadee whisperer & he managed to get them to feed.

@twylla77 - love your journal page! You're giving me ideas (thanks!!)
@cyndiesstuff - sorry about the weather. It's been pretty sucky here too. Today however will be sunny and 80! I'm sending it your way!
@sleepymom5 - great job preparing for your meals on a trip. You are doing great considering everything!
@eyesopennow - wow that is one messy office. Please keep your door closed (hehe!)
Yesterday was a pretty good day - got in another hike before going back to work.
Food - not too bad at all
Water - not enough
Steps - 12,000+
Today I'm back at work getting caught up and trying to keep my eating on plan!
Later today I'll pre-log all my food for tomorrow. This is one habit I need to do consistently.
OK - off for a walk and back at it!

Hello all! It is getting closer to Friday!
I am staying on track & feeling good. I did not workout last night. I was hungry when I got home, so I ate and was contemplating on working out after dinner, but it got later & later and I just didn't do it. I am going to the gym after work, no excuses! I am hoping my elliptical workout tonight & tomorrow night will help bring my weight back down. I need to drop 2 pounds by Saturday, I think I can do it. I am not going to stress, I feel good, the weight will come off.
I am loving all the pictures! Sorry I have not been active in the challenge, I get home from work and do not log on and forget until I see all your posts.
Have a great day!2 -
Ok since I'm not great at introductions, I'll let y'all ask some questions and I'll answer them in a post. I'm shy and rambling by nature.4
-
Ok @baby_carrit tell us a little about yourself. What are your goals for june? What work will you do to try and meet your goals? and What is your weigh in day and what is your starting weight?2

Happy Thursday everyone. I’m having a great day today and I’m making great food choices. The problem has been the choices I was making. I was eating the types of food that I don’t normally eat. Like fried food. I never eat that kind of stuff. So today I got up early and went to the gym and went grocery shopping to get my favorite healthy foods! Tonight I have my clogging class so that will get me out of the house and away from food. I’ve only got healthy food in the house in case I want a snack after dancing. Thanks for the tips!6

I loved seeing everyones' houses from the bank holiday weekend. They look like movie sets. I doubt that you will ever see a dreary British semi in a film. Actually there is Privet Drive in Harry Potter - so I proved myself wrong.
@Mrsbell8well and @sleepymom5 your compassionate words have made me feel quite teary (in a good way). I have had a couple of days of losing it completely food wise and sacking off training. I have been saying unkind things to myself and making things seem to be what they are not. I think I am building things up in my head. You know, how some people say I am a thin person trapped in a fat body. I am the other way round. I look at my self sabotage and think my fat brain is trying to take back control (populist phrase in the UK). OMG I just realised my chimp brain is trying to stage a healthy BMI exit bmexit. (UK based joke - not that funny). Is it when people start telling me how fit I am and how slim I look I feel like a fraud and have to prove them wrong? Maybe. Could it be that when I compare myself to others I can see that I will never be as fast or strong as them no matter how hard I try? Maybe. Are these just the excuses I am telling myself to justify why I do these things. Choices choices. You can't always choose what happens to you but you can choose how you react to it. All this stuff is irrelevant it is the choices I make. With my study. I am so sick of having this course hanging over my head I really want to get it done. I haven't had time to listen to a podcast. i think I might benefit from listening to one tomorrow if I can manage it. OK so i am going to draw a line and start a fresh. I need a little more discipline so I am going to calorie count tomorrow. It may be a bit inaccurate but that is ok. I just need to get my proportions back under control. There was a buffet at work. I have put some food aside for my lunch ( a strategy that has worked for me before) but I still gorged anyway. Ok stop - tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start and a new opportunity to make the right choices.
Food plan for tomorrow:-
breakfast eggs toast bacon medallions wholemeal toast
mid morning snack banana
lunch salad spicy chicken goujons samosa spring roll sausage roll
mid afternoon snack apple (keep some lunch back for snack)
dinner chicken in black bean oyster sauce noodles
work out tough mudder 5k!
water lots
Thank you so much to my friends in weight loss you wonderful kind patient encouraging ladies.7 -
Change of plans. Due to severe weather, I decided to workout from home. I definitely get a good sweat! I meant to post this under my picture.😊👍🏻💪🏻5 -
Have a great night!😊

My outdoor adventure (yesterday!) Lake Maria State Park5 -
Check in for: Thursday
Logged food: Yes, on target
Water: 80 oz
Steps and Exercise: 30 min treadmill and 6,034 steps
My poor friend. Things aren't good. I am glad she can talk at least. He husband is overwhelmed. We are trying the best we can but there is so much that needs to be done. There are also some family dynamics stuff going on between him and her family which isn't helping.
Me on the other hand is doing well. So much better than I would have done last year. Tomorrow getting on here will be a challenge so I wanted to be sure to get on tonight.
@GingerPwr Love the blanket! You are so talented!
@twyla77 What an awesome challenge! I love your journal! I wish I could make mine as appealing as that one.
@cyndiesstuff I am glad that things are going a little better. I hope your counseling session went well and you got some insight into the past few days. You are going to figure this out! Love the pics and your frogs! So cute!
@mrsbell8well I love your yard and pool! It is so inviting and relaxing! You have an awesome summer ahead!
@Cafelelia You are right, self care is so important. We neglect ourselves too much! I hope with the new treatments, you'll be feeling better in no time. Love the pic of your son feeding the birds! Sounds like a cool place!
@Shirin_K You have been doing great! Don't let the scale mess with you! Keep doing what you are doing and you will have a drop!
@eyesopennow Thanks for the response! I want to get both of those now! Lol! Maybe I should start slow with the instapot! I love both of your pics! I really like the picture you have hanging in your office. So serene! I know that your job can be very stressful so I am sure that is nice to look out. I also love the story about the monument! Thanks for sharing!
@ljdanny . Nice loss! Sorry to hear about your Uncle but would be nice to get something planned with your out of town family members. Hope it works out. And Happy Birthday to your son!
@carlsoda I need to get in the habit of pre logging too. It is so helpful when I do it! I love the picture from the hike too!
@kirsten11872 Wow! You can tell you did a killer workout. I am still impressed with your workouts, especially the elliptical! I have been struggling with the 15 mins!
@lennoncpa I love how you turned it around and bought good food to eat when you are hungry! A little planning makes things so much easier! Enjoy your clogging class!
@amsandos Have you ever listened to the Brooke Castillo podcasts? She actually is a mentor for Corrine. She has a lot of good material on managing your mind. You may want to listen to her too. You need to start giving yourself credit for all that you do. You are challenging yourself for this tough Mudder and the triathalon. It isn't easy but you have been setting personal records. You also have been doing a lot of mental work with the eating. It isn't easy and takes work but you are still keeping at it. Hugs! You can do it! Love your little British humor always shining through your posts! Lol!4
