Week 2
PW: 258.5
CW: 254.5
One of my goals this week is to try and be more active in the group. I think I only had a couple posts here this week. It's been really busy around here with school starting in 2 weeks. My daughter goes back to school and I'm also a full time student, so my fall semester starts in 2 weeks as well. We also had a bad storm here back in May where we lost our roof, gutters, downspouts and the window screens on the back of our house (which is not even 2 years old). One of our cars was also totaled. So, there are insurance adjusters and contractors all over the place. I'll be so glad when everything is fixed!
Even though I haven't been around, I've still been giving it my best. Although, I wasn't expecting such a big loss this week since I was still feeling a little under the weather. But, I'll definitely take it! lol
I hope everyone is doing well and feeling strong as we go into another week!5 -

Oh wow! i am beyond excited this morning after stepping on the scale! My biggest loss in months! i’m pumped, and motivated to try even harder this week!
thanks for all the support and encouragement to not give up! ❤️7 -
We’re having such a fun weekend! We have Skylynn with us. We started yesterday with a hike up on Skyline drive. We took the old folks. They set up chairs in the shade and waited for us. Then out to lunch and grocery shopping. Came home and made vegan speghetii and meatballs and vegan Parmesan. Last night I enjoyed a lovely glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. We watched the Amazing Race and ate popcorn. This morning Molly and I got up early and did a 5 mile bike ride. 1/2 way through we encountered a roadblock. A big black cow was blocking are path. Poor cow had managed to get out of the fenced pasture. We managed to calm it enough to walk our bikes around it. Ahhhh life in the country. We love it. Came home , ate breakfast, worked on jigsaw puzzle with Skylynn...almost done, took OF’s to church, shopped at local coop for fresh tomatoes...making tomato sandwiches, and now we’re at a Mexican Festival representing my work. Almost done. Then home to swim and have more fun. Making plum tart and Swiss chard lasagna with bechamel sauce and carmelized onions for dinner.
I realize this morning that I am hungry for everything. My homemade cookies, glasses of wine, early bike rides, lasagna, laughter, plum tarts. I want it all. This is the big difference between “dieting” and maintenance. I get it all. I spent a year doing what I had to do. I did eat to live. Now I get to live to eat as well! I love wonderful nutritious seasonal food.
Life is so good! And now that I still work out my body is changing. My weight stays the same but clothes fitting better. Everyday of the last year was worth it to bring me to this point in my life.
So it turns out we can have it all. I’m finding my balance and loving it!6 -

@cyndiesstuff, thanks so much for explaining. I think I got the idea
I still have fever and I'm very exhausted, so I'm planning to visit the doc again tomorrow. I decided to change my diet a little while I'm sick. I continue to eat mostly fruits, veggies, soups and lighter meats, but I'll adjusted my calorie intake from negative to neutral. I'm close to my goal so it won't hurt me if I stay here for a while. And I'm not sure if it's OK for my imune sistem if I'm not getting enough calories... The funny thing is it turns out that it's very hard to reach that maintenance calorie limit by just eating such healthy foods Maybe I could add some nuts...
Check in for Saturday
Food: logged and under
Water: enough
Exercise: 30 min light impact aerobics + 20 min walk
Steps: 8728
Check in for Sunday
Food: logged and intentionally a little over
Water: enough
Exercise: 10 min stretching + 20 min pacing at home
Steps: 2000

Really struggling with increasing snacks at bedtime /evening snack time. Decided to try to plan my snacks at dinner each day. Then only eat the plan. Will try this and see. Today I ate only what I logged and I am in my calories goal - now to get to sleep without more snacking. First time I have really struggled since less strict in the calorie counting - but I have already made a plan and it has only been a few days. Certain I will be back on track soon. The learning along the way will be worth it long term. #notinadiet #lifelongchange3

Week 2
PW: 139
CW: 137
Considering I did not have a perfect week. I am happy with my loss. I think it goes to show that you don't need to be 100% all the time. The main thing for me is that I over eat. I get fat when I over eat. If I eat what I need that I can maintain a healthier weight. I know it is not rocket science but this a bit of a revelation for me. On saturday I stayed up late and watched a whole season on Glow making me tired and ratty yesterday. Today I am feeling a lot better but sleep is a major part of the puzzle I am neglecting.
the computer wiped my previous message where I described my BBQ. I haven't got time to write it up again. Just to say somethings went well food wise other didn't.
This weeks pledges are to stay out of the kitchen at work and to make sure that I sleep. Possibly to buy a new computer.
@cyndiesstuff I guess the model is a reviewing tool not a planning tool. I was using it to unpick my attitudes towards eating at family occasions. I will look at it again.5 -
Yesterday was a good day.
I managed to walk 10,000 steps, drank my water and stayed within my calories.
My cold is also over, so I'm counting on this being a good week.
@cyndiesstuff: I actually have a samsung watch, which I'm very happy with, but I'm not sure that the heart rate monitor is all that accurate.
I also love your mental thinking. I'm definitely going to give that a try. Thanks for sharing!3 -
Check in for Sunday

Water: not enough
Exercise: none rest day

still not feeling well but right now i can't take time off. so i will go to work and smile. smile because i want to. and thats that. so how is everyone doing with the positive self talk? today's positive self talk for me:
Look how cute you are!! Strong beautiful and confident. Walk in like you own the place girl!!
@DananaNanas that's ok dana, sit down today and make a plan. what is your next best step?
@lennoncpa ok... that pup is the cutest little thing i have ever seen. look at those tiny legs!
Did anyone go and read the mod's challenge? eat off a red plate? what do you think?
@amytriesww ohhhh yeah girl that is a 4 pound loss this week! good job. what are you going to school for? and we would really enjoy you checking in more. it is hard to be accountable to people if you have no vested interest. so come back daily. give us 5 minutes and tell us what your doing.
@twyla77 wooooo whooooo girl. look at you go. nice week! now get busy. you can do this.
@Mrsbell8well balance and moderation. thats the key! ahhh there are a lot of keys, i am going to get a key ring to carry them all with me. at least until i become confident enough to chose the key i will need for the situation. sounds like your weekend was lovely. and skylynn is such a doll! look at the little angel. her gramma's tuckered her all out!!
@hope002 i have found that when i celebrate with dancing i lose weight. good job being the DD! you saved lives and calories.
@Moarrein ahhh and you are a good momma! and cute as a button too! and your food plan make sense. i would agree, your body needs extra healthy nutrition when you are ill.
@CassieGetsFit2013 i will get you excused cassie. you have fun on the beach in spite of you period. does it seem like your supplements are helping?
@phoebe112476 good job recognizing the increase in snacking. and the skills you have learned to lose weight are the same ones you need now to get that snacking back under control. maybe start checking in after dinner and letting us all know what your plan is. you got this tho.
@amsandos the model can be used as a planning tool. you just work it backwards. so start with the action you want to see, then what feelings do you need to produce that action, then what thoughts do you need to make those feelings. it can be used both ways, as a planning tool and as an analysis tool. keep working it. and that loss this week. woooooooo whooooo. cyndie is doing the happy dance! so super proud of you.
@ihp2015 you go girl. that is one day in your string. you keep working at it. and more that half of this weight loss project is mental. we need to let go of our faulty thinking and adopt new and healthy thinking right along with food. it is going to be a good day.

What is your positive self talk for today? Please share....

@lennoncpa - oh my gosh - what a cutie and so tiny!!
@cyndiesstuff - does eating off an orange plate count? I have a lovely orange fiesta plate that I use every night. No one else is allowed to use it!!
Weekend update:
Not too too bad. I noticed I was a little sore in my hips and such and I think it was left overs from bad eating earlier in the week. Likely sugar induced pain. But today I woke up feeling a little better. A little yoga always helps too.
Saturday I did C25K and yesterday took it easy. Today is another C25K, great food planned and stay hydrated.
For all who are not feeling well....hope you get better soon! We are not supposed to get sick in the summer. It's some sort of rule right?
Have a great Monday.5 -

Not a good week. We were traveling again and I can't seem to control the eating when we go out to eat. So many good things to try but they are also overly salty and a lot of sugar and carbohydrates. Back to the grind again and we will be home for the next several weeks.5 -
