Saturday was weird. I only got 3 1/2 hrs sleep Fri night. But since I was up I took that time to go and walk a few miles. Also got to go swimming in the afternoon at families house, so plenty of exercise. But I still botched calories by having beers and pizza.
I think a good takeaway is that I usually just give up on Fri & Sat, don’t track or try to get exercise in. Usually just take those as “off days” and that’s why my weigh-ins aren't as good as i’d like. Paying more attention probably helped some things be better (I hope)
@erikNJ I think it is important you realise where your weakness is, but I think you may be able to make your weekends less impactful towards your weigh ins. I don't know what your daily calorie goal is, but maybe you have enough room in your weekly calories to shave 100calories or so off, to give you an 700(or more) "credit" to use on the weekends. Maybe then you will have a little more success being under more during the week2 -

We had ribs and 🌽 corn for dinner. Then a friend who I haven't seen since we went to Iceland in February came over and we had a couple glasses of wine. I really miss being with people. Hope everyone has a great day! 🤗
Yum
We were going to have ribs but had burgers instead. Hopefully we will have time to cook them tonight. I'm glad you had an enjoyable dinner with friends.1 -

I ended up staying late at work, came home and made pizza for dinner(pepperoni, and a bunch of veggies), had a small glass of wine, and fell asleep while reading my book before bed.

Yesterday morning my boyfriend and I went grocery shopping. He is on vacation for the next few days, so we picked up extra food because he will be eating at home. We found a nice pork shoulder on sale, and decided to make pulled pork for lunch. He called his parents and asked if they would be interested in a socially distanced lunch, and I invited my mother as well. All of them had been house-bound since March, and haven't even gone grocery shopping. They all said yes, and were glad to be out of the house. I made pulled pork sandwiches, homemade mac and cheese, a HUGE fruit salad, and a lovely salad with Gorgonzola cheese and more fresh veggies. Everything turned out to be a hit, and they all ended up visiting for almost 5 hours! It was REALLY nice to see them. I have seen my mom every two weeks, but really only to drop off food or mow the lawn for her. My boyfriends mom brought over candied nuts, one type was made with all the candy items and the other was made with an artificial sweetener(something called swerve?) and was keto friendly and both were equally delicious! A majority of my steps(which weren't fabulous for me, but pretty good for a weekend) came from running around the house like a madwoman de-cluttering, sweeping, mopping, cooking and chasing the puppies around the house. All in all, it was a really wonderful day, and I am SO, SO happy that I was able to make them food and spend time with all of them!
@cmhubbard92 So glad you got to see your family. We have only seen our daughter a couple of times, our son not since January, and my in-laws not since last June. We were supposed to go to NY for 2 weddings this year but both are cancelled. I really miss being with family, even if it is at 6ft apart. 😞0 -

@erikNJ You were mindful of what you were eating/drinking, which probably helped you. It's ok to have pizza and beer sometimes, as long as it's not the whole pie/case. 😉🍺🍕2 -

@DaffyGirl88 it really was quite nice, and we all needed some face to face time. I am hoping we can all return to a new normal soon! This is so difficult but thank god we have all these ways to connect with everyone!1 -
Wow! You guys were a chatty bunch....I had many posts to read to get caught up!
Yesterday evening, when I was telling my son about the night before and how it had resulted in me eating everything in sight, he said that every couple of weeks one should take a cheat day and do it up right. So, with his blessing, my "supper" was a Peanut Buster Parfait from Dairy Queen!! I did end up going for a 34 minute walk @DaffyGirl88, while my husband was barbecuing burgers, which I was not having.

I know it’s different for everyone, but I agree with your son. Every time I have tried to be too strict with my diet for too long I always went on a bad binge cause I just got sick of it. I find it better to have treats as an occasional reward for the hard work1 -

@HASWLRS Glad you got out for your walk. We were kind of chatty weren't we? LOL It's good to have someone besides the dog to talk to. LOL I hope you enjoyed your DQ, you can't deny yourself the things you love forever. Every no and again you need to indulge in your favorite things.2 -

Same story...did not look at calories first for dinner. I was assuming I would be o.k. with just 1 cup of pasta instead of my usual more, but the calorie count was very high. I need to be more disciplined with looking at the calories in advance. Also, pasta is really a challenge to the diet--it's so packed with calories. Probably better for me to avoid it for now since I can't be disciplined to eat less than 1 cup.1 -

@richmondwriter, yeah, pasta is definitely one of those "eye opener" foods when you start logging and weighing everything!! You could either avoid it altogether like you said, or just do extra exercise on days you want to have pasta!2 -
