@graceojo999
Welcome back! I was worried you had fallen off the edge somewhere, and it is wonderful to see you again. You did the right thing - after a big panic and eating too much, causing yourself pain and distress, you pulled back and got yourself on track. For you it is keto, for someone else it will be another path, but you know what works for you!
I have a question, though. Do you want to keep your weigh-in day as Sunday as it was before, or switch to Wednesday which is when you just weighed in, or another day altogether? And as soon as you can post an accurate weight, that would be great.
Well done on renting office space. It is SO hard to work at home where we are used to relaxing and eating (among other things!). It has been one of the hardest things about retirement for me - actually doing ALL the things at home.
@Terytha
Yes indeed it is tomatoes! You have too many in one pot. One plant per pot! Same for rosemary - don't put too much in one pot, and they need lots of heat and light. Basil is easy as long as there is a ton of light, and they are the most delicious for everything. Oregano will grow in the most ridiculously bad conditions outside and come back year after year, even where it gets stupid cold. But inside it will probably do well too - feel free to crowd those into pots together! You will have a blast with this. I am about to plant my indoor salad garden to get me through the winter. I hate buying salad stuff in the stores. It is never very wonderful compared to what we can grow at home.
@PlaneMonkey
water water everywhere. and pickles or other sour stuff. you got this!3 -
@jguldi11 @jugar let's hear it for the Ice Cream Team. I have tried some Halo Top flavors and if I am far enough removed from a Ben & Jerry's meltdown (oh I made a pun ), they are pretty good.
@YinxFed definitely kudos on your joining a running club! That takes guts. I'd love to know more about the structure/how it works once you get a taste.
@Terytha I have had the hardest time growing herbs in my apartment this spring/summer. I had grown basil and rosemary quite successfully in the past, and this time I did those, plus mint, sage, and cilantro. The basil was a disaster, and almost everything else got various disease! And it brought those tiny flies into my apartment. So, if you strike gold, please share your care instructions because I am at a loss. I think I am going to "harvest" what is edible tomorrow and put all the leaves in baggies with water to freeze them.
Work has been super hectic so far this week, but I am still working in my steps and workouts, and I prepped one of my favorite chicken recipes on Sunday & Monday, so that's always something to look forward to. Lemon Dijon Rosemary chicken thighs, for those interested: https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/sheet-pan-lemon-rosemary-dijon-chicken/#bo-recipe
I omit the potatoes and goddess sauce, the chicken marinade is good enough on its own! I pair it with garlic roasted asparagus and low cal toast.
We're over the hump of the week!1 -
@Terytha I love the idea of an indoor herb garden! In my experience dill is super easy to grow from seed and there's a reason it's called dill weed lol at least when grown outside it tends to spread everywhere! I'm planning to bring my rosemary in this winter as it won't survive outside in our Michigan winters. I'm told they really like humidity so my plan is to keep it in the bathroom. Hopefully we're both successful with our herbs 🌱
I conducted 10 back-to-back therapy sessions today and by the time I finished I was so so emotionally drained. The temptation was to come home and veg on the couch but I went to the gym with a friend and I'm so glad I did. Feeling so much more relaxed and just good all around.6 -
Today I made a giant pot of borscht with some of my beet harvest. I made rye bread yesterday so together that made for a pretty good supper. And my eating the rest of the day was on track too. I had a tough workout at the gym this morning. Three variations of squats and two variations of hip thrusts along with a killer glute exercise. Pretty sure I'll be moving slowly tomorrow.
@Gidgetgoescrazy Happy healing to your husband. It sounds like you're off to a good start.
@YinxFed Walking & running. Way to go!2 -
I am looking for a little motivation today so I went to look at this MFP discussion for non scale victories:
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1275030/whats-your-most-recent-nsv/p1514
Its great to see positive notes from other people on the same journey. It makes me think of my efforts as not just about the weight or this week but about the long term effects of my efforts/goals.
A NSV from today was thinking about all the healthy recipes I have made/tried over the past few months and how that's improving my health and my family.
A significant NSV for me during this summer was fitting back into my wedding dress from 15 years ago. I walked around in it for about 30 minutes7 -
@YinxFed Nice work getting to book club! What are you reading? I could use some suggestions if you feel like sharing!
@Gidgitgoescrazy So glad your hubby seems to be making a good recovery
@conleywoods @micki48 @jugar aaarrh thanks for the support. You guys are awesome. It really does make a difference. My partner seems to be on the mend now. Kristi I hope things are going better for you too xx
@Terytha Nice tomatoes! I hope they continue to grow and bear delicious fruit! We have some in our art studio and they are just about ripening, I'm getting so tempted to pick them off and eat them

I've been a bit absent recently, both on here and with my calorie counting and exercise. I've been logging but tbh my efforts to stay within calories have all been a bit half hearted compared to a week or two ago, so I'm not expecting any losses until I get myself back in gear! Going to do my best today. I am also starting a new course tonight, I am training part time to be a counsellor for young people and this is Level 3 of my training, so it's exciting!4

Greetings Team!
I'm having a slow day today, but thats OK. Thanks for all your encouragement of my plans to join the running club next week - I'm looking forward to it!
I'm working today, filming a quick video on English pronunciation and finishing another one that is still in production. Fun times!
@spyro88 your new course sounds amazing - will it be online or a blended course? The book that my book club has chosen for this month is The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri. I got it on Kindle last night. I'll let you know what I think later.
Happy Thursday, Friends 🙂3 -
Good morning everyone !
So yesterday about an hour before work was done, I got an occular migraine.. I used to have them pretty often, but haven't had one in a couple of years, well yesterdays was a doozy, thankfully my vision was back to normal before I had to drive home. So needless to say I did not exercise yesterday, but I ate within my calories, so it's all good...
I did exercise this morning, so I am on the right path... Still have a bit of a headache, so I gotta get that fixed... My plan is to get my strength training done today, I've only done it one time, it seems like October is not going my way either, but try, try again right !
It was supposed to rain all weekend, but now it looks like Saturday morning should be nice, so I am going to get one of my 3 hikes in, I will probably stay close to home as I don't think Hubby will be up for 5 miles just yet, so I will take the big pupper with me, there is a park close by, but it just doesn't feel like a "hike" it's more of a walk, cause it's very flat, but there is a beach at the end, and the pupper will LOVE that, he is a water dog through and through... So I am going to count it as a hike with regards to my goal of 3 hikes this month...
Have a great day !

Here you are today -
I was like that last week after a killer TRX session. I find the sore muscle phase lasts longer as we age! Arrgh!

The sunrise was particularly beautiful this morning as I got to work.
We're having a farewell party for someone who is leaving the company after 7 years. I'm going to indulge in a little cake. Today is an indulging kind of day.
I'll just hit the gym tomorrow to make up for it.8 -

I ve seen this post on instagram and I felt so related to some parts of it, specially the part of being ashamed to go to the gym/out. it gave me the motivation to register for a few gym sessions for the next week and thought it may also be good to for somes here.3 -
@mbakhtiaruz
It took me 12 weeks at the beginning of my final weight loss effort to make it to the gym. I had to do a program online in the privacy of my own home first, and then I felt like getting down to it in the "real world". I had tried gyms before, but never lasted. I always felt like I was faking it somehow, and never really got committed. Once I had that first few weeks of really sticking to something, it was easier to stick to the gym. Whatever it takes! I am so glad to have finally changed my self definition to "someone who works out" instead of "someone who wishes she could lose weight and get fit". Do it and commit. After a few weeks, it will feel better - guaranteed! And even if you don't believe it, the other people there are thinking "Wow. She is really making an effort and it's amazing.". Really. They are! You don't need to already look like the "after" photo to feel good in the gym.
I had a wonderful last-minute hike with a friend today. She texted me on the spur of the moment, and I could do it! We hiked about 2.5 - 3 hours in a beautiful hilly place. Woods, to a big lake, and back again. I am so glad I just shut the door on my to-do list and went. Step numbers are great and I feel so good after both the hike and the visit with a friend I had not seen in quite a long time.
@terytha
Enjoy the party! And the time of year when getting to work = sunrise. Yep, the days are getting downright short.6 -
Is it really the ending of Thursday already? Maybe not for you folks out in the west, but it will come to you soon as well! Time just flies.
SO let's get ready for the really big weigh-in day!
late:
@coll7246 I hope you are still with us! It's OK if your weigh-in is late, and even if it is not what you hoped for. We just hope to hear from you and get you rolling!
Due Friday:

@joijumper
Let's hear from you all! Not just weigh-ins, but news and thoughts on how things are going. Everyone loves that part.1 -
@jugar You made me laugh out loud with that photo & caption! Fortunately I was not quite that bad!
We had a beautiful autumn day here and managed to get in a last round of golf for the year. Our course closes Monday so that will be it until 2021. Also did a session on the stationary bike. And food was good today as well in spite of having a meal out this evening with friends. I had gone on to the restaurant's website and checked out their menu earlier in the day so I could plan accordingly. I find that makes it easier for me to stick to my plan.

Good morning team, @Terytha wow, what an amazing sky!
@YinxFed Ooh, please let me know what you think of Beekeeper - I downloaded the audio book months ago when it was on offer on Audible, but haven't got around to listening to it yet. I have heard amazing things though! I love my Kindle too
My course is amazingly happening in-person, as it stands right now. It's one evening a week and there are only 8 of us so it felt very safe with procedures in place and hand sanitiser, etc. It's just so important in studying counselling to have that real interaction so I hope we can carry on - we'll just have to see how it goes. The first night was amazing so I'm really looking forward to the course!5 -
My big update for today is that I managed to get myself to the gym yesterday, so am beginning to feel back in control and back on it!8

I made it through my work week phew! I am ready for the weekend. I have to do some work tomorrow but we get to do it from home. I had to have a mask fitting test today at work. It was kinda weird. We try on different masks inside this big hood (like a bee keepers hat). Then they spray sweet tasting stuff inside the hood. If you can taste it your mask doesn't fit properly. I have a mask that passes, so that's good. No exercise today but tomorrow for sure. Food was good today except I go a little snack crazy when I get home from work. Not enough to blow my budget but I eat my snacks really fast and that's not good. I stopped eating and switched to coffee and that always does the trick.
@mbakhtiaruz I haven't been to a traditional gym since before my husband and I got married maybe 14 years ago. I love working out at home and since I have kids and live a good distance from a gym, it isn't practical. Doesn't matter where you work out. The best place to workout, is the place you will actually workout in. Hope you find your best fit. It has taken me a while to figure out what types of workouts keep me coming back for more. Enjoy this time of self discovery.
@jugar The hike sounds so nice. Glad you got to go!
@yinxfed Look at you getting out there and trying new things! Love it!6 -

I want to wait and see this weight result again tomorrow morning. But I should just share it honestly. Today. It’s frustrating to see that my slippage isn’t paying off. I want to eat tacos, not workout and lose weight... obviously I know that doesn’t make sense. Ugg. I’m disappointed with my lack of effort. Okay I need to reset with some basics and get moving in the right direction.7 -
@Steph1498 You still lost 1lb.. that's not to be sniffed at! I'm with you with the eating tacos and still wanting to lose weight though haha.3
