Toronto is on a modified lock down, and COVID numbers are just not decreasing. So government and public health advice for Halloween was really confusing this year. I decided to go with what my 10 year old wanted to do! So we gave out candy via a poster tube, and our 10 year old went out trick or treating to just a few neighbours. We then ordered take out and watched a movie together. Normally we have over 100 kids, and just 10 came by last night. But we made the best of it, and best of all, my younger son was very happy. Here are my kids (older son is not into costumes any more) and also my candy distribution set up on the front porch.

Hello everyone! Welcome to November!😊
My name is Kirsten, I’m 48 years old, bern married for 21 years, I have 2 sons, 16 & 20. I work full-time in the financial industry. I have been working from home since mid-March, since Covid, I am back to the office 2 days/week, which I’m very happy about.
I have been watching my weight since my early teen years, I have always been on the thicker side. I got extremely heavy when I was around 18 years old. I have been following WW on & off since I’m 14. I finally decided I was going to become Lifetime & hit WW Lifetime in my late 30’s, early 40’s, I don’t remember exactly. My weight has fluctuated for many years. I joined MFP in May 2012 & have been part of this group since it started, I think in July 2015. I gained quite a bit of weight about a year ago & into quarantine. As my clothes were getting tighter & I was feeling out of shape, I decided to get back on track. I got back to following WW, tracking on MFP, following 18:6 IF & I also starting using Isagenix products. I have dropped 30 pounds since April.
The last few weeks, I have slacked a little with my eating & gained a few pounds back. I decided I’m not going to go back to the yo-yo dieting & I’m getting back on track. I’m a few pounds from goal, I’m going to get back there by the end of the month! I’m determined!!!
I’m really going to try to stay active with everyone’s posts. Hope we can all end this awful year happier & healthier! 😊👍3 -
Hi everyone, my name is Akela (akayla). Im from Santa Barbara California and married to my husband for 3.5 years, been together for 9/10 years and have 3 kids. Twin boys 8 years old and a 4 year old girl. Im new here and have never done a challenge like this before, so I may ask alot of questions 😆.
My whole life I've always big on the bigger side and I have always thought I was FAT. All of high school I was really fit and weighed about 160 at 5'9" I played water polo and swam all 4 years. After high school I went away to college and gained alot of weight. Then came home and went down to 170 I was a big partier and feel that the things I did contributed to me losing weight. Not in a good way. At age 20/21 I met my husband and weighed 190ish. We dated for 6 months and found out I was pregnant with twin boys. I gained a whopping 70lbs being pregnant. Had them at 22 weighed 260. I lost a little right after I had them but then gained it right back. I was 260 when I got pregnant with my daughter 4 years later. Gained about 15lbs with her and never lost it. I now weigh more than I did with twins which makes me feel so bad. I have been over 300lbs for 3+ years. I also have bad luck because when I try to workout and be good I always end up getting hurt last year I tore my ligaments and tendons in my L ankle and this summer I hyperextended my L knee. Im over being huge, having no energy for myself or my kids and always getting hurt.
I started mfp in October of this year. I had always counted calories, but this time I am counting my macros which I like so much better! When I started mfp I was at 310. Within 1 week of counting my macros I lost 5 lbs!!!! I was so surprised and so happy! I work at my local hospital in Santa Barbara as a nursing assistant so my job is very physical and tiring as well as having 3 very active children. My end goal is to be 180 which is over 100lbs to lose.
My goals for this month:
• track all my meals everyday
• lose some more lbs and inches
• eat clean
• prep all my meals for the week, not just when I work
• start doing some sort of weight workouts
• in September I would go on hikes at least 3 days a week, I really want to start hiking again
• maybe add some yoga6 -

The Green Challenge Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!!

Happy November, Everyone!
Hi! I'm Ashley! I'm your second favorite co-captain of this team, after @1theresamcvean. I am here to provide comedic relief, answer science questions, stare at your pet pictures, and attempt to improve my health.
Summary of Me: I am 25, living in Ohio, USA. I am a chemical engineer (very much about the science when it comes to my health) working for an industrial combustion firm setting things on fire for money, diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in December 2019, and trying to stay both positive and realistic when it comes to getting healthier.
For anyone who wants to know more about me, feel free to check out... my blog. Or just ask questions. I answer those too.
Weigh Day: Thursday
MFP Starting Weight: 234 lbs (September 2014)
November Starting Weight: 166.2 lbs (October 29th)
Loss to Date: 67.8 lbs
My lowest weight in recent years was 156 lbs, measured in June 2019. However, at the end of June, I went to France for work for three months, which was the beginning of over a year of struggling to stay on the wagon. I am hoping to be back there by summer 2021 - here's hoping.
Goals for November- Enjoy my vacation without stressing over the calories too much (she writes as she's halfway through a bottle of 2012 French Cabernet)
- Add non-cardio workouts into my routine
- Keep my MS under control
- Eat no more than half of the cookies made in my kitchen
- Reduce sources of stress on a local scale

Welcome new members. I'm Tracy, from New Hampshire. 48, married forever, 2 boys 26 and 23. I also have 2 granddaughters a one year old and an 8 month old. I am an assistant director in childcare. I never had a problem with my weight until I had my children. I gained 80 pounds with the first one and he was born a month early so just imagine if I went full term. I lost almost all of it before I got pregnant again and then again gained another 80 pounds with the second. I lost some of it. But as I get older I gain weight. A few years ago i did manage to lose 40 pounds but gained 20 back. Now i just gain and lose the same 5 pounds. I wonder if its in the genes. My mom was a very thin woman until she had kids and with each one of us she had trouble losing the weight and then gained more as she got older and became quite large. I do not want to be that big as much as I love my mom and love having some of her traits that's not one thing I want to inherit.
I have been out of work for the last month because of my neck surgery and they are just letting me start to walk last week. The weather has been cold and rainy, I think tomorrow i may pull out my leslie sansone DVD if the weather is bad. Later in the week it's going to be in the 60's so I will get outside. I need to start getting some steps in, I don't want to see the scale going back up. It has moved down a little seeing I have been having a hard time eating. I am hoping to get back to zumba soon also.5 -
Hi all, I’m April from Canada. I have three boys (20 - 15). Currently working from home but expecting to get back to in-office work in next while. I have struggled with my weight since the birth of my third son; I got up to 220 as my highest weight and got my butt in gear once covid hit.
Happy to be on track now and aiming to hit 125 - 130 as my goal weight.
November goals
*continue to lose 1 pound a week.
*get back to IF. Working from home has been a challenge - food is all around !
*every other day strength training .
*improve water intake - I downloaded a plant nanny app to track.
*start an at home step class (still waiting for my eye to arrive).
I’ve been working on fitness quite alot since sept. I’m jogging, taking exercise classes and hand weights at home.7 -

Weigh in week 1
Weigh day Sunday
PW: 248.0 (112.5 kg)
CW 247.5 (112.3 kg)
LTD: 28.4 (12.9 kg)
Not bad, not brilliant. But less than I weighed at the start of last month, so I call that winning. 😃 Same goal for November!6 -
Hi everyone, and welcome newcomers. I'm Kristy, 41, from New Zealand. I've been married to my husband for 18 years, and we have four children - 17, 15 and twins turning 12 in a few weeks.
I have a boring day job where I work in payments compliance for a company that designs outdoor payment terminals (mainly used at gas stations - pay at pump, our products are all over the world). I'm also a qualified personal trainer, and while I'm not currently working in it, I do have my own gym set up in my garage 💪
My weight story starts in childhood with disordered eating starting around 9 or 10. By 16 I was 230 lbs, by 20 I was 280. After I met my husband at 21 I lost some, but got married, had kids... my highest weight that I know was 159kg - 350 lbs I think - at full term pregnant with my twins.
In late 2011 I decided that something had to give. My mother had weight loss surgery which prompted me to turn it down. It was right for her but not for me. So between Weight Watchers and then finding MFP at the start of 2013, I lost 73 ish kg (160 lbs). I then maintained it for a few years before injuring myself, being diagnosed with several things including Binge Eating Disorder, Anorexia, Chronic Pain and Migraines, went to pieces and slowly put a lot of weight back on.
So I started back logging daily again on MFP in February, after a lot of therapy to recover from the ED's. I am losing slowly because my body loves to throw pain and migraines at me, but losing is losing.
I live right near the beach, so I try and get out walking every weekend. Weekdays I stick to cardio in the form of my Spin Bike most days, and then I lift weights when I can. I also do a lot of yoga.
Goals for November are to weigh less at the end of the month than where I started. I would really like to get under 110 kg, but these days I am realistic that my body will do what it wills!
I have also tentatively set myself a longer term goal, it's not in stone because my overall goal is still health rather than a number on the scale. But I would love to get back under 90 kg (200 lbs) by 21 July 2021. That's my daughter's 18th birthday. Seems reasonable, so I shall have a stern talk with my body about cooperating!

Check in for the weekend
Food-logged and on target
Water-64 oz
Exercise-stationary bike 15 min (Sat) and 20 min (Sun). PT and stretching both days, Strength Sat.
I had a good weekend! I feel like I am back on track and in my routine. Hope to finish up my fall cleaning this week. I also am going to get to 30 min on the stationary bike. Otherwise, nothing exciting. I am still working on overeating and hunger. I think that won't change for a while. Hope everyone has a great day!
@1theresamcvean and @minstrelofsarcasm I forgot to post my starting weight for Nov-201.4lbs
@pacsnc6 I am happy to hear you are doing so well. xo
@1theresamcvean I love that Nov pic, it makes me want to go hiking! It is amazing how far you have come from seeing that pic, it is almost like you were reborn from that to this healthy life. Awesome goals for November!
@kandi3570 You have come so far! I am glad you have a little less running around that you can (hopefully) focus some time on yourself. I know that is hard to do with a young child. Love your goals!
@GingerPwr I love your goals for November! I am working on being consistent with these things too.
@tryingagain5 What a funny thing not to run out of Lol! Sounds like you had a nice day though.
@mxlaw90 Those are awesome goals for November! I believe small steps add up quickly. I also agree about October, it flew by for me too!
@melaniedscott I like that you found exercise you can do with your health issues. I need to stop complaining and do the same. I also love your daily goals and Nov goals too!
@debbiewsharpe I love your little southern accent in your posts You are so inspiring, you have come so far and never looked back!
@Cafelelia Awesome November goals! You are are going to be at goal before you know it! I love the Halloween pics, what an awesome costume your younger son had!!
@kirsten11872 You really have done so well! How exciting you are so close to goal. You will be there before you know it!
@kika5105 I think you have come to the right place. We are so much more than a weight loss challenge, there is so much support here. I do suggest you post or at least check in here daily, especially if you are struggling. I like your goals! One day at a time-you got this!!
@minstrelofsarcasm You just are amazing! I forget how young you are I love the pic in your post, it took me a long time to figure out that is the way to do this!
@Zumba_Luvah Awesome NSV!! You have worked so hard and you are seeing results!
@ljdanny I never realized how similar we were with gaining our weight during pregnancies-you were smart and stopped at 2 instead of continuing the cycle 5 times lol! I gained 70 with each. Nice steps this week too, I am sure it feels good to get back to walking. Do you still have to eat so slowly? Just randomly driving in the car the other day I heard a tip to use your fork in your non dominant hand to slow down,I thought of you and started wondering why you were told to eat slower after surgery.
@goingape I love your Nov. goals. I was also very impressed on the regular MFP newsfeed (not sure what that is called) that you ended up doing the C210K and are on week 9! I thought you were going to wait until the spring. That is awesome! You really are inspiring!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I love your goals, especially the one about weighing less each month than when you started. I think you LTG to get under 200 lbs by July is a totally doable one! I know you can get there! xo
@mainebeachbum Nice loss! Hope all is going well!
@4newrunner22 Nice to meet you! I hope you get as much from this group as I do!

Sunday check in
Good day yesterday. Stayed on plan and did longer IF. It turned cold overnight and there was a light dusting of snow on the rooftops this morning. But it won’t stick around and the weather is turning warm again this week. We made a massive stew and pot of soup yesterday, so it is nice not having to cook supper today. I already went for a walk today, so for once, am ahead of schedule! Hope that everyone has a great day!2 -
@sleepymom5 I wasn't told to eat slower it just kind of the way it went. It was very hard to swallow food and drinks. I was just told to not eat meat and to eat soft foods. I tried eating a cheeseburger the other night and choked, I thought I was going to eventually need saving. I decided to throw it away and eat something else. I have picked up a little speed st eating.
Today I planned on doing a walking video because it's cold and windy but when I woke up my dog didn't look so good. We are at the emergency room. I hate that they dont let you in. They came and took her away and I'm left sitting here in the parking lot. They told me to stay here it could take up to 2 hours for all her results. It's sad out here, I had to just watch some older lady come put down her little pug. She had her daughter bring him in to have it done and she was here in her car devastated. I was bawling my eyes out. I cant take it. I brought a book with me but it's a little hard to concentrate.6
