I'm working late tonight. Did a bit of meal prepping this morning, made "egg roll in a bowl" to being to work for dinner. It is so yummy. But I also am having an almost uncontrollable craving for chocolate (thanks mother nature) and I'm currently fighting myself not to get a candy bar from the vending machine.2

Where did the rest of the day go?
My son dropped by just as I was sitting down to dinner, but it was great to see him. He just lives down the road, but we haven't seen him in the past few days, so it was good. He brought Cherry Garcia ice cream, the little brat, so I am extra full tonight. Can't resist that stuff, even though I am not a fan of chocolate, I love the cherries... So today I am declaring my free day for the week. Exercise was nowhere - day of rest and relaxation it is! My husband had a laser treatment for glaucoma this afternoon, so I had to drive him there and back - good excuse, right?
It is great you got a rescue golden retriever @offitgoes - and the stealth trainer looks like a lot of fun. Walking and planking - good combo
OK! Week 1 is rolling to a close.

After reading some of these cold weather posts makes me really appreciate living in Southern California. Cold for me is when it drops into the low 50s. No excuse here for not walking.
We rescued a Golden Retriever about a month back. She is a year old and walking we go and go and go. Also DH purchase a Stealth Board last month. Makes doing planks fun. Who would of thought. Highly recommend. Our family has had a lot of fun competing against each other. https://www.stealthbodyfitness.com/shop if you want to check it out.
Congratulations on your new Goldie. We rescued a 1 1/2 year old Goldie long ago. He was the best dog there ever was. Such a good boy and great with kids. Have fun. They may be hairballs, but they are the best. That board looks like a lot of fun!MandiSaysHey wrote: »I'm working late tonight. Drink your water first. It may put an end to your craving. Good luck.
Today was a pretty good day. I logged all my food and was under calories. Didn't get out for a walk, but walked and ran around my house tonight until I went over my step goal. I walked/ran for about 20 minutes. Still wasn't a lot of cardio. Mostly fat burn with a little cardio. Water has been real good.
Back in January, I set a goal to exercise 15 minutes a day to establish a habit. I had done really great until the last few months. I want to end the year with a stronger commitment to what I started back in January. I want to get back to practicing my Pilates more and doing some cardio workouts as well as strength building. I will share my little worksheet I've used all year at the end of this month. One interesting thing is that my new fitbit has all kinds of new bells and whistles. I found my cardio score tonight and I was happily surprised that based on my data, that compared to women my age, I have very good to excellent cardio fitness. That made me really happy. There is definitely room for improvement through more cardio work and weight loss. I want to be completely excellent. LOL Now, that I am officially in menopause I also need to keep my bones strong and work those muscles.
@evangsimmons170 Hope you feel better soon.3 -

That said, be sure to report how many minutes you did on the elliptical! I can convert those into step numbers that will be WAY better than just the steps themselves. So pause your step counter and just post how many minutes and how intense (low, like walking - medium, like jogging - intense, like really sweating and panting). I'll convert those minutes into steps and it will be added to your "normal" steps. You'll like the numbers
@jugar awesome! I'll do that. Thank you! My husband is doing the snow dance also. He is from upstate NY and misses it like crazy!! hahaha Earning a shower! That is hard core, and may need to be implemented over here.
@micki48 My steps for Friday December 4 are 16,509 Excellent day with my grandkids.
Leggings: We got you Boo! hahahahahhaha
@offitgoes That looks amazing!! Core and balance the ultimate challenge!
@evangsimmons170 I'm so glad you don't have covid! I hope you feel better quickly.1 -
Silly Saturday it is! This has nothing to do with weight loss, but my daughter sent it to me after her recent 8 weeks of training in Alberta. The photo is one of her "boys" getting the rations out of the snow. Think of them when you open your fridge! I love the idea of the H in Canadian Army

PW 196.1

If you could have only seen all the things I did to get that under. That is really funny! No clothes. Took off all jewelry and Fitbit (that must weigh a half pound, right?) And bathroom. But, I got there. Yay!!!8 -
Wow, am I late to the game this month. And you have all been very busy posting.
I'm CG, live in NW Alberta although I'm currently residing in Edmonton caring for our eldest son who gave us all quite the health scare at the beginning of November. After three weeks in hospital they released him but only if he had someone who could live-in with him to help with his treatment because his vision is quite compromised at this point. Plus we got a call from contact tracing and it turns out that he was exposed to a positive COVID case for the last four days of his hospital stay! We are almost at the end of his 14 day quarantine and so far nothing so we are hopeful. But it certainly is a complication we did not need. So that is what I'm up to right now.
My exercise of choice is strength training and weight lifting. Got into at age 59, 3 years ago. But I haven't been to the gym now since late October and likely won't be back home until late December so I'm on a bit of an enforced hiatus right now. When the stay-at-home hit last March I got serious about weight loss and managed to drop 30 pounds but the last few months I am rather stuck. And sadly this last month I am creeping back up. And while with everything going on in our lives I understand why it is happening, I still need to get back on track before I undo all my hard work from the spring.
Apologies that I am not interacting more with all of you, but right now honestly there is not much energy left for it. But I think about you even if I'm not here and that helps me too.5 -

I'm a little shocked I'm down at all as I went a bit over every night. The hubs and I have a midnight snack after the older kids go to bed (the baby is all over the place with her sleep). I'm thinking it's because I'm nursing so those extra calories go to her.

2 pm and I have eaten all my calories for the day. That is with taking the dog on a 3 mile walk. One in-n-out meal took all the calories. Hamburger, fries, and a shake. ugg:(

Hello and happy Saturday 😊
@evangsimmons170 Hope you feel better soon. We have a contraption like that at work called a peddelo. Kids love it and we have been known to organize some races for the grown-ups when the kids are gone!
Loved hearing about everyone's exercise! I generally always pick workouts that can be done lifelong. I avoid anything high impact because you only get one body so take care of those joints. I like to walk, hike and snowshoe. I fit these in as I can. These are my fun things that get me out in nature. I'm new to lifting. I lift 3 days a week and I lift heavy and try for 3 sets of 8 reps. Honestly I'm lifting weights to help increase the calories I burn at rest. My main exercise and my favorite is Ballet Beautiful. It's tough and his changed my body in such a dramatic way. So much more change from Ballet than pilates, barre or aerobic/hiit workouts I've done in the past. I started Ballet in June and when I went back to work in September my coworkers couldn't believe how much weight I had lost. Actually I had only lost 4 lbs but my body changed dramatically from working out.
My barriers are mom guilt. Feeling like I should spend time with kids and work out later. Then I get tired because it's 8 in the evening.4 -

I don’t know where my motivation has gone but I’m going to look for it... lots of Christmas wine is not helping. 🍷🍷🍷4 -
Some good giggles today - and thanks for news @CanadianGiraffe - it has been a rough month for you. It is good to hold on and not slip too far with your weight, but I think there are other things that take priority right now. You'll be back at it soon.
@offitgoes - all veggies only for dinner for you!! It is amazing how one meal can throw the whole day off, but just keep to simple veggies (as many as you want so you don't feel starved) and then tomorrow go a bit light too. You've got this!
I should talk - some of the ice cream my son brought me last night has been consumed, but it was salad for lunch and a light dinner, so I think I'm ok. It was really delicious
Here we are, ending another week. Let's get those last weigh-ins done! LAST CALL -

@jugar Something is up with the step spread sheet. It is definitely not adding up the totals correctly. I know that the Saturday cells aren't computing, but it may have been earlier in week. Sorry, I just noticed this and have no idea what to do about it. I can add them, but then our final totals won't be right.
My steps and water have been really good today. Took a nice walk to look at the decorations by myself. I haven't walked my longer route in about a week and my hips and low back were killing me. I guess I need to slow down and stretch more.
I loved the silly memes. Thanks all.
@CanadianGiraffe So glad to hear from you. What an ordeal you've been through. Glad to hear your son is doing well so far and no Covid symptoms. Stay healthy. Give yourself a break. There is only so much you can do and you have been doing a lot. Take care of you and check in when you can.3 -

Sorry I'm late with my weigh in! However nothing has changed yet:
PW 92.4

Well I can't expect miracles - especially as I haven't properly got back into things yet. Reading about everyone's exercise here is inspiring me though. And I'm loving the silly memes!
I think I just need to give myself a bit of a kick, I was doing so well back in October. Then I had a month off and now I'm really struggling! Wednesday and Thursday were good days. I went to the gym and stayed under calories. But Friday and yesterday have been write-offs We even ordered pizza last night, me and my partner we were both feeling a bit down so definitely a bit of emotional eating going on there!
But... Today is a new day... I need to keep telling myself that and get back on top of this!5 -
@jugar I apologize that I keep having a late weigh in. Thanks for the kick. I’ve not been on track with food, alcohol or exercise lately which makes me higher in general and on Fridays. Then I want to wait until Saturday or Sunday to see how the weight changes...
I have to be more honest with myself and the team. I know you are working to keep track of us all. Thanks again for that.3 -
