@KellyBgetsfit I love using bone broth! It's so much richer and delicious. I make my own and it is even better! It's really easy to make, especially with an Instant Pot. If you want beef: get marrow bones and roast them for an hour in the oven (300 degrees F). When they're done, add them to 6-8 cups of water, and 1/4 cup vinegar in your pot (of any kind - doesn't have to be a true "Instant Pot"). Add a whole onion (uncut) Spanish ones are my favorite but any kind will do. Cook on "broth" setting (or simmer in a pot for 2-3 hours). Vinegar is the magic ingredient that helps the marrow meld into the broth, increasing the protein level.
Pour into a pitcher or something you can refridgerate overnight. Remove the fat from the top of the broth then put into ball jars and keep in the fridge until you need it.
I usually make a bunch of it and, after defatting it, put into quart containers and freeze them. I use roasted whole chicken bones for chicken broth. Yum.
@Kali225 good luck switching over to being a morning (and morning workout) person - especially in the winter. The only times I've been able to get up and out early is when I have someone else who'll do it simultaneously.

Today is my younger daughter's 35th birthday. It's really hard to shift my perspective on the movement of time! Besides the fact that this week I haven't done much tracking, in spite of my good intentions last week. So, this week, I will log meals, do some pilates, and take my measurements. If I do the measurements once per month, I'll have another tool to use in my "NSV" (non-scale-victory) bag!
I'm intent on reducing the lower-abdominal flabby-flap. I'm tired of lugging it around.
OK, time for an epsom salt bath and early to bed for a good-quality sleep, I hope!

@ells_runs I'm sorry for your loss and the feelings that go with the disappointment from things unsaid. Cling to your immediate family and go forward knowing your children will never feel about a parent as you feel yourself. *hugs*
Team, I'm sad I have a Garmin instead of a Fitbit! I want to join the hustle. Ohh well.... I need the motivation. Everyone have fun! I set up my free weights in an empty corner of the house so I'm hoping I'll spend an evening or two during the week doing ANY exercise besides keeping the couch warm.
I'm back at work tomorrow so back to better, fixed portion sizes! The free grazing that comes with proximity to the kitchen on weekends isn't working with my current willpower. Tomorrow is a new day!

Hello it's Sunday night 🌙
Friday and Saturday I went over calories and cookies were involved 😋 The entire weekend has been really good for workouts. Today was a very good eating day and 50 min of weight lifting and 1 hour of ballet with my mother in law and daughter. This week I met my water goal daily and exceed my exercise goals. I only met my protein goal of >25% on 2 days. It is actually quite a bit of growth for me but I won't increase the % this week until I hit 5 days.
I love all the workout equipment set up! I would LOVE to leave mine out. Our house is too small so everything is set up and taken down every time. Oh well!2 -

Another 1lb off. I'm a little surprised the numbers haven't been higher to begin with, as they usually would be more like 4-5lb if I got back on the WW bandwagon, but I'm wondering whether drinking 2l+ of water a day (which is not something I normally make an effort to do) is balancing out the changes in water retention. It could also be that I'm snacking quite a lot on carb-heavy foods - within my calorie goal - and I need more protein/fat. I'm finding that I often have 500+ calories left over in an evening before taking exercise into account and some days I'll try and snack 50-75% of them, other days I'll leave them as I'm not hungry or it's too late for more food. Yesterday, after eating 1600 calories (goal is 1900, all numbers rounded!), I supposedly had a deficit of 1000 after exercise...
For now I'm not changing the calorie goal or trying to do more than track calorie intake (plus 30 min activity a day and 2L plus water a day over on the tracking thread) because I don't want to change so much at once that it gets overwhelming and I give up. The plan is to revisit the plan at the end of January, probably focusing on increasing protein intake for February.

Good Morning HAPPY MONDAY!!! The weekend went way to fast, as usual. Back to the grind of work, cheer competition, and selling Girl Scout Cookies!!! (She set a goal to donate 150 boxes to the military and to sell 2021 boxes ALL BY HERSELF! 🤦🏻♀️) During this season I’m literally gone from 7am until 830 pm 5 nights a week and don’t even have time to think. My goal for this week is to stay within my calorie goal INCLUDING next weekend! I did not meet that goal this week, the weekends are hard for me. So I’m going to keep myself accountable and keep y’all updated to see how that goes!...
Do y’all do Monthly goals or weekly goals?
I do set monthly goals but for some reason I can’t stick to them. I seem to do WAY better with short term goals..

I had a GREAT weekend. It was too cold to go outside, but I got a lot of steps just moving around the house. I got in a killer workout, slept well, ate well, spent some quality time with the family, read some, and worked some. It all felt very balanced. The scale was happy this morning.6 -
Okay so I set myself up for success this week, I had a bad weekend... I might change my weigh in day, next month, if I can't get my weekends under control.. It didn't help that I couldn't exercise this weekend, but thats over, so I am looking towards this week. I really want to get back into the 150's...
This week my goals are
Monday - Morning - 10 min hiit, 20 min video Evening= 30 min yoga, 15 min treadmill
Tuesday - Morning - 10 min Hiit, 30 min video Evening = 10 min on treadmill, 10 min rowing,20 min video
Weds - morning - 20 min hiit , 20 min video Evening = 45 min video
Thurs - Morning- 10 min hiit, 30 min video Evening = 30 min yoga, 15 min treadmill, 10 row
Friday - Morning- 10 min hiit, 20 min video Evening = 45 min walk/jog outside
Saturday - Morning- 20 min hiit, 45 min video, 2 mile dog walk
Sunday - off
I haven't done the treadmill in a while, as that was what made my tendonitis/ planter facsiatis flare up, I haven't had it since I stopped using it, so I am going to go slow on it, and really try to pay attention to how I walk on it... And the rowing, well it's just hard to row for more than a few minutes at a time, it's so boring...

Good Monday morning! I never got on yesterday. But it was a good day. I logged and was under. Did 16 minutes of Pilates and took a 36 minute walk. Saw my daughter and family. Had them for dinner. Read a little. I think I have too many things I’m trying to track in too many places. I ran out of time doing them all.
Seems everyone is doing fairly well. Good to read all the updates. Better get moving here. My sleep score was 89, but my wake score, so far, is 0😉. Going to watch my granddaughter in a bit so my daughter has time to get some work done. I’ll check back later.

In answer to your question @SMcFall0215 - I am terrible at long term goals, even monthly. I sometimes put in an "aim" - this month I aim to lose 3 pounds - but that is more a direction than a firm goal. Weekly is also hard, but I set my daily goals every week, and then track them with the habit tracker. Sometimes I change one or two of the daily habits from week to week, and some never change. I do better with actions (habits) than aspirations (goals). Daily helps a lot. Your schedule sounds so crazy, that maybe having just a few small actions to include in those jam-packed days will work well. Good luck!!

@SMcFall0215 I like to have 1-2 bigger monthly goals when it makes sense, but I am definitely a week-to-week person for all my stuff, heath-related or otherwise. I did start planning meals further out so I can schedule some fun takeout meals and not always have to grocery shop on Sundays!

I had a solid Sunday, although I did have more snacks than I planned on. I went hiking with a friend in the morning, sold that dining set I mentioned (so quickly, and the buyer already picked it up!), and did a nice session of dance cardio. It's a gray day here today, but after selling the dining set, I moved my work from home setup into the room where the set was, and now it is like an office! Hoping the better lighting situation helps me be productive. I am also seeing the first of 3 apartment tours this week, this afternoon. Definitely going to be a crazy busy week but I have a plan in place.

@SMcFall0215 215 I set goals weekly to try to obtain long term success. I am actually in a challenge group with 4 friends. We all set 3 goals per week and then we get stars based on if we meet those goals.4
