Hi everyone!
I'm finally here to do my introduction. I joined at the end of March but my husband, myself and my 2 kiddos took a staycation (sort of) last week. I'm slowly working my way through all the posts/introductions I've missed and I'm so excited to be a part of such a wonderful group of people!
My name is Kelly and I'm 34. My husband and I have been together for 14 years (6 married) and have 2 wonderful children, a 4 year old girl and a 1-1/2 year old boy. We also have 2 spoiled cats named Luna and Bean. I live in South Louisiana and work for a small family-owned business. I've struggled with my weight for most of my life. I was at my highest weight of 204 lbs. when I became pregnant with my daughter and swore up and down that I would get back to where I was comfortable after she was born. Skip ahead to after my son was born and I set my new highest weight at 224 lbs. Once "lockdown" began in my area I started to slowly change my eating habits and walk for exercise and eventually managed to lose 30 lbs. In January I joined a gym and started weight lifting with some running here and there and have not really lost much more weight (partly due to bad eating habits creeping back in) I'm currently at 193 lbs. for a total of 31 lbs. lost. My goal weight is at least 160 lbs. but I'm going to aim for 150 lbs. before I start to try to maintain between 150-160. I'm hoping being a part of this group will give me the kick in the pants that I need to get back on track!
Hope everyone has a great week!5 -
@Katmary71 Egg fights sound like so much fun! I will have to remember this for next Easter.
I lol'ed at the idea of being grounded at 49And I hope that your telehealth appointment went well and you got the referral that you needed this time.
@AustinRuadhain Thank you, he really loved the hunt. We thought he'd be too little to get it (he's 2 and a quarter!) but when we went to our friends' place and they did a hunt for all the kids (theirs are 5 and 3), they'd made him his own little basket and everything, and he loved it! So then we had to quickly get some little eggs to hide for him as we hadn't planned it. As soon as he saw the little basket, he knew just what to do! I hope he never outgrows Easter egg hunting - like me, I would LOVE if someone hid eggs for me!

I had a terrible day yesterday, everything just seemed to go wrong! First I got delayed with some work stuff (as in, someone else didn't do their job and would be a whole day late which means I cannot physically meet the deadlines I need to meet). Then our toilets at work got backed up and they had to call the plumber out to clear it - which took hours and we were almost at the point of driving 15 mins each way to go home for a bathroom break! Then, hubby sent me a message that my laptop at home has completely died. It was on it's last legs for a while, but now it's completely dead.
I will admit that I did stress-eat about the work stuff. But I turned my day around when I got home. I cooked a nice dinner of curried sausages, did a nice long yoga session and finished the day with a decent deficit. It could have been a lot worse so while I did stress-eat a bit, I am giving myself credit for recognising that, and stopping it.
Today, I will be completely flat out at work as I attempt to make up some of the lost time. I bought myself some fruity tisanes to try and they arrived yesterday so I'm hopeful that I can drink a cup of tea instead of eating all the chocolate today!

@TwistedSassette That is wonderful that your little guy had such a good time this Easter. Egg hunts are the best! I am sorry that you had such a terrible day at work and a dead computer is always a bummer. That is great that you were able to turn your stress eating around. You are doing so great!
@kellyisonamission Welcome to the group, Kelly! You are now part of a wonderful community that will give you a lot of support and encouragement as you work to getting to your goals. That is so awesome that you lost 30 lbs. during lockdown!Exercising is so good for our bodies, but I’m sure you know that it’s our eating that matters the most. Do you have a particular diet that you are trying to stick to?
@Katmary71 Ohhh I am sorry about the broken chair! You are probably right that you could be putting more pressure on it because of needing support when sitting down. Hopefully, it can be fixed. I had to laugh at that ski trip story. When I was in high school I told my parents that the girls were going hiking in the Rockies (we lived in Denver at that time) and that we would have adults with us. We did have adults. Two of the boys were 18!!
@dignow96 Good job on getting a loss during Easter and such a busy work week!
@caitlingfry Going into a week that is a minefield of birthday cake with a plan is awesome! Do you have any fun plans for your extra long weekend?
Good morning team! Sorry that I didn’t check in yesterday, but we were out of the house for most of the day and I was exhausted when I came home. Hubby and I had a great day shopping! I didn’t end up with very many new clothes because the styles are just so UGLY!! But I did find two pairs of jeans, a couple of shirts, and a pair of shoes. The best part of the day was that I could wander around all these stores and not once have to go into the plus-size section. It’s so bizarre to see the plus sizes and know by looking at them that they are too big for me. Very exciting!Today, we are all going to get our first Covid shot, and then I have to teach the littles at church this evening.

@Katmary71 good idea! I have it on the back burner that at the first sight of unexplainable mood swing I am going to get on the pill or something for short term. I am currently not doing anything to see if I get a regular cycle. He told me to call if I don’t have a regular cycle by August, so I’m going to wait until at least early summer to see what my body can do on its own. I let the important people in life know I’m going unregulated for the first time in a long time so we can talk about it if need be.
@AustinRuadhain thanks! We got the MasterClass app and that’s where we found the picky French baker we decided to copy for fun. We have 14 chickens laying right now and we’ll have 21 laying by mid summer so we tend to do a lot of baking/kitchen experiments in general.

It’s Wednesday morning and I’m not working in homes this week. We found out the timeline of our COVID positive family and determined we were exposed last Monday and Tuesday and going to play it safe. (The day of my first vaccination!! Ugh I guess I LOVE testing science)
My partner and I were just getting ready to head to a session and talking about how we’re both feeling some allergy symptoms. I then said, “I don’t want to alarm you but I couldn’t taste my broccoli at lunch.” To which she replied “oh good, I just realized I couldn’t smell the dinner being cooked/burnt at -VERY aromatic family’s- house last night.” To which I said “yikes. Their house in general smells like yesterday’s dinner. Let’s get tested.”
This is my second sinus infection in 6 weeks and I’m so over it! I went for a walk with my mom on Monday which was huge pollen exposure, even came home like “woah, too much nature in my nose for my liking.” Pretty sure my test will be negative but I’m so ready for the pandemic to subside so I can just be confident in my sinus infections!! Maybe I’ll start wearing masks on my nature walks to protect from pollen!!
Now I’m waiting in my room for my test results even though I’m pretty sure it’s not COVID. I caught up on greys anatomy last night and today... idk what I’ll get into today.
Hopefully the shower.2 -
@TwistedSassette what a day you had! It seemed to snowball and you turned it around with grace! Way to go getting home and keeping your peace. Hopefully today goes better at work 💞1
-
@kellyisonamission hey Kelly, welcome!! I love the lockdown weight loss, I think it has been a tremendous time to look inward and do the self work! Idk about Louisiana but Pennsylvania has decent parks available for nature walks and hikes that have been my respite for lockdown. Gym seems to be working for you tho so get it girl!! 👏👏
@TeresaW1020 no plans really. I’m currently awaiting covid test results which kind of took the wind out of my sails. Today is my boyfriends birthday, my moms birthday is on Sunday, and mines on Monday. My sisters unofficial wedding anniversary is Friday but she cut herself off from the family after her wedding.
*taking suggestions for quarantine birthdays round two* 😂😂😂1 -
@trooworld the only real plans I made was with my mom, since she’s 4/11 and I’m 4/12, we’re going to have dinner with my dad on her birthday somewhere around here (provided I get the negative results soon!). And walking. We like to walk and talk. As far as the foods go - the portions have been my biggest feat in this lifestyle change. Idk how accurate these things are but I try to use them loosely. The two things that stuck with me (again idk how accurate they are, they just gave me some perspective) : 1. your stomach is the size of your fist. 2. A portion of protein is about the size of deck of cards. Another thing that has been less prevalent in my thought process itself but not gone from my perception is seeing what the weight of sugar looks like in more relatable measuring terms. Like taking the weights and putting it into “cups” or something so I can see and understand how insanely high the amount sugar is. So those are the things I’m mindful of most of the time, which helps a little even at special events.
This Easter was a good representation of how my plates even look different since I changed my lifestyle.. it was visually like 80% veggies which I know shocks my mom 😂. Like yeah I had a whole piece of ham, but I also had broccoli, asparagus, corn, sweet potato, fruit salad. So while the plate’s portions leaned to the side of holiday eating (not like the 2-3 plates before), the portions on the plate and the choices I make have changed, which is pleasing to me. (We don’t need to talk about the winter holidays right now though 😬)
I LOVE your words for wellness Wednesday: (as I type on my phone) - it’s a serious issue that I deal with every day! Myself, the kids, the parents: the phones are interfering with our own well-being and our relationships!! Thank you for sharing that!!4 -

Hi everyone! Bday was good. Between Easter and my bday, I've been indulging in sweets (I had given them up for Lent and was craving pretty bad). I am going to get back on track this week after that indulgence. I've been walking more as I finally got my knee injection. Have a great week!3 -

Second week steady. It could be better but it could be soooo much worse. I have this tendency to stay at one weight for a while so now I’m trying to up my walks and my water intake. It’s been less than a week since I started paying attention to this but I’m sure if I’m consistent, something will work better because of it. Please let it be sleep first 😁.3 -
@TeresaW1020 I don't like a lot of the modern styles of clothing either. I don't understand the recent trend for ugly patterns and colours like mustard! But wow, that must have been a great feeling to not even look at the plus-size section - one day I hope to get there!
@caitlingfry Fingers crossed for a negative result. I hate that results take so long to come!
@trooworld OMG I have this image of your dog licking his eyeballs - so gross!
I love the words for Wellness Wednesday. I am working on putting my phone down more and feeling better for it!
@AustinRuadhain I tried the Plum Village app last night for the first time - thank you for the recommendation! I just chose a really short meditation as I was preparing for sleep, but I liked that it wasn't really "talky" which annoys me in a lot of the other meditations I have tried.
@leonadixon I'm glad you got your knee injection and that you are able to walk more now. Less than a half-pound gain with Easter and your birthday doesn't actually sound bad! You got this.
@GabiV125 I have that same tendency, my weight stays the same and then whoosh it drops a bunch without me really doing anything differently! Walking and water are great ideas

Quick update from me - work was better yesterday, I stayed back a little and got my report out on time despite being delayed by a day - luckily I was able to shuffle some things around while waiting. Got a big thank you from my boss and his boss which is always nice! Was exhausted and we ended up getting takeaway for dinner. I ate a little too much but still had a deficit. Up a little on the scale today thanks to the salty foods. Didn't exercise, but did meditate, which was nice.
Today, I have much less stress at work, and should be a fairly normal day. My sister is coming over to cook dinner for us tonight - not sure what she is making so I will try to save as many calories as I can just in case. My biggest thing is portions, even if she makes something deliciously naughty, I can eat it I just need to only have a bit instead of my usual tendency to serve a big plateful and eat it all. Serve it smaller, eat it slower, savour every bite. <- my mantra for tonight!

Happy Wednesday!
It has been a good day. It started by realizing that we had not put out both trash cans last night, sprinting to get #2 out there, and getting it to the curb before the track arrived. Woohoo!
I am on track to get my checkmarks in for the day. I still need to meditate and promise to do that before bed.
✔️Food on plan (Dr F) (7xwk)
✔️Breathing practice (7x wk)
✔️Cardio (6/wk)
⚪Meditation practice
✔️No food after 9 pm (8 pm pref) (I hereby promise not to break into the pantry for some after-hours pb. Even if I am tempted.)
🟡Exercise Challenge (FitRockr): I am a little short of my l to go up a lveel this week. Extra exercise tomorrow is planned!

@TwistedSassette
Oh, yay! I am so glad you found Plum Village worthwhile. I, too, find some of the others too chatty, though I know some people love that.
If you are up for about 10 minutes, there's one that is Thich Nhat Hanh speaking called Flower Fresh that I particularly appreciate. 💮
I love your mantra: Serve it smaller, eat it slower, savour every bite
And I hope your meal with your sister was lovely!
@GabiV125
Holding steady is GREAT sometimes!
Keep experimenting and you will find the thing to change. Your determination is so inspiring! 🤩
@leonadixon
So glad you enjoyed your Easter indulgences. Hurray to the knee injection and getting to walk more (and comfortably)!
@caitlingfry
Your Easter plate being filled with all those fruits and vegetables sounds so wonderfully healthy!
And, yes, no need to discuss the winter holidays right now.
Good luck on the COVID test. 🤞🏾 It's a little odd to be hoping that someone has allergies, but I hope you and your partner are just fighting the pollen.
The picky French baker sounds so fun!
Wait, you have 14 chickens? Wow! Are they all the same breed? Hens only?
@trooworld
Aww, you are most welcome for the Plum Village recommendation. (It's free and easy to uninstall if not a fit!)
Tanks for the inspirational; reminder abotu checking our mindsets!
@TeresaW1020
A big hooray to that first vaccination!
And an even bigger hooray to seeing the plus sizes and knowing by looking at them that they are too big for you. That IS super exciting!

Happy Thursday, awesome Slimsters!
@trooworld
I am glad the Plum Village meditation was a contribution. I too find the body scans helpful.
Having your dog's stitches come out AGAIN is something just about anybody would find overwhelming. I am glad you were gentler and kind with yourself.
🏆 Not stress eating in the midst of that is indeed a choice to be proud of. I am impressed!
I am wishing you peace of mind today, in the midst of supporting your poor doggy. 💮
@19shmoo69
Hey there! Welcome back! 🎉🤗
I am off to tackle my day. I need to get some extra exercise in, and will be doing it be doing yard work later today. Woohoo! More outside time is always good for decreasing my stress level. I have a board meeting this weekend I am prepping for, and feeling a bit crazy about all there is to do, Time to take a break and check my mindset as @trooworld reminded us!3 -
@trooworld Oh no! Your poor pooch! Does he have to have surgery again?!
Been keeping up with all of you, but not posting this week. We are moving the kids home tomorrow, so that will be an active day!1 -
@trooworld So very sorry that you are having so much stress with your dog!! Good for you for not stress-eating. I am very proud of you too for doing that and for keeping up with your mediating.
Hi team! I woke up with a headache and my arm hurting a little from the vaccine. I went to work and had my staff meeting and then we had to clean out a huge amount of stuff under both our stairwells because the Fire Marshall seems to think that is NOT a good idea. I then cleaned the main church building. There was all this Easter candy that I got into and I’m super annoyed with myself right now. My weight is up and it sure won’t be better I the morning. I’ve been halfhearted with my fasting and eating since Easter. I don’t really understand why I’m self-sabotaging myself other than the addiction of carb brain has been calling the shots lately. Soooo I need to get it together and stop this crappy behavior. Starting tonight with dinner I am going strict Keto and fasting. Buying new smaller clothes is fun and I don’t want that fun to stop!!

May I rejoin the team? I promise to do my best to play nice.
Sure, you can come back! Please give @broncobuddee your weigh-in day and your starting weight.

@AustinRuadhain Thanks, I'll find the Flower Fresh track next time I'm looking to meditate!
@trooworld Oh no, not again! Is there anything they can do to stop it happening? A mild sedative or something? Poor doggo and poor you. But also props to you for recognising your emotion and labelling it, it really helps a lot in figuring out how to deal with your feelings. That's something I need to work on as well.
@TeresaW1020 Awwww no, not the Easter candy. It's so tempting! I have two mini eggs sitting in a jar on my desk at work, they keep calling my name but I challenged myself on Tuesday that they should be still there at the end of the day. They were. It's now Friday and they're still there! But be kind to yourself, you had a setback and you recognised it and you know what to do to turn it around. What advice would you give a friend in the same position?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday was good. My sister ended up making a casserole which I also make so I know what's in it, and while I did have a large serving I did so knowing that I could fit in the calories for it! We had a few beers, watched the football and chatted so it was a really good evening. I was a bit late to bed (ok, very late) but since I've been getting a good amount of sleep this week it wasn't too hard to get up at 5:30 this morning for work! I did some walking and finished under my calorie goal for the day (even with 4 beers!) so I'm happy overall.
I'm still retaining some water weight, but am down slightly from last week.
@trooworld sorry to hear about your pup! Its so hard to stay present when our fur (or real) babies need help. I’m glad you were able to catch yourself and slow down!! Great skills 😊
@AustinRuadhain yes we have all hens! My dads family actually farmed eggs in the 70s, 80s and 90s (think tens of thousands of hens). Today my parents have soon to be 21 layers of like 6-8 different breeds (my mom chooses based off the color of the egg) so their dozens come with a few blue eggs, some brown, tan, and whites. They just got some olive eggers this year so now there will be some olive colored eggs in the mix.
Thursday update:
Test results came back, unfortunately we’re both positive. It’s been a real rollercoaster of a day. And I decided I’m not going to try to eat broccoli again until I know I will taste it. 😂
Just set up my video games in my bedroom to have a real bachelorette frog style few days off. 🐸🦠😷
Really can’t believe I got exposed the same day I got vaccinated. I feel like I lost a race! What a rollercoaster of emotions, for real. Well I guess I have a pretty good chance of losing that Easter/stress eating (one pound) that i gained.. and then some.. by my Saturday weigh in. The appetite really does just vanish with the senses, adding another loop in my emotional rollercoaster because I want to enjoy my CHOCOLATE!!! 😭😭😭
Ok well I’m feeling well enough so this isn’t a sympathy post really just a rant in this awful global situation. Also really glad (and repeating it in hopes of drilling it into my memory) that my BFF nurse shared with me that I should still go get my second shot as scheduled as is best practice according to UPMC (anybody from PA? Lol)
So I’m wrapping up.. most of my days are going to look pretty bleak for a while so I might be quiet. Reading! But quiet. Stay safe out there beautiful people!! 🤗❤️😷3 -
@TwistedSassette - backtracking- I could not believe your bad day at work- everything PLUS toilet problems! Good for you for hanging in there and working through it. Glad you had fun with your sis.
@TeresaW1020 - It's a big challenge NOT to get into stuff that is just laying right there in front of you. You know how to get back on your horse this week, no matter what the scale says tomorrow. You are a determined butt kicker and nothing will get you down.
@caitlingfry - Soooo sorry to hear you are positive in the home stretch. Feel free to share your bleak with us as you will have plenty of time to log on! Definitely no broccoli while in quarantine!
Well, the van is prepped for the journey tomorrow. We are out the door early. I need some skinny vibes for my weigh in before we get on the road. Things look pretty good, but a bit of a down woosh in the am would be welcome.2 -
@Cornanda Good luck with the move tomorrow. I like active days; I burn lots of calories while being busy.
@TeresaW1020 I hope your headache is gone and your arm is better. Don’t be hard on yourself we all go through ups and downs, getting back on track faster is the key. Sometimes it takes me a day or two and sometimes I don’t until like a week later, but I say it is better than not get back at all.
@TwistedSassette Family time is the best, enjoy it and make up for it the next day – that’s what I do all the time.
@GabiV125 Steady is better than gaining. I’ve been steady for more than 2 months now, it is killing me but at least I do not see the number go up. Changing some routines, or as you said pay attention to other your water intake and being consistent will pay off, hang in there.
@leonadixon Happy Belated birthday! Glade you got your knee injection and get to walk more.
Easter weekend was lots of fun, we drove up to Rochester MN and had a great time with my parents and brother. But my parents left going back home, to Jerusalem. Happy for them as they are so excited and been wanting to go back for so long, but so sad we will miss them so much. They came to visit back in Feb. 2020 for a 2-month trip and have been kinda “stuck” the whole year because of COVID, my brothers (both physicians) weren’t agreeing on them travelling before getting the vaccine. So, once vaccinated they flew … the good news is that they will be back in the fall, my youngest brother is “finally” getting married late this year or early next year. That’s all the info we have as of right now, so it is really very important to me to lose the weight, I want for once to look good in weddings ☹ and he is the last in the family to get married, all my siblings are married and have kids.
Trying to check in one more time. I seem to be having issues with my app. For some reason I keep losing my post.
Sounds like it has been a very busy time.
I have been able to stay on track with both exercise and nutrition.
I will try one more time tomorrow to make a longer post2 -
@TeresaW1020 I am so sorry about your self-sabotage. I surely know the struggle. I hope you can break out of it really quick.
@trooworld What in the world is that doggie doing when you’re not looking? That is some serious determination. I wonder if doggie is trying to communicate something to you…that something isn’t right?
@TwistedSassette That is hilarious that those candy eggs have been sitting on your desk. By the time you think you will want them, they’ll be stale and tasteless anyway! And how awesome that you are able to have so many relaxing visits with family and friends and enjoy yourself but still stay within your calories.
@caitlingfry I am so sorry about you and your partner testing positive. I hope you both have mild cases with as little ickies as possible.
@Cornanda Save travels!
@RYcare <<hugs>> I’m sorry your parents flew back…but at least you got to have them here for so long!
My apologies for such sporadic posts. I’m trying to make time to sit down with the laptop to write…since every time I try to do it on my phone, I hit the wrong dang button and lose everything I’ve written. I have to tell you all about my sweet Hunter (youngest daughter). She’s notice how I’m all-in on this WW Green plan and paid attention to all my chatter about zero point foods. Two nights ago, she came home from work and presented me with a gift. It was a large reusable grocery bag that had veggies all over it and it said “I’m rooting for you!” and inside there were bell peppers (one of each color), asparagus, bananas, zucchini, summer squash, jalepeno, heirloom cherry tomatoes, lemon, lime, pineapple, frozen stir fry veggies and tofu. All zero point foods, except the tofu. There was also a box of tissue and she said that was for when the going gets tough and I want to cry. How sweet! We’ve been enjoying the fresh veggies and fruits every day – air fried chickpea tacos with roasted veg, sweet and sour stir fry (that pineapple was perfection!), snacking on tomatoes and naners… So far, so good!
I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday tomorrow (today for our Aussie)! Hugs, love and determination vibes from Michigan!
@19shmoo69 Welcome back my friend!
@Caitlingfry I'm sorry to hear you have COVID! Take good care of yourself and spoil yourself a bit. What are you reading?
@TwistedSassette Glad you had a better day, sounds like everything went wrong a few days ago!
@leonadixon Happy belated birthday!
@TeresaW1020 No, I didn't get hurt, just felt really bad because my mom said to be careful and I was so worried about sitting I just did it after getting food. I know you can get back on track, you're too dedicated not to!
@AustinRuadhain Something tells me you rarely DON'T hit all your check marks! Do you grow your own food? I remember you compost, I just started doing that again.
@trooworld Oh my gosh, a cone won't work if your dog is licking the eye, what the heck? All I can think is a muzzle!
@RYCare Sounds like good things are happening in the family and you have a great goal to strive toward. I hope your parents have a fun trip and congratulations on your brother's wedding.
@vegan4lyfe2012 What an awesome, thoughtful gift from your daughter! I love that she did that. I'm reading Joe Hill by the way, do you like him?2 -
@trooworld I definitely think stress plays a role in holding on to weight. I know I earned some of my weight gain but I've logged most the time and it shouldn't be as much as it is. I think eventually when things settle down our bodies will get back on track.
Hey team, sorry I haven't posted in a few days! My approval for the drug test finally went through so it's on Tuesday, then I can finally get the referral for the pain clinic and see if they have any ideas. Doing my usual workouts but I overdid it a few days ago and have been struggling pretty hard but I can't take anything that helps if I want to pass the drug test. I almost spaced that I can't have poppyseed dressing either which is my favorite, I flagged slightly positive on a drug test before and she asked if I'd eaten poppyseed muffins, I was clueless and it wasn't until the end of the appointment that it dawned on me I was eating two salads a day with a ton of dressing! I've had one bad night of eating but overall am eating at a deficit and feel good about it though my body's not changing at all. I also scheduled my endometrial biopsy the same day I got a callback on needing further breast imaging. Honestly, my life would be great if I was a boy, all my problems aside of my back surgery stem from being a girl!
We managed to get two of the cats on the leash yesterday, the other three sit in the doorway and watch so I may need to get a second especially because Asher cries to Jasper through the door. The hardest part is the harness goes over their head and they hate it, Jasper cried but he had fun once he was outside. My folks are coming by in a bit so I need to rush around and straighten up. My mom is badly allergic to cats (I am too but not like her thank goodness) so I need to do the best I can to de-cat a house with 4 cats! I'm still doing my usual workouts. Tomorrow I'm planting oak trees in a Folsom park, should be fun!2 -
@TeresaW1020
Thanks! I mostly do CICO, I don’t usually do well with restrictive diets. I love being able to have treats as long as they fit into my calorie goal for the day. Me without chocolate is not pretty lol
@caitlingfry
Thanks! There are some decent parks locally that are nice but I typically exercise when my kiddos are sleeping (either 5 am gym or 8 pm walking/running) so I usually stick to my boring neighborhood which is made even more so since it’s dark out lol
@TwistedSassette Good for you for not touching those mini eggs!! Wow, that is great that you got to enjoy your sister’s casserole and the beers and still stay under your calorie goal. Way to work the system!!
@caitlingfry Uggghhh I am so sorry that you got exposed and tested positive. What a real bummer considering you just got your shot! So, you set yourself up for lots of self-care and let this virus run its course so you can heal as quickly as possible. I suppose you could look on the bright side that with no taste, you might lose a little extra weight. Just don’t touch the chocolate until you can taste it!
@Cornanda “A determined butt kicker” is exactly what I need to be. Thanks for that!!Where are you going in the van?
@RYcare Yup, I totally agree that getting back on track as soon as possible is always better than throwing in the towel. And that is NOT happening!! I know that you will miss your parents, but how nice for them that they get to go back home, which they must have really missed. I have always wanted to go to Jerusalem! Maybe someday.
@19shmoo69 Welcome back to the team! What’s been going on that made you decide to come back to Fat2Fit and this team? How can we best support you?
@laurelfit67 Yeah losing a post is the worst. I always type mine up in a Word.doc so I don’t lose them. Good job on staying on track with your exercise and nutrition. That’s how progress is made!
@vegan4lyfe2012 What a wonderful gift your daughter gave you!! I know that having her support must make you feel great and even more motivated to stick to your plan.
@Katmary71 Poppyseed dressing is my favorite too! That is great that you got the approval for the drug test and hopefully will be able to get into the pain clinic. That has been a real battle for you for a long time now. I hope all goes well with the biopsy. Have fun planting trees!!
@trooworld Yup, stress is a real factor in how our bodies hold on to weight. So, just be kind to yourself and it will come off. I do think that the Easter bunny that I ate caused a trigger for me. It also didn’t help that I had yeast rolls for two days over Easter weekend and then a large chocolate shake and fries when we went shopping. I’m a sugar addict and once it’s in me it’s like an alien has taken over my body and willpower to say no. I did much better today at saying no.
Hi team! Well, as you can see by my weigh-in, I’ve gained this week and the only real surprise was that it wasn’t more. I’m sitting at zero for the month and that sucks, but I also have three more weeks to have a good loss for the month. I went to work this morning and there sat that evil bag of Easter chocolate candy, but I didn’t even go near it! I came home and made some scrambled eggs and cheese and feel much more in control, which is how I should be. Temptation is always going to be a part of our lives and learning how to maneuver through it is the biggest battle we will face as we strive to reach and stay at our weight goals.
