Please do not use the INSIGHTFUL button to respond to someone's weigh in. Captains us this button to let the other captain/mods know that the weigh in has been posted to the spreadsheet.
Feel free to use it on regular 'discussion' posts. Also, please be mindful of the "DISAGREE" button. It appears that it was accidentally used several times last month. For example - disagree was hit on a weigh in. It was hurtful to the challenger.

Hi fellow shrinkers! This will be my second month participating in the challenge. It's so helpful to be in a group like this where I can be accountable. Last week I was struggling a bit and wrote a blog post about it. Here's the link if you think it might be helpful. https://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/coblujay/view?id=the-weight-loss-grumps-a-twelve-week-update-995464 After figuring out what was going on, I'm back on track and ready for this next round. Even with the frustration I experienced, I'm planning to make this the last time I have to focus on losing weight...maintaining will be its own struggle when the time comes, but I plan to get there.
Yesterday was swimming and a good walk with my dogs, which added about 700 calories to my bank. I don't usually eat back all the exercise calories, but love having the extra cushion. I also focused on drinking my water and eating early. Hoping for another good month.
@coblujay - Thanks for sharing your blog post … and modeling great determination for all of us! I also count on exercise calories each day so I can eat a small snack without feeling deprived when I want a little energy boost in the late afternoon.

Thank you @PatriceFitnessPal I'm glad it's helpful. I decided to track my journey on the blog so that I can remember where I've come from when things get a bit discouraging. It's a good reminder that I'm making great progress and I need to celebrate.1

Hello everyone
I'm 38 year old mom of 3 (10,11,&17). I live in NE WI. I work 3rd shift so my eating schedule is my biggest struggle.
Back in 2017 I lost 40 lbs and was only 10 lbs from my goal weight when I ended up with a stress fracture in my foot and became discouraged. Over the years I gained 35 back. This past year I have been a serial starter, but I am now determined to get my health back on track.6 -

@sigma3girl - “Back in the game” is a nice active place to be. Slowly but surely! … means you’re ‘achieving your desired results gradually and reliably rather than quickly and spectacularly.’

He is no stranger to our group, just needed a little hiatus and decided to jump back in with both feet!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I have been more focused this week than in weeks past, but far from perfection! Several months ago, @Be_theBest_Me noticed that I seem to binge every Wednesday. I didn't think much about it, but she is totally right. I have NO CLUE what is up about Wednesday, but I do. I will eat the corners off the house if I can. I did it again this week. I had communicated with a group member that I was looking at a potential 3-4 lb loss this week. I took a peek today and I will be lucky to have 2 - unless something happens in the next 24! This is ok. It is part of the learning process and something I must figure out.
I am looking for low cal dessert alternatives. I have an incredible sweet tooth that I cannot seem to manage. All suggestions are appreciated!!3 -

For me, I prefer to do my own baking, that way I am able to control the sugar
Love banana bread, but instead of adding say 1 cup of sugar - I will reduce it down to 1/4 cup or even a couple tablespoons.
Bananas are sweet and if you also add in raisins, there is no need to use all that sugar
I have cut back on sugar, that I really do not need it, now if that was real butter, we would have a problem. There is nothing that beats having good quality butter

I was on support team last month because I was out of town. I’m back and working on getting back in the game.
My husband retired July 31 so in August we took a 25 day trip to Europe. We saw Rome, Venice, Milan, Switzerland, Munich, Salzburg, Vienna and Amsterdam! We just got home Tuesday afternoon and I’m still jet-lagged (or the reverse, since we are waking up at 4:30 am) and my eating schedule is still a wreck so it’s going to take a few more days to adjust.
I really was expecting a gain, and prepared myself to accept up to a five pound gain, so I’m thrilled to have a loss! Of course we walked a lot, probably 6-8 miles each day except for travel days. But eating was all over the place. And I hadn’t worked out the whole time. My first day back at the gym was today and I did pretty well but my trainer said to expect to be pretty sore for the next week. I can definitely tell I have some tight muscles. I’d love to get a massage this week to work on that.
The past few days we’ve been eating all the food we missed while we were gone so I need to rein that in before it becomes a problem. I did tell my husband I wasn’t going to make a habit of buying all that junk food on a regular basis. Once I get caught up with unpacking, laundry, bills, etc I need to start cooking again.
