Woohoo, @amart4224. Strange how things happen....sometimes in just makes no sense.

You did really well too, @eliezalot. I'm not sure how I would do if I was on vacation and not logging/tracking. But two pounds sounds pretty great!

I'm borrowing half of your template @Dante_80...because I have no idea how far back I would have to scroll to find my last "numbers" post here and I'm tickled with my numbers today so really want to post them.

You have done extremely well…I didn’t realize how close you are to your goal weight….no wonder the pounds have been harder to lose….you will reach your goal or close to it !…..hang in there!

I wasn't so close the past few months! Today I matched my lowest weight in February 168.8 - but I've been bouncing between the mid 170s to mid 180s for the past six months. Clearly the "moderate weight loss" plan doesn't work for me. But the more dramatic high deficit/low calorie plan works amazingly well. And I don't feel bad at all - though I have noticed I'm sleeping a bit more - but I'm not sure which is the chicken which is the egg.

Anyway - other than occasional days where celebrations are happening etc. I'm going to stick to my 1250 calories a day goal until I hit deficit. Then I'll deal apply what I've learned the past bunch of months to maintenance, but from a celebratory point of view.

This slow and "easy" system has just been almost a year of misery. A period of active weight loss, on the other hand, leaves me feeling amazing! It did last year, and it is now, and I hope it will for the next three or so months (and anytime in the future if my weight decides to creep up a bit).

1250 calories a day…..is this with any added exercise calories?….I usually try to eat only 25% to 33% of my exercise calories not going over 1550 to 1600 calories but this hasn’t been working lol…this week very little exercise ( knee ) eating less than 1400 calories, feel satisfied and seem to be losing…lots of fluid retention with sodium and huge knee bruises….

I am sure you look great at 168 but I know you want to lose “ a little bit more”…. What does your doctor say about your weight?

At 70 I am never going to be a bikini clad teen but I am still young enough to want to look good!…my doctor and I talked about my future weight loss this past June…I told him I would like to weigh 199…. Just to have that #1 at the beginning!…we both think it would be really hard for me to get lower than that without skin reduction surgery…he said I might not like my body at 199 but it would be a healthy body!….I love my doctor and he has lost 80 lbs and maintained it using MFP….I am so weird!….my legs are long and so are my arms…I carry a lot of weight in places I can hide it lol….I am not big busted,my butt is almost gone lol and my stomach ain’t bad!….I have a small muffin top easy to conceal and my face doesn’t look like a pumpkin….wide shoulders and pretty big hands and feet!…if my arms and legs were thin I would be good to go!….

I think I have a plan for the next few months….I hope you, PAV and others give me your advice and opinion…first I am really trying to not have another binge the rest of this year because it sets me back a few weeks every time….part of the problem this past few months….I am going to continue swimming because the exercise makes me feel so good and strong…I am thinking to stay at 1 1/2 lbs loss until the first of the year and see how it goes….if I burn calories exercising I am only eating 20% back because MFP gives me too much credit lol…I am also buying some walking sticks to maybe inspire or motivate me to walk when it is cooler…Jan 1 should find me at a good weight IF I can lose 4 or 5 lbs a month…maybe in the 230s….and I stay consistent….I have informed my family the holidays are NOT going to be a free for all this year and they can each choose one kind of cookie for me to bake….Thanksgiving will be less food choices and no double desserts…they all looked at me like I had two heads!

I am so tired of this up and down!

And woo hoo Laurie had a date!….I am sure he enjoyed your company!

@Dante_80 , your progress has been so impressive! You must be feeling on top of the world! 80kgs lost is tremendous!

Here are my figures for the week:

    Start Weight (17th March 2021): 96.0kg - BMI 40.0 (obese cat 3)
    Last week: 77.0kg - BMI 32.0 (obese cat 1)
    This week: 76.6kg - BMI 31.9 (obese cat 1)

There is now 20% less of me than when I started! I've lost 20.2% of my starting bodyweight. Just another 22.5% (21.6kg) to go!

    Garfield is still falling (slowly)

Bella you will be a happy *fat* cat before you even know it! The only issue I foresee is when Garfield becomes normal weight and is no longer a fat cat?

By the way, I did stay at the Days Inn in Revelstoke probably because of some internal Garfield association. I have to admit that while it wasn't bad, I was not impressed for the price! Then again maybe I'm comparing to pre COVID realities!

Out of curiosity, and given it is something many, if not most of us, are concerned with, was there a distinct change between the time where you were maintaining your loss and when you started the incremental regain?

Up 7 pounds since 1 week ago. I know this happens every time I eat close to maintenance (plus 1 day over) but still....how I hate facing the scale.

    Age: 58
    Height: 166cm - 5'9''
    SW: 275.6 lb - 40.7 (Jan 2020)

    CW: 176.2 - 24.9 ΒΜΙ (overweight)
    Variance: +6 lb / +3.5% TBW

OL: 99.4 lb - 14.7 BMI in 618 days (of which weight loss was stalled for 196 days)

I feel ya Laurie. My scale was up 5-lbs from my weekend of poor eating. By the calories, there shouldn’t have been any added weight. Water weight FTW! 😂

Hi all! I'm new to the group and am restarting MFP...wish me luck! Good luck to all of you!

    Height: 5'1" (155 cm)
    SW: 218 lbs (98.8 kg) - BMI 41.2

Ultimate Goal Weight: 145 lbs (65.7 kg)

@aishmartin, welcome! We're practically on the same journey! I'm also 1.55m and my SW back in March was 96.0kg. I'm now hovering around 76kg (currently on a short deficit break because I hit the 6 month anniversary of starting this journey). My ultimate goal is 55-60kg because I'm quite small-framed underneath all my fat! When I get closer to goal I may decide that's too low and settle around 60-65kg instead...I'll play it by ear.

Welcome to Larger Losers. I've only been here a short while but I've been made to feel so welcome, and the folks are lovely, supportive, wise and kind (though all as mad as a box of frogs!).

    Hello, @aishmartin!

I am one of those boxed frogs :)

You made it here (back to MFP) and that is a major step. You can do this.

    Welcome to the frogbox!

That's awesome! Can I friend you? Good on you for losing so much already! I've always had kind of a "sturdy" frame even though I'm so short. I grew up in Southeast Asia and everyone around me always thought I was fat even when I was 110 lbs (49.9 kg) because I wasn't stick-skinny like them. It's a little easier for me here in the States where bigger is "normal" and people aren't going to tell you every day that you're "fat" or "so big" and that you'll die if you don't lose weight quickly (every single day when I lived in Asia - Argh!).

Friend me, everyone, if you're up to having another friend :)

    Hi Frog Box!!! :D;)

8 days of eating maintenance calories and water retention from my run in with a venomous little bug(ger) has led to a gain of 0.4kg. I'm happy with that, even if I do feel a bit like this at the moment due to sting-related oedema.
