Am I on that damn yo-yo again!? I mean I'm happy to be back where I was but frustrating. Probably most frustrating because I know exactly why and what I ate and when, knowing it was going to bump me up but, giving in to it anyways. Then now for several days I've been good - lots of vegetables and stopping when I should. I haven't been logging. Making the time - not even physical time, but mental time, has seemed impossible.

I've just caught up on pages of posts. @YinxFed Congratulations on the walk! I"ve got the Herriot Trail walk in my sights for one of these years - I agree walking in the countryside beats it all.
@ashleycarole86 great photos and it's good to read what a good thing you and Brad have going - a team within the team!
@EvMakesChanges long recovery for shoulder surgery, my sister is going through the same process(she had full shoulder replacement), it's been 6 or 7 weeks now and she's allowed to lift only a pound - she was happy though to get the go ahead to do 10 minutes on the recumbent bike. I wonder if you could talk your chat post - maybe into a text message, but then cut and paste it into the chat here?
@AshenMoon hang in there...may the stress lessen and your rotator cuff heal..
@KellyBgetsfit and @conleywoods - you teachers have my utmost respect, raising your own families and doing your all to help everyone else.
Okay. Just logging in here finally, reading posts and posting a little myself....I'm going to prelog my food tonight before I turn out my light - I KNOW how well that works.2 -
Hey sorry! Going through a lot of stuff right now, high stress and injured rotator cuff I'm at 124 ugh!
Get in touch with @EvMakesChanges - she just had surgery for shoulder/rotator cuff probs and can tell you all about it! Don't worry about a weight fluctuation - they happen, but take care of the stress and injury. Hang in there, kiddo!bowens1973 wrote: »Username: Bowens1973

Guess whose back in the 100's for the first time since his 20's? Thanks for all your encouragement and huge thanks to @ashleycarole86 for being my biggest cheerleader and for creating an environment where it is safe to fail but Wayyyy more fun to win!!!
The drum roll is fabulous! And when the stinger arrives, there you are under 200! I was marvelling at your before and after photos on your news feed - I swear you look younger now than you did 20 years ago. WTG!!@jugar CW 152 PW 154.5

@bowens1973 Fabulous loss!! Congratulations on making it to Onederland!!! You are so consistent. Well done!! Enjoy.
@EvMakesChanges Glad to hear from you and that you are improving little by little.
Drove to my son’s today. Road food and take out. It wasn’t pretty calorie wise, but it’s all logged. 😲 Hoping to go listen to the waves tomorrow. 🌊
Glad we have interest in doing the Pilates. I will go get the link and post it for you to sign up.4 -
Here’s the link for Balance Life Pilates.
5 days, 15 minutes a day. It really is great.

I have been working a lot lately. I really feel blessed to have this job and it's hard to not want to give it my all. I wanted to eat all the foodz this week and was reminded of this quote I read in a fitness article: "When you are 50 lbs away from your ultimate goal weight, you are hungry for maybe 20 mins a day. And when you are 10-20 lbs away from your goal weight, you are hungry for 1-2 hours per day." It is definitely proving true in my case. If my hunger levels don't go down next week, I might switch to eating at maintainance for 2 weeks, we'll see. I haven't been to the gym in a week and it's annoying me. But I am prioritizing sleep over my workouts for now and once I routinely get 7-8 hours of sleep, I will work on going to gym more regularly. 7 hours of sleep and 0 gym sessions is better than 5 hours of sleep plus 3 gym sessions I am assuming.
Congratulations @bowens1973 You are killing it 🥳🎊 And the way you are going, you will be joining him soon in onederland @ashleycarole86 🙌3 -

Not sure how this happened as I still ate way too much and no logging or excersize but I guess it proves small changes do make a difference. Must try to stick to this, if only to maintain...
Have a great weekend5 -
Hey all, I hope everyone is OK and life is treating you well.
I was going to say I've been too busy to come on much but thinking back that's not quite true. I have worked late (very late) some evenings, but I think the main thing is I am stressed and drained and therefore eating everything and avoiding tracking. I have had a cyst on my back for a while, but last Friday it became infected and I'm on antibiotics. These have to be taken on an empty stomach, so my windows for eating are 8-10am, 1-3pm and 6-8pm. I seem to be using this as an excuse to eat anything I want, because I need to 'stay full' and 'energised' until the next window. As a result of the cyst I can't wear a bra for any length of time and I don't enjoy walking bra-less, nevermind running, so I've not done any exercise all week. Add in stress from various sources and my weight is very much not where I want it to be!
After falling asleep on the sofa at 8.30pm yesterday, I went to bed and slept until 10.30am this morning. I think I feel better for it, though ETA it's 12.30 and I am starving because I missed my breakfast slot. Luckily I'd booked today off work as we have the 20 mile walk tomorrow and I wanted to not be rushing around this evening. We're off all next week for our holiday (which is causing me more stress in the planning/prep phase!), and I'm off on the 27th as well.
We're still waiting for confirmation of OH's new job - it should come any day now. I said to him yesterday that whilst life would be easier and less stressful if he didn't get it, I know how much this means to him and I want him to succeed. I'm trying not to let on how stressed I am about it, but he probably knows me too well for that. Once we get confirmation, at least I'll be able to put plans into action.
My father is visiting from abroad too, and wants to quarantine with us. The UK's laws currently require him to quarantine for 10 days from arrival, and he wouldn't be able to leave the house. There is the option of testing on day 5 and if you're negative, you can break quarantine. This is all stressing me out too! Not least because he booked his flight in for the 28th - my first day back at work - and his return flight is a working day too, so now we have to try and juggle that. Plus the government are reviewing travel restrictions today so who knows what the rules will be next.
I'm now 2kg heavier than I was and up to 79.4kg. It's not something I can't recover, but it's also not quite frustrating enough to make me deal with it NOW when there's so much other stuff going on. I think the trick will be drawing a line under it after our holiday, because whilst I don't intend to eat everything in sight, I didn't want to restrict myself on our trip, either. That said, if I go back over 80kg I will be gutted, so I'm probably going to take my scales with me! I will also check in daily for the remainder of the month, even if it's just to say hi.5 -

@ashleycarole86 Thats great! The thing I really love about it is you can see results with only 15 minutes. I used to joke that I was born without core muscles. I joined BL about 3 years ago after a free week. The first 8 months I hardly did a workout, but followed her posts, looked at the meal library etc. Then it was quit or do it. I fairly consistently do 3 workouts a week which are 10-20 minutes long. I can honestly say I’m stronger than I’ve been as an adult and I definitely know I have core muscles now!! 💪🏼 Hope you enjoy it!4 -

Trigger warning: discussions of pet illness and deathI'm honestly surprised it's not more. But I got some devastating news on Wednesday about one of my cats that led to pizza and then probably dehydration from all the crying.
I'm hoping next week will be better. But it feels selfish of me to try to fit in time to workout when my cat has an uncertain amount of time left. The vet said we either put her down now or wait for a catastrophic event and put her down then.
Anyone have any advice on this?2 -

Yeah a loss! This is great and I definitely had to watch the calories because I didn't do a single workout this week. The little cold I caught is nearly gone but I want to be fully recovered before any normal workouts. Maybe light stuff today. I have been very busy lately. Yesterday was a short day at work due to a last minute vet opening for my little doggie who played too hard and had a sore back. X rays were great so just muscle stuff. My work day was watching my computer crash repeatedly every time I open zoom and shopping for every type of sippy cup imaginable. I have a bunch of new 3 year olds all still on bottles and a bunch of mommies desperate to move out of the bottle phase. We will see if we can get them switched over 🤞
The morning has been busy too! Helped my youngest do a virtual LEGO social club early in the day. It was fun and he definitely connected with a little boy from England. Now I have my oldest at the dentist. My mother and law and I will run errands and grocery shop later. I'm supposed to clean house too. It should be quick since I deep cleaned last week but I just don't want to.5 -
Took an hour walk while my husband sat and watched a movie. The second to last one was my joyful moment for today. Standing on the same stage Carlos Santana played on two days ago. Right next to where my son lives. That boat had a boat! 😲

I'm in California for the weekend and don't have access to a scale. I'll need a pass this weekend. Looking forward to finishing the month strong next weekend. 😀3 -
This day sure slipped by in a hurry! It has been fun catching up with you all tonight and seeing all the lovely green on the spreadsheet - good going!
@kellie_erin
I'm sorry to hear about your cat - it is always hard when one of our wonderful animals is unwell. Take care of yourself as well as you can, though - it is not selfish at all. I hope the transition is calm.
@happimess01
I think you are right to take a "maintenance break" if you are too hungry. You have had a long steady loss, so a couple of weeks on hold will certainly not hurt. I'm glad your job is good, and that you are getting the sleep happening. Eat a bit more, and get back to the gym - you'll be feeling great!
@Pearl4686
Good surprise! As you say, the small changes do the job, even if you are not logging and being super careful. Keep it up!
@DD265
That all sounds like quite the chaotic time, complete with annoying cyst, upcoming vacation, crazy dad visit, work stress, and all the things. Exercise helps kill stress, don't forget! And logging food, feeling in control - all that good stuff you know already. You have until Monday before your next weigh-in - hang on and don't let it slide too much!
Last day of week 3 coming up - Saturday people here you are!
@evangsimmons170
@donnasteel1
There are a lot of gaps on the spreadsheet, though - send in those numbers! I hope everyone is back from various vacations and all, but if you need the week off just let me know. Here are the missing weigh-ins up through today:

Happy Saturday everybody! I woke up early today and decided it was a good time to figure out my Apple Watch programs. My daughters and son-in-law bought me an Apple Watch in the late spring and I finally signed up for the three month free exercise component. I did the “aging/beginners” lower body and core sections and feel good that I did it. I just have to remind myself to keep the recovering shoulder from trying to help the other arm!
Now for getting others signed in to use it, too.
Have a great day, y’all!

Happy Saturday!
Sounds great that you got the Apple Watch thing going this morning @EvMakesChanges - be careful of that shoulder and go for it!
Great job @ellz_runs and @Steph1498 - we're looking a bit greener now3 -
@happimess01 You have done such a stellar job and you definitely might benefit from an increase in calories. Better to spend some time staying the same vs starting some feeding frenzy cycles. Your brain will have to get use to the new you. Glad work is going well!
@kellie_erin So sorry about your kitty. I think either option in this situation is okay. Your vet wouldn't have given you both options if they didn't feel it was in kitties best interest. My in laws were in your situation not to long ago and they decided to have every moment they could get with their kitty. What ever you decide, hugs to you!
@EvMakesChanges Hang in there with that shoulder! Remember, you just had surgery on probably the most complex and dynamic joint in the human body. Rotator cuff muscles are small and do big jobs. Keep resting and heal it totally. No reinjury allowed! Rotator cuffs don't generally like 2nd surgeries. Thinking of you!5 -
@bowens1973 Great job and congrats on making it to onederland ! Lots of hard work paying off for sure.
@ashleycarole86 Another great week for you too! Enjoy your final weeks at the lake.
@micki48 love the pictures and sounds like a great day. I'm all signed up for the Balanced Life challenge and ready to start on Monday.2 -
Good job @Steph1498 .. sounds like a great goal for Sept
Nice results for you too @ellz_runs
We have popped out for our last boat ride for the season. Relaxing for a bit and then we will clean it.

@EvMakesChanges fun on the Apple Watch! Glad to hear some movement away from the shoulder felt good.1
-
@ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973
You two are just too adorable - with your little doggy! I'm not so sure about the Jays cap, though...
I ran away from home today for a while - well, really I ran away from the garden and the kitchen. I took a 5 mile walk, delivered a huge apple pie to my son (he worries about not being able to GAIN weight, so I'm helping him out!), and then just watched the moon for a while after doing my civic duty by having dinner made out of garden veg, with a few shrimp thrown in. I'm trying to get the garden completely put to bed by the end of Monday. I'll still have too many apples, but at least the veggies will all be packed away in whatever form for the winter. Phew!
This coming week I'd like to have a couple of discussion questions here in our chat. My question is on how to declare a meal over. What helps make it possible to stop and say, "That was enough. I'm done.". I still find that hard sometimes. I'd love to start a discussion on that. What questions do any of you have? About what would you like to hear the team's thoughts? Let me know, and then we can have some of those this week to keep us going.2 -
