Great job @graceojo999 and fantastic job to the team for a third place finish!
Well, we are coverering a lot of ground on foot. The weather is warm, the fun is abundant. Having a great time... over the moon!

I'm using yesterdays weight as I've shot up overnight, following our meal out. I always get water retention after TGIs - it's tasty, but salty. Not the best choice for the day before weigh in, but it's not often OH suggests we go out on a whim so I was taking full advantage!
The carpet fitter is here and I am excited. That's all for now.6 -

I am so tired of being wishy washy... I thought I was doing really well last week, but then I had a gain. Then my husband asked me about the pickles, and I admit I had been eating alot of them, like 2-3 servings per day... Well it turns out one serving is 33% of your daily sodium, so I have had like 7 straight days of LOTS of sodium, over what I normally eat, so I am going to push my pickles down to one serving every other day....
One day at a time, and today will be a good day !
To all of you traveling this week, I hope you have safe and uneventful travel !
@ashleycarole86 Your transformation pics are awesome, so good ! Enjoy Vegas...
Have a great day !

I finished setting up my new workout room! I am really happy with how it turned out. I love to be in there and did my first workout today. Now the whole family wants the room for themselves!9 -
@conleywoods it is indeed a gorgeous workout room! I can see why everyone wants it1

Thanks @Gidgitgoescrazy !! And yes @conleywoods that room looks so zen! Lovely
6/20 exercise:
21526 steps which included 13 minutes of running at 5.8 mph
10 minutes strength training
My Peloton app has tons of treadmill content, but I don't have a tread at home. The gym only has one stationary bike which I snagged yesterday so I left it for Brad today and did one of the 30 minute walk/run workouts. It was a lot of fun. Best part was that Brad's friend Mike that we're travelling with was in there working out too and afterwards he commented on how I crushed the treadmill workout and I felt proud given that I haven't done any running in quite some time.
Saw the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil tonight and popped out to Fremont Street in the day.. it's quite warm here compared to what I'm used to but we're managing just fine and the step counts are wonderful.6 -
Your room looks great @conleywoods!
It sucks when something we thought was a better alternative has a hidden dark side @Gidgitgoescrazy. Hopefully you'll find something better still.
Sounds like you're having a fab time @ashleycarole86 - between the walking and the treadmill, you should be high on the step challenge leader board!
The carpet was fitted yesterday, but the room still isn't finished. We had to plane the bedroom door, then we got the wardrobes built and the doors are on but not quite right. OH then had to go to work, so there's still the wardrobes to finish and the bed to build. After things didn't go to plan (the theme for my June!) I binged last night. Not as bad as it could've been, and I was aware I was doing it so managed not to go through the full binge cycle. I need to dig deeper into what actually triggered me; I know it was because we didn't finish, but what about that led me to binge etc.
Today I am working, and I intend to go down to the allotment afterwards come hell or high water. I'm telling myself I'll settle for having the wardrobe doors hung properly tonight, but really I want the bed built too, I'm just not sure it'll happen. It's OK to want it, I just need to be more flexible about the outcome!5 -
So yesterday wasn't as good as I hoped.
I started the health insurance at my new job this month, and the health insurance has a program called Scale Back, I have my 1st meeting with the coach tonight, so we shall see how that works, to begin, the app isn't very user friendly, so hopefully she can give me some tips to make it easier.
I am also seeing my dr tomorrow to get all the regular tests and stuff done for my yearly check up, and I am going to talk to him about maybe something that can help me get out of this funk I seem to be in. I hate taking meds, but I just can't get it together.
6 -
@Gidgitgoescrazy I know long-distance hugs from someone you only know online aren't ideal, but I'm sending some anyhow. You are taking some important steps, though - both the Scale Back program with a coach (they better be good, or I'm going to have to give them a stern talking to!), and asking your doc for some help with the long funk. The meds can just help get you to a place where you aren't stopped by the funk but can deal with it and get yourself to a place where you don't need the meds anymore. If that road looks like the right one, giving it a try might help. But hugs in the meantime!!
@DD265 You! Stopping a binge is a monumental move, and you did it. You're taking the time to learn from it and moving on. Fantastic! That is some hard stuff to do right there. Not to mention the huge renovations you have been keeping going - you are certainly right to take some time in the allotment no matter what. Calming activities to balance the aggravating ones - ahhhhhh.
@ashleycarole86 I'm picturing you on the treadmill, the bike, the streets of LV - go go go! Although, I think you are taking all the steps that I am not this week! I'm seriously slacking. Got to get out on the feet more today.
Happy Tuesday!2 -

@Gidgitgoescrazy Taking meds isn't a bad thing. Starting them doesn't mean you'll be on them for life. If they can help now, go for it.4

Tuesday Weigh-In
PW: 260.1
CW: 258.6
Not the number I was hoping for, but a loss is a loss. I have an interview this morning in about 40 minutes. Always get a bit jittery for the hour leading up, but I'll do my best and it will go how it goes!
Temps are climbing back up around Boston and looks like mostly 80s for the weekend - which I do not enjoy. I just want breezy days and highs of 71!
I almost purchased a new bathing suit last night, thinking about spending july 4th with my friend and her family and how body conscious I will be, but before I hit "complete payment", I tried on one of my one-pieces from last year and miraculously, it pretty much fits. (It's an off-the-shoulder thing so I think less tightness/pressure from a torso/stomach perspective). That was a relief and a savings of $40.
Happy Summer Solstice, team! I celebrated by taking my hill walk this morning and doing a sunrise yoga routine.4 -

Such insightful thinking around the binge and sounds like you'll be giving it even more thought. Fingers crossed for getting down to the allotment today!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! @jugar - do you think I can move my weigh-in days to Tuesdays? That's when I have my real appeal meetings so I have to weigh in for that as well.

Last week was another throw away week. Being carted to/from work just throws off all my motivation. Although being carless forced my fiance and I to bike into town to go grocery shopping (which was sort of terrible with 50mph winds in the cold....but we survived). We'll have to go again tonight but at least it should be warmer.
I did manage to finally get my car across the mountains and they diagnosed it with a bad valve body (like I suspected), so that's a $1600 fix...which I guess is better than being told I need a new $8k transmission.
Then yesterday we got this crazy stuff called rain here in MT. I haven't seen it rain this hard since I've been here. It reminded me of home...which would've been nice had my ceiling and basement not started leaking.
Overall June has literally been the WORST month I've experienced in a long time. It's just been one thing after another. If anybody knows that jerk Murphy, please slap him for me.
I'm going to do my best to get back on track, but working out is nearly impossible at home so not being at work for so many days has really thrown everything off kilter. I'm going to try really hard to get back on track this week and start picking up the pieces.5 -
Morning all! Brad had a 1.5 hour course to call in for this morning for work that he couldn't miss, so I popped out to the Dunkin' Donuts (a novelty for this Canadian ) for coffees and breakfast to bring back to the room. I like that calorie counts are more readily available in the U.S. - was able to pick something tasty that was calorie conscious as well. As soon as my coffee is done, I'll pop down for my workout and shortly after we'll be ready for the day! I need to hit the pool too but we've been fairly go go go and I haven't found my opportunity yet.
Today is our friend's 25th wedding anniversary - the reason for the trip! They are doing a vow renewal at an Elvis chapel this afternoon - a limo will come to take us away for that. Happy to be able to celebrate their love.
Today is the hottest day I think I'll see this trip - 38C which I just looked up as 100F. It's much hotter than anything I'm used to but it being dry heat helps it stay manageable. No sunburns yet.. woo hoo!
One other small thought. I've been wearing dresses and shorts! This doesn't sound like a big thing but I haven't ever really been comfortable wearing those types of things. The fact I wore a dress and wasn't self conscious the whole time felt nice. I never felt like my body worked well in them before but it hasn't been a concern this trip.

@ashleycarole86 it actually does sound like a HUGE thing! love that you are feeling good in your clothes!
@MoonlitMuse you can't catch a break this month for sure! Hang in there. July will be better.3 -
Thanks @jugar @ashleycarole86 when you put it like that, I can recognise that stopping the binge cycle is quite an achievement!
@MoonlitMuse I hope things improve soon.
@Kali225 I hope your interview went well - fingers crossed!
@Gidgitgoescrazy if you had a broken leg you'd take painkillers/put it in a cast, and if the meds will help you then they're worth it. I've taken antidepressants before so I may be biased, but there's no shame in it. You may be surprised how quickly they help and how soon you can come off them.
@ashleycarole86 your trip sounds awesome and the confidence is even better!
We're still having issues with the wardrobes, but OH is going to look at them tomorrow as he's on rest days now. We went down to the allotment and my brassicas - broccoli and cauliflower - are in the ground so I feel better. Hopefully they'll succeed; the broccoli have been in the garden for weeks and look a bit eaten, and the cauliflower was reduced at the garden center.
We're at the cinema tomorrow - finally getting to see Jurassic World - and will be having McDonalds for tea I think, so I'm planning a reasonable lunch. I will confess I didn't even attempt to track my calories for today (it's hungry-Tuesday!), but will put my meals in for tomorrow now.4 -

Hi Everyone. I will be joining the team for July (technically rejoining since I participated quite some time ago).
I was successful with losing a good amount of weight with MFP, maintained for nearly a year and then ... COVID!! Living alone was quite a challenge and it ended up being a really tough year and a half or so. Looking to get back into the groove of healthy habits.
I am going on 78. Live in Indiana. My favorite pastime is riding my horse Lucy. I retired my old horse, Annie, in January after a difficult year dealing with injury issues. I thought I was done with horses, but was so depressed, and so bought Lucy in April. I miss Annie, but it is fun getting to know a new horse again. My other source of exercise is my pandemic puppy, Abby (I lost my old dog during the first part of the pandemic. A friend's standard poodle was having puppies, so I took one). She was a very bright light during a very grim period. She is also high energy, so a great motivator to get out an walk!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone.5 -
Welcome back @jan110144 ! I remember you and your horse Annie, and I am glad you are still riding. I am also still riding, but waiting for my new horse Jasper to arrive here either in the fall or next spring. He is just 3 and my daughter is giving him his basic training - but I have had a chance to visit him and ride him a bit. Can't wait for him to arrive here!
Living alone through covid must have been a huge challenge. A standard poodle puppy is a great way to keep your spirits up, and I hope being back here on the team will add to the incentives to keep your health on a good trajectory. Tally ho!3 -

6/21 exercise:
45 minutes exercise bike, 17734 steps
@jugar Good thing goal zone requires a person to weigh outside it two weeks in a row before they go back to regular, because holy heck I'm busy indulging up in here! Don't let the great exercise numbers fool you - the food and drink indulgence is real.
We are having a great time. Our friends did their 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal this afternoon and after some drinks we sent them on their way to celebrate and Brad and I went to Hell's Kitchen for supper... a reservation I was REALLY looking forward to and it did not disappoint.
I'm a big foodie at heart so I'm definitely indulging some passions. I am perhaps a bit disappointed at how little I feel like I care about monitoring my food intake, I'm tracking everything as best I can but it's beyond excessive at this point. It's not bothering me for the most part because I know it's temporary.
Old me woud have indulged to this level without the exercise, so that's positive. I'm sure as I get off the plane the retention is going to be massive... it will be interesting to see how it actually registers. Will be doing everything right when I get home to ensure I get back to my goal zone weight by next week.
I'd like to think that future Ashley who has been maintaining for years may seek more moderation on a trip such as this in the future.6 -
Welcome @jan110144
@ashleycarole86 I suspect old-you would've eaten far more than current-you, and that actually you're eating what would be considered a perfectly reasonable amount for a trip! As you say, it's temporary and you have a plan for getting back to your habits when you get home, which is exactly what a 'normal' person would do.5 -
That's a good point too @DD265
Enjoy Jurassic World!! Hope you have a great day out
Welcome @jan110144 .. looking forward to getting to know you.2
