Today went pretty well. I drank my water, logged all my food and closed my diary a bit under. Hit my 8k step goal. Opened boxes and hung up pictures. It feels better with something on the walls. No walk. It was raining.
This week flew by. Can’t believe it’s almost Friday. My neck and shoulder are hurting me tonight. Not sure what’s up. I sleep on my side too much and it’s getting sore. The neck pain was a new addition. Used heat and it seemed to help.
@jugar I will weigh tomorrow but may wait until Saturday to report and hopefully get a better number.
Falling asleepyy hey. I keep dozing off typing on my phone and it’s typing Ginny things.
@Gidgitgoescrazy Glad you are feeling better.
Good night. 😴🌙💤2 -
Today went well! Finally finished my last work training 🙌 No more work obligations until September. Went shopping for water shoes and sandals for the kids. Amazingly I found everything I needed for all 3 at the first store I tried. I was able to get the grocery shopping checked off the list also. I was much more intentional about getting enough food and protein in early. My diary is looking good and I just have a small plain yogurt, blueberry and granola treat for tonight. I even had enough macros to add the sugar free chocolate chips I like. I was feeling tired after some house work and making dinner. I really wanted to just relax but I made myself work out. It is nice going into my little gym and everything is basically ready to go. Definitely curbs the excuses and I was already wearing workout pants. I have some more house work tomorrow and then my sister and niece come to visit for the weekend. We haven't seen each other much due to my sister going to nursing school and then covid stuff. We are really excited and will spend Saturday at the lake.5

6/22 exercise:
14299 steps + 46 minutes Peloton
We are home! The flight was a tiny bit delayed, but nothing serious. We had a series of small little mishaps at almost every stage throughout the airport process, but nothing major. We had a great trip. Tomorrow we were supposed to leave on a two night canoe adventure but the water levels aren't safe so the trip got cancelled - I am wiped anyway so it's probably for the best. The timing was never good but it was just the way it was... the rescheduled dates likely aren't going to work for us either so unfortunately that's looking to be the end of that.
I feel so puffy, and I have to say that I stepped on the scale for fun tonight (is fun the right word???), and it was like 20 pounds more than when I left. I wish I was kidding.. now I just got off a plane, it's my time of the month, it's at night, I was dressed, etc. etc. etc.... I know it's not real but HOLY CRAP HECK the water retention is something else.
I feel puffy as all heck, to say the least! Anywayyyyyy.... yes I am still weighing in tomorrow and yes I expect it won't be pretty but I have the next week to get my butt on track and hopefully not have to leave the goal zone so quickly after joining it.
I do think it's possible I ate about 7000 calories above maintenance, so I would expect 2 pounds of gain could be real.. it's going to be a fun experiment to see how it comes off over the next week. There is definitely a curiosity to how my body behaves.
We were maybe going to work tomorrow after all since we're not canoeing, but I'm not ready to give up my vacation zen. So for now it looks like we'll likely still take tomorrow off and maybe head up to the lake early.6 -
@conleywoods Congrats on wrapping up all the work obligations until September. That must be a great feeling. Enjoy your visit with your sister and niece.2

@ashleycarole86 I know the puffy feeling well! I can hardly have lost anything on the scales but if the puffiness goes I feel like I've lost a stone. I think sometimes we get so focused on the numbers that we forget how big an impact diet can have on how we feel at any weight.
Last night when we were unpacking the bed part of it was damaged! Long story short, 12-15 weeks for replacement so we took a 20% discount and have managed to sort the worst of it ourselves; now there's just a small scrape in the paintwork. Getting over £100 back so no complaints. However before we'd resolved it, I had a bit of a strop and my mind went "you know what will make you feel better? A takeaway". OH wasn't hungry so I made myself sandwiches. I'm glad I didn't push us into it, and whilst I did overeat a little, it was a little rather than a full on binge.
By the time we'd built the bed (terrible instructions!), it was 10.30pm and the room was full of packaging etc so our first night in there will be tonight. So close. I am definitely finishing work on time today (2 hours to go!) as there are so many things I'd rather be doing lol. Sorting the bedroom, digging at the allotment...
Today is also meal planning/shopping list day, and it's time to do some batch cooking. I'm probably going to do some marinated meats (to go with salad), a curry and I've just spotted a pasta recipe which uses sausages and peppers - right up my street.7 -
Good morning everyone ☺️
I hope you are all well ☺️
Today's weigh in is
216.4 🤭🤣🤣🤣
Happy Friday 🎉5 -
Yesterday was good...
After work, I went to my old, old job. I am going to work on a project for them next week. The girl who replaced me, hadn't reconciled anything in the 15 months she was there, so I need to get them caught up, and figure out what happened and 20 & 21 closed, so the new girl won't have to worry about any of the past stuff, since she is still learning the system. I enjoy this kind of stuff, even the owner told me I would be great as a forensic accountant. I told him that would be a dream, if it didn't require me having to talk to people, or to sell myself and my abilities...
Hubby is home, he stayed an extra day this week, so he could fish... I told him I wanted the kayaks on the truck today, so we can be on the water at 6am tomorrow, it's supposed to be hot and muggy tomorrow, so need to be off the water by 9am, I do not like hot and muggy... We shall earn an afternoon nap, lol.
Maybe I will attempt some yoga this evening, we shall see... I am dong good with food and mood, I don't want to commit to saying it, then be disappointed when I don't do it, so I will try to get it done, maybe even a plank...
Have a great day, and a great weekend...

Happy Friday!
I had a very good weigh-in this morning and will head back to maintenance for July. I am relieved! Those visits with my daughter then my dad went a little too loosey-goosey, and it feels good to get back to normal. My old denim dress is even too loose again.
I am celebrating (without food!) this morning - hit submit on one grant application, hopefully will do the same on the other late this afternoon after a final work session with my collaborator. I do love that submit button, even though it is scary to hit it.5 -
We succumbed to takeout at the new restaurant on the street last night so I have shot up out of my new decade. I have the day off and the weather is gorgeous so I will do my best to sweat it out! Shawarma poutine.... So dangerously delicious!4

@DD265 Hope you got out of work on time and that you're happily puttering around in the allotment. The bed situation sounds frustrating and you did so well avoiding the takeaway when things didn't go as planned. Glad you were able to figure out a solution despite the challenges.
@ells_bellz Great weigh in this week - wow! Good job
@Gidgitgoescrazy Glad the project you've returned for is fun for you. Sounds like your help is badly needed! Enjoy the kayaking tomorrow!
@micki48 Great green week. I have all the faith in you that you will find your groove and keep things moving in the direction you want. Major life changes are hard to manage - you will get back to a routine I'm sure but it's clear you're still working on settling.
6/23 exercise:
10066 steps
We slept in until almost 9 so that made our decision as to whether or not we would work today. I plan to ride the Peloton and we'll get out to the lake earlier than normal. Looking forward to getting back to our routine.

Whew! We are almost at the point of submitting the bigger more complicated grant application. Might not happen today, but we are close. It is not adding to my steps, but it is sure intense!3

Well my weight hasn't budged since we came back from the hotel on Monday. I'm sure it will get back to normal. I have really only been on target for the past 2 days. Just finished up a TRX workout and then went for a short walk with the dogs.
@jugar That sounds intense 😳 Hope you can wrap it up and get back to your usual activities soon. Good luck.
@ashleycarole86 Glad you were able to take the day off and get back to your routine. Hope the puffiness begins to leave and you start feeling like yourself again soon.
@Gidgitgoescrazy Have fun kayaking tomorrow! That's what we will be doing too. We are just finally getting warm so no need to rush off early here!5 -
TGIF.
Good news: I am moving onto the final round of interviews! Likely next week, and made of 3 back-to-back 30 min interviews with 1 manager each. Hope I can hack it. I think I would like this job.
Bad news: the US is being hammered with 3 days straight of a supreme court that is... beyond the pale. not to get political on you all, but this news combined with starting my time of the months has me in the dumps. Definitely wanted to storm down to whole foods and get some cookies to make myself feel better. but it wouldnt actually make me feel better, would it? no. so here I sit. stewing.
I did get a lot of movement in today. I jogged parts of my morning walk, equivalent to 1 mile, did a 20 min yoga 'deep core' video that is an old favorite, and did my first 60 min full body hiit class (via instagram live) in many weeks, due to my foot. I've been icing a lot and I think it feels okay?
@ashleycarole86 can you put me back on the step team for July? daily goal - 8000. here I come!
On second thought, would ice cream help??5 -
Welome @S1ncerelyj3ss1

Welcome @S1ncerelyj3ss ! Tell us a bit about you, your goals, anything you feel comfortable sharing - soon you'll get to know all of us, and we hope this will be a great group for you.
@Kali225 I too am feeling weird about what is happening in the US right now. I remember seeing a doctor for birth control in 1971 when it had only been legal for a short time. The doctor and all the staff were so happy to be able to help women who wanted to explore some freedom and security. If that is a problem for any here, I am sorry. You make your choice, I make mine - I would never prevent anyone from following their choice. And no, one of them is not cookies and ice cream to make it somehow better. Great news about your interviews, though! I hope things fall into place for you
I am looking forward to our new members joining in! Please be sure to let us know if you have questions, or any ideas for how we can help you get started. @S1ncerelyj3ss and @robinhardysmall jump in as soon as you can!3 -

@PlaneMonkey Shawarma poutine sounds like fun for sure. And in the province that has the proper squeaky cheese too!
@jugar Exciting about the grant application. Did you get it submitted?
Welcome @S1ncerelyj3ss
Hope the two kayaking ladies @conleywoods @Gidgitgoescrazy are having a blast today. The weather here was very cold and windy yesterday and Brad and I were both happy we weren't on the water and setting up our tent... this trailer camping has spoiled us
@Kali225 Excited to have you back on the step team! Got you down for July. Hope you managed to avoid the ice cream.1 -
Our team chat for July is open! Please continue to post this week's weigh-ins here, and go to the new thread to (re)introduce yourselves and get set for a new month -

6/24 exercise:
20 minutes strength
46 minutes Peloton
9715 steps
Employed the one perfect day strategy yesterday. Even though I know my SHOCKING (yes, that's an appropriate word) water retention will have to mostly release itself on its own, I'm back on a deficit after my 6 days of excess in an effort to help things along. I will continue on that path until I reach the bottom section of my maintenance range.
The first 2.4 pounds are already gone this morning, so things are headed in the right direction. I was telling Brad it still feels like there's a rock in my stomach... another 8 to go to get back to the top of my range... if it goes at that rate the next few days I'll do it by Thursday. I would like to not have to go back on the regular team so soon but if it has to be then I shall follow in the footsteps of @jugar and get back into the zone as quickly as I can.
Today our trailer friends will be up so we'll have lunch together with them. I also plan to walk our dog, have a video chat with Brad's mom, do some reading, and perhaps some boating if we don't time out.2 -
@ashleycarole86 sounds like you are heading for another perfect day! I have no worries that you will be back in your hard-earned and beautiful goal zone soon3

Well, needless to say a rough week for me. We celebrated father's day last Sunday and we took my father in law out to dinner. Not bad, it was planned, and I stayed within calorie budget. Monday and Tuesday were good days. I was down to 216.4 at the beginning of the week. Then Wednesday was my hubby's birthday and he wanted hibachi and of course cake. Thursday I had leftovers of both. Then Friday, I was good most of the day until I got home. I even went out and bought a sticky bun 😳 It was delicious, but I didn't need it. So here we are today, and my weight is accurately reflecting what I ate.
So, enough eating and especially not tracking. I am back to tracking today. One meal at a time. I read all the posts this week, but didn't post myself at all. The prior few weeks I did great, but consistency is key.7 -
Today we took our son and daughter in law out to lunch. 3rd day on holiday and starting to feel human again - phew!

I wish I knew how to attach pictures! I'm sure it used to be easier!
Oh, I did it - from my laptop!
These are the pictures I wanted to attach earlier!
