Another thread I've been neglecting to post in - that ends today! I've decided I quite like letting Fitbit decide how active I've been. It is hard to tell sometimes - I'm not out "exercising" intentionally and sometimes long walks are slow and full of conversations - sometimes short walks are intense and high on the exercise scale. Fitbit knows all.

The activities of each of the past three days were basically the same:
π ππ fewer hours reassembling/cleaning house and some spent reclaiming my yard that has been ignored for two weeks - and it rained several times - so everything green grew wild with joy. Piano has not moved for 4 days!!!! Back room almost clear - moved out 5 rather large pieces over the weekend (thank goodness for Marketplace) - just a few little things to go. PROGRESS. And when the house is done I will sit down and lose my mind.
πΆπΌββοΈπΆπΌββοΈ two doggie walks2 -
Hey: that sounds fun! No moves for piano!2
-
No roadrunners. No sporties. Boo.1

π ππ fewer hours reassembling house - a few more paintings up removing outlet box and patching a big hole in the wall where old internet cable used to come in (that one is a long story) new legs on new for me cabinet moved stereo (not playable yet because a CD (or two ?) of the 110 it holds got juggled out of place and now there seems to be a jam somewhere last bit of stuff listed on marketplace was picked up (that one brought some tears - The Boy's old easel and desk chair but by the time he is here again he will be too tall for these) and...the new power head for my vacuum arrived - gotta love Dyson! This is a vacuum is basically suffering from old age and heavy use and they honour their warranty (over and over) keeping it going with shiny new parts. Today may involve some vacuuming! PROGRESS.
πΆπΌββοΈπΆπΌββοΈ two doggie walks - one very long one on the rail trail through some brilliantly verdant woods (generous rain this past week!) and a shorter one that included coffee on a friends back deck - a friend who has a very big (for the city) all-grass backyard that the pups treat like a dog park running like crazy furry fools and making us laugh at their antics trying to run up a very tall fence to catch myriad squirrels teasing them from the hydro/phone lines.1 -
I never realized how little "cardio" exercise I get these days. Maybe it is time to (re)introduce a daily dance? Fifteen minutes will be my goal.1
-
I had a short 10-minute walk today. Not great, but at least I'm moving again. I should do a daily dance too. Good idea, Laurie.3

Wednesdays Moves

π a little house reassembling - was tired! - built a desk (a very MCM style so not a lot of carpentry skills required) for The Boy that is going to go on the end of mine in the "office" to ease my pain/guilt of taking down the one he had in the living room. And...figured out how to mount my fancy smancy new monitors (it is an outside wall with lathe and plaster and no studs and I didn't want to go to the lumber store so did some thinking instead) No vacuuming yet PROGRESS.
πΆπΌββοΈπΆπΌββοΈ two (really one and a quarter) doggie walks - one an okay length, one very short around a few blocks - I can blame the rain but it was really the lazies.
No dancing yet - note the 0 cardio minutes2 -
I mowed the lawn yesterday. Nothing today. I'm sore.1
-
I ended up doing a little today. 16 minutes of light dancing. ππΌ3
-
You go, Lori! Glad someone is dancing

π a little more house reassembling - mounted monitors on the wall - woohoo!!! and the best part - some harvest season cooking. So much good food out there - can't pass by the produce. Freezers will be full come the end of the weekend. No vacuuming yet but still - PROGRESS.
πΆπΌββοΈπΆπΌββοΈ one nice rail trail doggie walk and a later, shorter, round the neighbours walk.
NO dancing yet. so much for that great idea.
Friday Moves

π didn't do a thing with the house! much more cooking though - some veggie stews. Today or tomorrow I will make some pasta sauce with beans and kale (and lots of red shepherd peppers because they are $5 a case at the moment!) and them I'm done with the freezer filling cause the freezers will be full. No vacuuming yet but still - PROGRESS.
πΆπΌββοΈπΆπΌββοΈ two reasonable round the city walks.
Again NO dancing yet. so much for that great idea. It is coming though Maybe I should dance while I'm out walking the dogs - I see some others doing some wild and crazy moves out there (but I think they have a little bit of chemical assistance).

π two trips to the grocery story and some more cooking for the freezer - a kale/pepper/tomato and white and black bean pasta sauce to use up the rest of the herbs from the garden. Lucky freezer!
πΆπΌββοΈ only one doggie walk (they were so happy when I got home last night that they didn't notice I was too tired and sore and scared of the dark to take them out.
ππΌππΌππΌ lots of mad dancing!!!! Went with a friend to see Jack De Keyzer at an almost nearby Legion Hall and the band was smoking. Such a cool place - with portraits of the Queen on the wall. Loved it - and could barely walk when it was time to leave. The second song of the encore almost killed me - I gave it all on the first . I know it was full out mad dancing because the drummer came up to me after the show and commented on my energy - and thanked me! because he fed off that energy - what a compliment.
Was smart last night when I got home - ate some clementines for the vitamin C, some collagen supplement and took a couple of anti-inflammatory capsules. Much easier walking today than after my last mad dancing at Stuuperfest. My knees are kinda devoid of cartilage and most of the time it is okay - but I'm a bit heavy at the moment and a couple hours of dancing left them red hot! lol Apparently it is supposed to be the best thing you can do though. Makes your knees make more lubricant. I was a Sargeant Major of the knee lubricant making brigade last night. They seemed to listen2 -
Zero from me today, but I'm tired just from reading Laurie's post.2
-
I was "ON" on Saturday. Left me tired yesterday too...did nothing but cook up some sauce for the freezer.
2 -
I see that I never did comment on the dancing Laurie!
Just Wow, Laurie! Glad you had fun!!! The knee things... yeah. They don't make them like they used to half a century ago1 -
I'm cool with the knees - they are hanging in - they are mine - and I can walk forever it feels like. They are fighters despite my abuse2
-
At 3/4 of a century, my knees are good but the hips not so much. Makes for shorter walks.
Today is gym day but I may skip πΆπΌββοΈποΈββοΈ because Iβm not feeling so great. Got a flu shot and covid booster vaccine yesterday. One in each arm - both muscles sore today along with headache and fatigue. Why does taking care of yourself have to hurt?2 -
Yikes - that's quite the double whammy, Yooly! Seems a good day to rest.0
-
I took my fitbit off to charge yesterday, and forgot to put it back on. So I have no "number"
πΆπΌββοΈπΆπΌββοΈtwo doggie walks + a bit of busy - not enough for a pic though.1 -
is that #4? did you get the "bivalent" moderna--or one of the "regular" ones? I am wondering when/whether to get mine as I was just notified that I can go ahead and schedule it.1
-
Nope this covid shot was #5!
Had 2 boosters and two primary doses previously because Iβm in the high risk old people group. Last one was 6 months ago.
This last shot yesterday was the Moderna bivalent. Son got same but this was #4 for him.
Apparently the effectiveness wanes over six months. Iβm hoping not to get another vaccine until next year - at some point itβs vaccine overload, no?1 -

ππ Woke up at 2:30 am yesterday and kept going. Finally wired up the stereo in its new location - and the speaker - and took the case off the CD player to see if I could get it to stop "checking discs" (success!). Went to Ottawa Street, our street of cool things - antiques/crafts/a billion fabric stores - to buy a big terracotta pot for a plant that has grown a few feet in the past year. No luck on that front but I bought some cream-coloured fake fur to hopefully entice the pups to stay away from my pillows when they make their day nest in my bed! Organized the "tool room" a place of tools, lumber remnants, ladders, seasonal things and a few peices of furniture being saved for that day.
πΆπΌββοΈ πΆπΌββοΈ two okay doggie walks - still feel I owe them.
[ππΌ] no dancing - almost no cardio minutes.2 -
Hey: you owe the pups... NOT the lumber room!
2 -
Yes - they told me that. But. They looked kinda comfy at the end of the day

PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

No exercise for me. I need to get going.3

You will, Lori.

ππ Lots of desk work yesterday - but did clear out my back room - put everything I'm taking to Newfoundland along one wall (I think it will fit in the truck ) Posted some more furniture on Marketplace and vacuumed/swept. That room is supposed to be "empty" except for a ping pong table because it is an eventual tear down. I don't want to get used to having the space and then go into shock when I lose it. But now that my table saw and router have returned home and I've adopted a drill press I guess it will be a work room for the rest of its existence.
πΆπΌββοΈπΆπΌββοΈ two doggie walks.
ππΌ about 6 songs worth of dancing (in three attempts) - wow - it is hard to squeeze that in - but hopefully practice makes perfect?1 -
I am confused because you sound WAY too busy for my limited world.... what's this about a truck? Are you a pickup owner or you're getting a u-haul? What about the dogs when you're heading adventuring. I know I've probably missed it... but WHEN are you heading adventuring?1
-
Reading of your "fun" adventures have inspired this trip
October 30th we are heading east! Will travel there 3 days - stay 8 days - travel home 3 days. This is a delivery/reconnaissance run - rather than a real "visit"
Younger son has a truck - that is what I will drive and hopefully return in its pristine royal blue condition
Will only have my pup then - I'm waiting until the end of October when Reese's dad will return - and she will come with me - I think she can handle the drive. The big teenage boy pup would lose his mind.
2 -
Why not add extra travel time for pup play and meandering... in the cold0
-
I'm afraid of snow on the way home...1
