HOW IT ALL WORKS: The April challenge runs for four weeks, from March 31 - April 27.
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love

My apologies! I'm officially an idiot. Or did not have enough coffee before making the new team chat for April. I left out your fabulous motivator @19shmoo69 !!!!

It is all fixed now. I shall try to remember not to attempt new month postings while insufficiently caffeinated in the future.5 -
Hi MS ..you have another new member joining your team ..Please welcome @reshii_devi

Welcome to Mission Slimpossibles e @reshii_devi ! Please jump right in and introduce yourself!
Hi everyone, I'm Kathy and I'm Mission Slimpossibles Co-Captain with the incredible @trooworld and the awesome @19shmoo69 as our motivator. I live in the Sacramento area with my two cats. I'm 52 and have been in this group since the start of 2019 when our great @TeresaW2024 and @AustinRuadhain ran things and did a wonderful job of making us a strong team. I keep chronic issues in check with diet and exercise and have been dealing with CRPS (severe nerve pain and mobility issues) and spinal issues for a couple decades. I'm currently trying alternative treatments for my CRPS and recovering from my last back surgery trying to get my pain lowered and mobility improved. I do part-time claims filing, volunteer on the board of a local charity, help our local food bank farm, have my own garden, and often have my nose buried in a book. I'm hoping for some fun camping, a beach adventure, or a concert soon!
We're happy all of you are here and hope we can all help each other reach our goals and support each other through our ups and downs.
NOTE ON WEIGH-INS: I try to stay on top of our weigh-ins. If you're on vacation away from a scale or something comes up where you can't weigh in please let me know so you aren't dropped from the spreadsheet. I know it sucks to weigh on bad weeks but honestly it really is a part of all of this and if any group is going to commiserate it's us so I'm asking you to please not skip bad weeks. We are NOT judging you or upset with you if your weight is up it's part of how things go and we want to support and help. Plus it takes me longer to wrap things up here and I want to PLEASE read before bed to unwind!
Let's have a wonderful April!

Hi everyone,
I'm Mica, and I'm in my GOAL ZONE of 127-133 (center weight 130). I'll be 68 years old this month. I work 3 days a week as a bookkeeper in a plastics factory. I live in New Hampshire with my boyfriend Rich and my cat Earl (Earl is my profile picture). My favorite year round exercise is walking outdoors. I have a Walk The Year goal of 2024 miles, and I'm currently on-track with just over 500 miles to date. My favorite seasonal exercise is riding my bicycle outdoors. I haven't had the bike out yet this year; it's either been cold, rainy, or windy. I hope to get started riding this month, and my goal for the year is 1500 miles. I weighed in yesterday on the March Chat, but I'll post it here again.

Still within my goal range. Need to get back to my center weight of 130.
I will be away for a week in April (April 11-18). I will post my weight on the 11th before I leave. We'll be in Colorado Springs. Earl will be staying here, with a cat-sitter.
We are going to Rich's sister's house for Easter dinner. Rich just found his biological half-sister in August. They were both given up for adoption at birth. Finding family has been such a blessing. Rich not only found his half-sister Cathy, but found and met 3 other half-sisters and one half-brother, 3 first cousins, an aunt and an uncle! And we know there are more half-siblings out there, who either we haven't found yet and/or some are apprehensive about meeting him. This year has been WILD! That's our reason for the trip to Colorado - we are going to meet aunt Sharon, who was also given up for adoption at birth and until last July, never knew she had family! We were able to connect Sharon with her brother Lewis. Lewis was sent to a foster-care work-farm when he was 7. He never knew he had a sister in Colorado; all the siblings he knew have already passed away.

Hello! My name is Teresa; I’m a ministry assistant for my small church, caregiver to my much older husband, who has dementia and other health issues, support manager to my crazy family, and dog mom to Maggie Mae, my 8-year-old Cavapoo. Weight loss has been a lifelong struggle. But no matter what, I will never quit striving to reach my goals. No matter how many stumbles I have, I will NEVER stop striving.

Happy Easter! He is risen!! o
Joe's son, daughter-in-law, and 10-year-old granddaughter arrived yesterday evening. They came over for a while to visit. They brought their 5-year-old dog, Oscar, who is a grumpy old man. Maggie and Oscar growled a lot at each other. Ugh!
This morning, we are all going to church. They aren't churchgoers, so I hope they have a wonderful experience. Our new pastor is very excited for today, and I'm praying he will do well. After church, we will have subs at the house and enjoy each other's company. We will find somewhere to go to dinner this evening. The 10-year-old told me she likes steak.
Have a great day! 2 -

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Forgot to do an introduction.
I'm a sahm to three boys 5, 7 and 13. I had a serious heath scare in April of 2022 after surgery in which I got sepsis and four areas of infection. I realized I really wanted to live and decided to start putting in the effort to make changes. I got myself a GP and had a physical which I had not done in my adult life. Finally got a GI doctor concerning my life long stomach issues that I've always had. I started seeing a nurse practitioner that ran a weight loss/ life style program. I also went to PT to work on pelvic floor and shoulder/neck issues.
I'm still a work in progress. But I'm stronger and have more endurance now.4 -

@Katmary71 @trooworld thanks for the welcome!
How wonderful! @micaroo4 It must be so exciting ~ blessings to all of you.
Hi everyone, I'm Reshii ~ widow with one son and grandson, legal admin soon turning 58, currently living on the east coast, planning migration within next 2-3 years. My highest weight was 280 back in 2017 when inability to join friends on a hot air balloon ride (max 250) made me realize just how fat I'd become. Lost 85 pounds and comfortably maintained weight at 195-202 until the pandemic when I regained almost 60 pounds. Began to slowly lose again last year, and have been trying something different every month since January looking for a new magic combination that I love. Still looking!!!
~ and although weight is coming off slower than anticipated, very pleased with inches and fat lost this first quarter and excited to see how far I can progress the next 90 days. "You're never to old too old to set a new goal or to dream a new dream." C.S. Lewis 5 -

Hi friends, Happy Easter! My Dad's spending the night so I'll catch up tomorrow after he leaves. My Mom went on a cruise with her friends and sisters not realizing it was over Easter so I'd asked him to stay after we spent the day at my brother's. Welcome to the new members, we're happy you're here!

Questions:
1. How do you manage your day when you have a special holiday meal to eat?
2. How do you manage your WEEK when you have a special holiday meal to eat?
I don't do well eating little all day- I wind up starving for the big event and that's a recipe for disaster. I've compensated (for most holidays) by trying to keep the menu reasonable.
This week I did not plan menus well for the splurge- I put some things on the menu without thinking about the whole picture. Sometimes I just need to get the weekly menu/shopping done.
Thanks!

Howdy Slim peeps,
I'm Sandy retired CO, I live in Central Texas with my husband John, cat Tigger and dog Diesel. I have 2 grown children Stephen and Brittney, both married and live in the area. 5 grandsons from 12 to 20.
I had a heart attack in 2013 and quit smoking which caused me to gain weight (186). I have lost roughly 15 of it but just can't seem to keep the scale moving in the right direction. Last week I had a visit with my Cardiologist and all was good but my triglycerides which had jumped 117 to 162. I don't see him again for a yr unless something comes up but I have to lose 20 lbs by then. This is doable I just have to put my mind to it.
It is time to say goodbye to all the junk food. This month we are cutting sugar back as much as possible. I am also back to loggin' food in MFP.
Have a Blessed day!5 -

Hi Lisa! On the event day, I always plan to stay within my maintenance calories (1600). If I go above, its rarely more than an additional 400-600. And if I'm feeling guilty about the carbs will try to offset with a workout before bed. The day before (and up to 2 days after) I'll usually eat a little less, try to fast a little longer, and drink much more water. Other than that my weekly routine remains the same.

My name is Jennifer and I’m a 50 year old single empty nester and I share my home with my American Blue rabbit (her name is Kismet). I have 3 children in their 20s – oldest is my son, Marcus (granddaughter Sophie is 11 months), then my daughter Sydney (grandson Oliver is almost 2 months), and my youngest daughter Hunter (grandson Byron is almost 10 months & due with baby girl Brayden on 6/15/24). I love to rubber stamp (I’m a Stampin’ Up demo) and make cards. I'm an active member of my church (Board member), and also love horror movies. I have worked in Community Development at my County for 19 years.
I have always been a yo-yo dieter, but mainly up. When I lose weight, I can never seem to keep it off for longer than a year. Currently I am down 19 pounds and have about 45 pounds to go. I recommitted myself to eating whole, unprocessed foods about 90% of the time. I’m giving myself a little (10%) wiggle room for things like pasta and tortillas. I’ve also been soda-free for 100 days now.

Hey, all! Life is hectic with all the babies! Hopping in with random responses from March!
@19shmoo69 – Mystery Meat. Oh my lawd. And pickle dip? Is it pickled flavored dip? Or a special dip for pickles? Either way, I must know - I love pickles!
@laurelfit57 – Ty is too stinkin’ cute!
@AmbersWay – Fighting those cravings with you! So glad your son is ok. We know cars can be replaced, but people can’t. So glad your heart and sugars are good. Hugs…it seems like the stress never stops.
@Katmary71 – How did your final go? Sounds like a great time at trivia night!
@micaroo4 – I had poutine once in my life. I agree with you!
@trooworld – Share your pickle dip recipe, please! And yeah…that drink with clam and tomato sounds gag-inducing. I have a pile of clothes I need to fold. I have a lot to clean up in my room. I need to just put on a podcast and git’r dun.
@ninyagwa – You made me snort out loud with your “Cilantro in anything, it’s trash…” hahaha! I LOVE cilantro, so I’ll gladly eat yours and @katmary71’s share!
@tammycmcrady6278 – Good luck with the job interviews!
My ankle is giving me more trouble. Now it hurts even worse than after the 3rd surgery and, unbelievably, it hurts in an entirely different spot! I got a brace for it…hoping that helps. Super stoked that my son and his family surprised me with stopping by for a couple hours on their way to my DIL’s parents’. I let my daughters know so they could come over with their babies and I was able to get the most EPIC photo of the 3 cousins in the funny Easter outfits I got them! Is this not hilarious? Proves there are 3 kinds of people in the world – terrified, ready to party, and totally confused!
Anyway, I’m up a pound from last week, but I know exactly where I went wrong. Stopped at the store and was totally craving junk. Bought (and ate in their entirety within a 2 day period) a Daiya New York Style Cheesecake and the Almond breakfast pastry. Then I topped it off with vegan chicky nuggies, onion rings and ranch. Oh yeah. Go big or go home, right? I should’ve taken my A $ $ home. But I can at least say I tracked everything. Anyway, back on the wagon for me!
P.S. I hope all the peeps I sent Easter cards to received them!
2024 Mantra: Yes I can!

Hi! I'm Valeta from NW Indiana. I am a 49 year old housewife. September 2022, I weighed 180 lbs. and started my weight loss journey. Since then, I have loss 45 pounds and I am very close to my goal weight. I plan to reaching maintenance by May 1st. My goal this month is to setup a plan to tone and sculpt my new figure and maintain for life. I have all of you wonderful people to thank for all your support and advice. You gave me the confidence I needed to get to where I am today.
@Cornanda -
I manage my days with small portion sizes. I'll snack on small low calorie foods like an egg or Oiko triple zero yogurt and drink lots of water. I also do a good cardio workout to burn any extra calories I might consume. Then, when it comes to the meal, I have a taste of everything and I can go heavy on the veggies. I don't plan for the week. I plan day by day. I have an open diet. If you want to add me as a friend you can see what I eat.Questions:
1. How do you manage your day when you have a special holiday meal to eat?
2. How do you manage your WEEK when you have a special holiday meal to eat?
@trooworld - Thank you. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend a rainy day. The weather was beautiful here. I was able to get into my garden and get it ready for planting. Which won't be until Memorial Day, but it was nice to spend time in there.
@txcritter69 - Great goal! You can do it!💪 Mission Slimpossible Strong! 💪
