Welcome Back Marilyn, it’s great to see you posting. Thank you for todays post! So sorry about your Vertigo, it isn’t easy as I have had it often since my last surgery so I so feel for you. I will be praying for you much that all Vertigo will be gone in Jesus Name and that you recover quickly from your cold. Love and Hugs my friend! 🙏🤗
Linda, loved the pictures of the mountains, I zoomed in and could see the awesome details on the rock formations. I look forward to the pictures you take with your professional camera, the pictures will be way better than any zooming in I could ever do. Your friends car is awesome, I love old cars, I had a friend, my friends husband who bought old cars and restored them, that’s where my love for old cars came from. Dan is now with the Lord! He had a sudden heart attack during the night about 4 years ago, my dear friend found her husband passed in the early morning hours. So sudden and unexpected, young, in his early 50’s! So glad your oldest daughter and granddaughter will spend July 4th with you and Glenn at the house! Blessings my friend! 🤗
Sandi, thinking of you tonight and so happy I was able to read your posts earlier today when I was here. Thank you for joking us again my friend! 🤗
Susan, as you shared about you having 9 grandchildren and not seeing 3 grandchildren with living so far away. So sorry 😞 my friend! I have 4 grandchildren, 3 girls and 1 boy, my daughter and her hubby were the ones having Logan, the youngest of all the 4 grandkids. My son like me got married young and had children starting in his teens, like me getting married at 17.
You made me chuckle 🤭 as I knew you Colin and the “boys” had been travelling for 9 months, of course they are used to travelling via car, can’t believe I asked that question. Thanks for wishing me a Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦
Have a Blessed Lord’s Day with enjoying your Sunday services and Family time! Lord willing be back in the morning! Good Night All 😴🛌🤗🙏0 -
Judith, it's easy to forget things about each other's lives. Glad I made you chuckle! Yes, not seeing 3 grandsons is a pain point. We hope as they get older they will seek us out once they are able to make their own decisions. We'll see. I have 5 granddaughters and a grandson who I do get to spend time with.
Like this week we have Charley with us. She arrives today!1 -
We had a good church service with several people who were new to us. It is always good to have visitors who are seeking to know about Jesus and how to serve him. After the service we had lunch with our minister and the parents of one of the college students. We are exploring ideas about starting "house churches" in areas near us. They will not be separate churches but will be part of us but meet in smaller groups in houses to meet neighbors that do not want to travel very far. We are just praying about the idea and seeing what interest there is in this. After lunch we had some college students and some adults over for a study that Glenn wrote many years ago about the History and Reliability of the Bible. It goes through the history of the books of the Bible, archeology that proves the Bible and how the cannon was set up. He is in hopes that it will build the faith of the people in the truth of the Bible. This is a series of 8 classes that he teaches in the school but he has made it less in depth than the college course.
Susan - I am glad that Charley is going to come to spend some time with you and Colin. How old is this granddaughter? We are very blessed to have all of our grandchildren living in the Denver area so we can see them when we travel over the mountains. We will be doing less traveling once I have my hip surgery in September.
Judith - You were very young when you got married at 17. Was your husband young also? My friend won a trophy for her antique car. She came in third out of over 70 cars and tractors.
Sandi and Marilyn - I hope you are having a good weekend to relax and gather energy to jump into the busy week starting tomorrow. Weekends seem to short but I do enjoy them!

Evening Hello Everyone,
Linda, you asked if my husband was young also, yes we were same age my husband being older by several months. But we were too young to be married. My parents had to sign for me. I was in the mind frame of all my friends were getting married and I just had to do the same. It was either getting permission with my parents being signing for me or I was going to run away and elope. Dear me, I was rebellious! Mom wanted me to get married in the church and not elope so I basically handed the paper to Mom and said I will get married in Church if you sign. So I got married in the Church. In those days I wasn’t interested in Church. Praise God I came to Him surrendering my life as a young adult. God is mighty, He never give up on us! The House Churches are a great idea, and Glenn teaching on the History of the Bible. One of our Pastors years ago taught on the History of the Scriptures. Excited to hear all about how the classes go and if you get Home Churches started!
Susan, I hear you, my heart goes out to you in the grandchildren you don’t see. It’s a tough one. Both of mine decided to do their own thing after their Mother encouraged them to not come under a Godly Home or instruction. Now that they are adults themselves I hope they make their own decision away from Mom’s influence and come back to their Father and meet me their Grandma! One granddaughter was 2 when Mom took her away and the other was about 10 when she walked out on my son so they really hardly know their Dad or me or their cousins or Auntie. My son met a fine gal and they have been married for few
years and happy. I hope you are reunited with your grandkids soon. So happy you have a good relationship with your others and Charley is with you for a nice visit.
Marilyn and Sandi my thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care!
Will say good night and God Bless! See you in the morning! 😴🙏🤗0 -

Thank you Marilyn, one of my favorite Scripture’s. It’s so good seeing you on here, feeling very lonely here; posted last night and came on this morning to post our New Threads for July. Here now and it’s been you here and me. Think everyone is busy with Grandkids and travelling. In closing I want to wish you a Happy and Blessed Canada Day! Hope your area is sunny and bright like my area is, so lovely today! Take care and God Bless!
Linda and Susan my thoughts and prayers are with you both and your families! Take care! ❤️🙏0 -
Judith - I am sorry that you are feeling lonely with us not being here. Lately, I do get on but I do not seem to be doing it at a certain time. Do not worry, I am still here. LOL I am sad about your estranged grandchildren. I pray that there will be a reunion at some time. You and your husband were very young. I am a little older than Glenn so my parent did not need to sign for me but his Dad had to sign for him because he was not over 21. How long were you married?
We just had a huge downpour with thunder that lasted for about 10 minutes. This weather is so different than last year. We were so dry we could not keep our lawn green and this year we do not need any irrigation some weeks.
I am trying to get used to my new computer. My old one was 9 years old and was very slow. This one is very quick with a touch screen. I am getting used to the size of the keys though. I keep putting my hands on the wrong keys then I have to retype a whole line if I am not watching closely. I am trying to move all my old things from the old computer into this one via the "cloud" but not everything is working as I wish it was. I may need to go back to the store and admit that my older brain does not understand this new computer. They can probably do it in their sleep since their staff are so young, They grew up with computers but alas I grew up with a typewriter and white out to correct my mistakes. My granddaughter will be here on Thursday so I may wait for her to help me.

Good morning. I'm here at my usual daily time. Having Charley here is fun but our routine has to change while she is here! She is 11, almost 12, and loves spending time with us.
Marilyn, that's a beautiful verse. Thank you.
Judith, I doubt we will see our 3 estranged grandsons soon. So sorry to hear of your two who you don't see. I have learned to enjoy the ones who want us in their lives. My, you were young when you married. Thank you for telling us some of your story.
Linda, Glenn's Bible study sounds so good. I hope the house church idea is something that works for you all, though I know you aren't implementing it yet. Your surgery will be here before we know it. ...
Sandi, hope you are having a good day.
I'll be back close to this time tomorrow. Blessings!1 -
Evening Hello Everyone,
Susan, like you I am so happy for the grandchildren who are in my life and leave the 2 granddaughters who are estranged from us all in God’s Hands, I pray for them and their Mother trusting God for their salvation. I know one day there will be a great reunion so until then I so enjoy my 2 grandchildren I am so close to. I helped my daughter and her husband with childcare from newborn all thru their childhood, they stayed with me for a week during summer holidays, came for weekends and overnight stays. Such precious memories. So glad you have Charley with you. And you have such precious memories of all your grandchildren who are in your life. Susan, you are such a sweet loving Grandma, I am sure you bless not only your grandchildren but all who come along your pathway, I know I am thankful to have you in my life.
Linda, you asked about my marriage. One thing for sure I have a lot of good memories but unfortunately due to circumstances when my husband’s Dad died our marriage saw some difficult times. My husband did not handle his death well and it caused a lot of mental stress. We worked thru a lot of it but it did leave a shadow over our lives. But Hallelujah, Praise God my life changed for the better when I surrendered my life back to God. God gave me His Peace, sadly my husband did not want God in his life and was a very angry bitter man over his Dad’s death, he never found peace. I kept showing God’s love and prayed for my husband. All I can hope for is he surrendered all and came to Jesus in the end!
The good thing thru all of this I have Peace and my Son and Daughter do as well. God has restored our lives. There are no regrets; I am so Blessed. God is Good!
Sorry ladies for having a moment of feeling lonely earlier today! I realize we all are in different time zones, I changed the time I was coming on here and I guess at times we were missing each other. So all good. I am so thankful for your love support
and valued friendship!
Have a Blessed Evening and Week ahead! 🙏🤗0 -
Afternoon everyone - it is a nice day in my part of the world.
Am pretty much over the horrid cold I had ( difficult breathing was a new one for me) but now I am left with vertigo and 2 sores on my tailbone - seeing the doctor tomorrow about all of this.
Today I went to my TOPS meeting - down 5 pounds - was best loser of the week which felt good
Am starting as of July to read through the New Testament. Have read Chapter 1 of Matthew and today will do Chapter two.
1 -
Got weighed today at TOPS = down 5 pounds (232) and goal for July is to be down into 220's which can be done and will be done
1 -
Marilyn - great weight loss. I am so glad to hear that your cold is better and you have a doctor's appointment about your vertigo and ulcers. I pray that both of these resolve soon. It sounds like you have had a miserable last month. I pray this new month will be much better for you.
Judith - I am so sorry that your husband did not want to follow God during your marriage. You are right that we do not know what happened in his mind regarding his relationship with God before he went to meet Him. God is mercyful and loving to all of us. He knows our hearts better than we do.
Susan - you do sound like a wonderful grandmother! I have a 12 year old grandson and this is a fun age. He is learning so much and had high hopes for his future. Being home schooled has helped his curiosity.
We are having one of the young guys from church come over tonight to work on our TV wires. We have so many hanging off the TV on the wall onto the fireplace mantle. He is going to put them all in a sheath that covers all of them and it looks neater for when we have classes in our living room. It is something I have wanted to happen for a long time!1 -
It’s nice to see Spark friends on here!
My daughter lives in Colorado Springs. They love it there but it’s so far from Florida. I’ve flown out there several times since they have lived there but it’s so expensive to fly and too far to drive! We talk a lot but that’s not the same.
We don’t have any plans for the 4th so far. How about everyone else?1 -
Sandi, we have no plans for the 4th as Australia doesn't celebrate. We celebrate Australia Day on Jan 26th though. It's also winter here now, the exact opposite of northern hemisphere seasons! Enjoy your summer and July 4th. I was on SparkPeople as Urbanlotus.
Linda, Charley is homeschooled too. She is pretty shy, but she has opinions, which I think is great. She's a very sweet young lady too. We have a good time together. Her parents have brought her up in the Lord.
Marilyn, congratulations on your weight loss! I am so glad you are over the cold you had. I hope the Vertigo and sores go away also. You still sound determined to reach your goals! I'm cheering you on. It's great to be reading the New Testament also.
Judith, I was sad to hear about your husband's and family's troubles. I too hope he reached out to the Lord in the end. I am so happy to hear the rest of your family are faithful. That must be such a comfort to you. The Lord has blessed you all. I'm thankful to have you in my life too. Hugs!

Marilyn, congrats on your weight loss. You are doing great! So sorry about the ulcers and vertigo, I hope your Doctor can prescribe the correct medication to help with the vertigo, I was on a med called antivert. So glad your cold is better. You have had a difficult month. It’s so good seeing you back posting and sharing. Thank you so much for sharing Psalm 55:22.
Linda, thank you for your kindness, it’s great you are having one of the young men come over to help you with all the TV wires that are hanging down everywhere, putyy to ing them in a sheath will be so nice, it will tidy up the area and free the corners where the wires were hanging. It will be safer for you too. So nice to hear that you and Susan have 12 year old grandkids. I have a 12 year old nephew Adam, this is my very close friend who is like a sister to me and Adam looks to me as Auntie, he asks me to pray for him. I am thankful he is in my life, he blesses me and he is eager to grow in the Lord, he asks questions and sits intently as I share with him the truths of God’s Word.
Susan, thank you for your kindness regarding my husband, I have left it with Jesus and believe I will be reunited with him in Heaven. And yes I thank God for a Family who are faithful. I keep my daughter in much prayer as she draws closer to Jesus. What is so special is when we gather for special holidays and dinners they ask me to pray, we sit around the table holding hands as we pray. I thank God for a close knit family! A family filled with God’s Love! God is Good! You were sharing you celebrate Australia Day. Perhaps you could share some of the history and how you celebrate the special day!
Sandi, it is so nice that God has brought us all back together here on MFP: We all were good friends on Spark and now we get to stay friends and encourage each other on our healthy journey and to grow closer in the Lord together. Sorry your daughter lives so far away from Florida. You are right, phone calls texting is not the same as visiting in person. What part of Florida do you live in. Several years ago I lived in Daytona Beach Florida. I also lived in Lafayette Louisiana, lived between those two States for a year then moved back to Canada. I have family in Buffalo New York, Toledo Ohio, Miami and Boston that is where my Brother, Chris lives with his wife and family!
Tomorrow I will be back here later in evening as I am back to the Cancer Clinic in the morning.
Will say Good Night God Bless 😴🙏🤗

Marilyn - great truth in you post. Only God's word can give us hope, comfort, wisdom and change our lives. As old as it is, it is still relevant to our situations. We are never too old to learn something from God. I also pray that you will recieve some relief from your vertigo and your ulcers. Loosing weight and getting more mobile will help with this so keep up the good work.
Susan - We keep finding new things that we hae in common. Both of our daughters homeschool their children. Did you do any homeschooling of your children? My oldest was in 6th grade when I had to stop doing it and go back to work for financial reasons. I really enjoyed doing it.
Judith - If your husband came to have a relationship with Jesus before this death, you will be seeing a different husband in heaven. He will have gotten rid of his anger and bitterness and will be praising God with you. That will be a wonderful day for all of us.
Sandi - We have good friends in Colorado Springs. I have only visited there a few times but it was a beautiful city. My name on Spark was MDScoord. What was your name?
Our TV cords are nicely arranged but the sheath is white agains our blue wall. We will be painting it to blend in more. Our minister is coming in a little while to interview Glenn and I. He is starting this to help build unity with all the members. He will be interviewing a new person/couple each week to hear their background, interesteresting facts about their life, what our goals and plans are so we can get to know each other better. Athough we may talk with each other, it will be interesting to hear details that we do not normally share in regular converstion.1 -
Linda, it's great to find things in common. I didn't homeschool as I raised my daughter on my own for her first 10 years. I needed to work, unfortunately, as her Dad left us, but I did take great interest in her homework. I also sent her to a Christian school. The boys were 8 and 12 when I became their step mum and were already in school so I didn't home school them either. They attended Christian school also. I did teach the youngest boy to read and pronounce a lot of words he was having trouble with. If things were different, I might have home schooled. I already had teaching qualifications before becoming a parent.
Judith, Australia Day is supposed to be the day we celebrate being Australian. I found a page online you might like to read:
https://www.news.com.au/national/the-real-significance-of-australia-day/news-story/9f6446f9021c575bba1a2b733f2c0b80?utm_source=SEM&utm_medium=PPC_SEM&utm_campaign{campaign}&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7ZO0BhDYARIsAFttkCj5JWO1q-4qA6OlqV0KT7nMNkLOyGyaxt36YDQdjacoliR0aDWFkaQaAszyEALw_wcB
If we celebrate, we mainly have picnics or barbecues. Green and gold are Australia's international sports colours and people sometimes decorate with those colours or with Australian flags, but mostly it is a very low key day. Many Indigenous folks don't like celebrating Australia day calling it Invasion Day instead. Technically, Jan 26th wasn't first contact day, but I guess Australia Day is something that stirs up bad feelings for them. It has become a controversial day so people often keep their celebrating quiet. We live in strange, divisive times.
Marilyn, thank you for the scripture today.
Sandi, hope all is well.

Evening Hello Ladies
Thank you for sharing Linda,
Linda it’s great to meet and share with the Pastor, glad he is meeting up with all the other Leaders! Amen I trust God I will meet Tom in Glory and see a brand new man to God’s Glory!
Susan, thanks for sharing about Australia Day! And thanks for the link. Question: why do the Indigenous people consider it an invasion? Sorry not up on Australia’s History. I have studied a lot of countries but sadly I didn’t get to your great land. My apologies! 😕 You said about celebrating with picnics and barbecues, that what we do getting together with family and ending our day with a fireworks 🎇 display!
I am not staying on long as my treatment today caused a lot of pain. Will update you tomorrow.
Marilyn, the Scripture so ministered to me, just what I needed. Thank you…
Sandi, hope all is well
So it’s Good Night God Bless 😴🙏🤗0 -
My name on Spark was Goozlebear. That was a nickname that we called our yellow lab.
It is really nice to be able to reconnect here on MFP with Spark friends. I made some really good friends on there. Some are on Facebook now and some here.
Judith, I live in Tallahassee which is almost to the Georgia state line. However I have lived in several different places in Florida over the years. Praying you feel better. Prayers for you🙏🙏
My daughter homeschooled my two grandsons. The youngest is going to college there in CS.
Marilyn, I love that scripture, thank you for sharing.0 -

Sandi, nice to see you. I don't think we met on Spark, but it's good to know we were there together. Happy 4th of Nuly to you and Linda.
Judith, so sorry about the painful treatment you just had. Praying for you. Oh my, Australian history is a big topic. The English brought convicts here and treated Australia as a penal colony. They didn't make treaties with the Indigenous folk, treating them as a higher form of fauna instead of as people. They were therefore not treated as a conquered population who were given the rights given to north American conquered people. They were not included in Australia's consituation. They still aren't. They were not given the right to vote till 1967. Their children were stolen and given to white families to be assimilated into white culture. Their cultures and languages were ignored. Many were killed/masacered or rounded up and shipped off to islands along the coasts where they were forced to live according to missionary rules. Men, women and children were housed in separate dormitories with no access to freedoms like the right to handle their own money, work in society, have their own families and so much more. (I get a bit heated about this history). There is still a lot of racism here today, and loads of social problems in indigenous communities....that should give you some idea about why they name it Invasion day. It's an appalling history.

There is a lot of noise around our house today. There was a wedding just down the street that has loud music and people are shooting off their own fireworks. The people that live in the house down the street just moved in a few weeks ago so we have not met them but they have several big motorcycles. They invited several of their motorcycle friends to the wedding and they let the neighborhood know they were here with their loud roars. I am glad we do not have this much noise on a regular basis!
Our daughter is about 5 minutes from our home so I will be short writing here. She came over from Denver to help me get ready for our second trip to our mountain property. She and I are so alike it is fun to have here around because we think alike. She is a counselor also so I get free therapy when I see her. She is the one who is renting our Denver house. I'll be back tomorrow.0 -
Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸 to all my American Friends! My brother lives in Boston!
Sandi, Thank you for sharing your Spark Name, I remember the name now. Couldn’t remember where you lived, thanks for telling me about Tallahassee being almost to the Georgia State Line.
It’s wonderful that your daughter homeschooled your grandkids. Thank you for your prayers.
I will post an update from my appointment I had on Wednesday. On the 18th I am at the Surgeon follow up for further procedures. Will keep you posted.
Marilyn, Linda and Susan, thinking of you ladies. Take care and God Bless! See you tomorrow! 😊0 -

Marilyn - yes miracles happen every day but we need to be looking for them. There are so many things to be grateful for!
Today it is much quieter than yesterday. My daughter got here safely with my granddaughter and granddog. The granddog was so scared with all the noises. I felt so sorry for her. It seemed that there were more fireworks this year than it was in past year but she is a very sensitive dog when it comes to noises. She was born during Covid and was not accustomed to being around lots of people or busyness.
Today I went to Urgent Care for ear pain. It started after I was at the mountains and want to have it checked before we go to the mountains again.1 -
I just got back from Urgent care. I did not intend to post what I had said earlier but to put the chat in draft so I could come back to update on the same message. Well, anyway, I do not have an inner ear infection. it has to do with my TMJ muscle being tense. She told me to put ice on it and put my arthritis pain medication the doctor prescribed for my arthritis pain. If that does not work, I will need to go to a specialist who works on TMJ problems. I hope it does not come to that. She said it was caused by overworking the muscle. I did chew gum while I was at the cabin but I did not think I had worked it that hard. I will not be chewing gum for a while now.1
-
Karen, glad you don't have an ear infection but sorry for the pain you are experiencing. I hope the medication helps. Wow, who would have thought chewing gum could cause that. 🤔 I don't blame you for taking a break from it. Your daughter sounds wonderful. Glad she could help you.
Marilyn, so glad for the Lord's miracles and timing.
Judith, will go to the Prayer request thread to see what is happening. I hope you rest today. Praying for you.
Cin had a Telehealth appointment as he has a chest infection and was prescribed antibiotics. He is taking it easy. We were supposed to take Charley home yesterday but her Dad came and got her instead so we didn't have to drive. It's sure quiet without her. I am tired too so today we're having a very quiet day.1 -
Marilyn, Amen for your quote on Miracles, God is Good and I believe we all can agree we have experienced Miracle in our lives over the years. Thank you for sharing, good to remember, we serve a Miracle giving God!
Linda, so sorry about your TMJ pain, I hope the med and rest helps and using ice, for my TMJ I have used both heat and cold! Glad you daughter arrived safely along with your granddaughter and grand-dog! It’s sad when you see dogs react to the noise of the fireworks and other noise, I can understand she would be more frightened with being born during Covid and not being around the noise and busyness of everyday life. Hope as she gets older your grand-dog will settle better.
Susan, so sorry that Colin has a chest infection. Hope the antibiotics help. Glad you son came to get Charley so you didn’t have to drive her home, especially with Colin not feeling up to par.and yes, your place would be quiet after your dear granddaughter leaving for home. I didn’t put update on the Prayer request Thread as I was trying to be quiet with our heat that has come upon us. I will try to put out an update over the weekend.
Sandi thinking of you! Hope to see you back soon, you are missed.
Blessings all, it’s Good Night 😴 for me! Be back tomorrow! 🤗🙏0 -
We were over at some friend’s house for a cookout on the 4th and they had fireworks but they were just pretty ones and not to loud. Once we got home though we had some neighbors who like those loud ones that sounds like bombs. My dogs were always so afraid of that loud noise. I feel bad for the animals and veterans on the 4th.
Stay cool everyone, it is sure hot here!1
