This week's reflection: I've been really focused this week on water, logging, sleep and getting some steps in... seems like it is paying off.3 -

@ganival 1gr/lb would be a lot of protein
A weight loss and metabolic doctor I saw set mine at 120-188g
Thatβs .5-.8 gr/lb his preference is to keep it close to .8 gr / lb when you have a lot of weight to lose or are trying to build muscle.
I also canβt stand cottage cheese. I eat a lot of Greek yogurt, eggs, cheese and chicken. When I donβt have enough protein I make a protein shake using protein powder, water and frozen mixed fruit.
I struggle to get 100 g most days, but I do find on the days I try hard that I have no interest in snacking or snacky carbs. Protein really curbs my hunger. I also do yogurt and eggs, and a protein shake when I remember. Is there a brand you like

someone above asked what we'd like to get out of the group and for me it's primarily health, fitness, nutrition, weight - talk, tips, struggles, wins, support, etc... i find alot of the posts are social, vacations, life events, and when there isn't that connection to "shape shifting" I will scroll past, but sometimes i also feel like i'm interrupting a social conversation with health/weight talk so I keep my updates to weigh in day. i understand completely why some are in need of social connection, but it's not the main reason i'm here. sometimes i will go over to the weekly challenge thread or even the main MFP forums for more focused reading.
i like the idea someone mentioned of having thought topics/questions around health and i will like to engage.3 -
Well I officially have lost 5lbs in 3 weeks due to my new workout program using only body weight and flushing out inflammation- I wore a skirt today to church that I haven't been able to fit in for over 3 years
I'm pretty proud I was able to finally get going again it's been very hard & frustrating to not be able to lose weight just the same 2lbs on & off

@ganival Iβm using the LeanFit from Costco. Itβs honestly not the best tasting but itβs ok and the price is right.
I find when I do frozen berries I can taste it less. Oddly as well if I use a blender instead of a shaker cup it tastes better in milk.
Iβve also been using it to make protein ice cream for my Ninja Creami2 -

Hi it says you need to complete 30 min of running , 30 min of strength & 30 min of stretching for the next term
I'm unable to run - my knees can't take it and just doing a yoga program without weights - would I still be able to join?1 -

The program is 5 days a week for 20 min/day, but I don't keep to that - I also go to my yoga studio 2x/week along with rest days so I follow what is to be done on the day I left off - not overtraining my body which seems to be responding3 -

I stopped counting calories and controlling what I eat. I lost my motivation when I stopped losing weight. I feel like I never lose weight I just lose some water and then it stops. Every time I try to lose weight I lose around 2 kg (4.4 lbs) easily in a few weeks and then it stops. I really donβt know what to do. I weighed everything I ate, did calorie deficit by 500-600 a day. It is frustrating. So I stop at some point. I have 30 kg (66 lbs) to lose and itβs hard to be consistent.5 -
@lolakinks Don't give up, just keep going. Some bodies take longer to start dropping the weight. You can also try to add a small amount of extra momevent, even if it is just a 5 minute walk. See if that helps. I understand if is very frustrating, but throwing in the towel is not getting you anywhere either. Give it some more time.5

@lolakinks - I read a post from someone yesterday who was just starting out on MFP and said she was only seeing up and down movement. Two experienced people - who had sustained major weight loss of about 100 pounds each - encouraged her to focus on 5-10 pound goals. One person said that it takes 4-6 weeks to start seeing a pattern. Itβs frustrating but slower loss is more likely to be sustained and may reduce stretch marks and loose skin. So, I like to think about the process as a new way of eating and moving instead of a temporary βweight lossβ diet. Itβs certainly not easy and thatβs why weβre here to support one anotherβ Wishing you the best!4

Good morning Shape Shifters!
I have been on the struggle bus for the last few weeks but have decided to get off at the next stop. My goals for August are to make my steps everyday, meet my water intake, stay withing my calorie goal, and stay under 100g carbs every day. One day down!! LOL

@lolakinks I agree with what the others have said. I recommend poking around in some of the other forums and reading what some of the long time MFP users post. I particularly like AnnPT77. She is in her late 60's, has lost a considerable amount of weight and has kept if off for several years. She responds with excellent advice almost daily to people making posts similar to yours.
Following on what @Pupowl said about increasing your activity. Here is the link to a thread started by Ann with tons of ideas on how to increase your daily activity without doing formal exercise. Even small amount of calories burned add up.
