Good morning Slims
I had a very productive day yesterday. I'm on vacation next week, so I've still got a lot of work to finish by the end of the day on Thursday. If no one adds something new to my workload between now and then, I might just get it all done.
It's raining here today, and cool. Today is my day off. I heard the rain on the roof, and I slept in a bit. Probably indoor workouts today. I will still go outside walking, and try to make my steps.

@TeresaW2024 Yes! When I printed it out, the ingredients list was one full page and the instructions were two pages! I rarely make this complicated of a recipe but I saw this video on YouTube and had to try it. I probably won't make it again unless for a very special occasion, although it was DELICIOUS! A 10/10 for sure. LOL I love a good sandwich! I hope it doesn't rain too badly. Poor Maggie, I hope the vet cleared her to be more active. Does she still play with toys?
@vegan4lyfe2012 It's doing pretty good as long as I take my medicine. I forgot one night and my knee was bothering me a little the next day. I should have put some music on when making that recipe but you know what? I don't even think I had an audiobook on! I usually cook with at least an audiobook. Oh wait, I called a friend and we walked for the first 20 mins of cooking. So, I did entertain myself somehow lol. It is NOT possible to gain 8.4 lbs in a week, something is definitely up! What's up with your motivation? Are you depressed right now? Amelia Kay is a beautiful name and congrats again! I love ripe peaches.

TUESDAY DISCUSSION QUESTION: What is something you do well in relation to your health journey? For me, I do well with a couple of things: I meal plan and pretty much stick to that plan. I also do pretty well with tracking, not perfect but pretty well.

Congrats to all the losers for July! Well done each one of y'all deserve a pat on the back.
I am sorry that I am quiet but just real busy lately in the morning. We are now in the hell month here in Tx. so the only time I have to be outside is in the morning. We always pick the hottest month to do outdoor projects and this time John decided to extend the patio so the hot tub would be out of the grass. As you can see in the first pic it is sitting just of the patio.
We are heading back out this morning to pick up more flat rocks so I have to cut this short.
Will catch up later with everyone.

Whew! I thought I had emotional eating under control. Nope! I dint! 1000 calories over. I'm not going to beat myself up over it. It tasted good. Now to sip on electrolyte water.
I hope it’s ok if I post. I’m not currently on the team and can’t rejoin until September as I decided not to weigh in for the summer hoping to see a nice loss at the end.

Things that I need to improve: strength training, yoga, and cardio workouts with a higher heart rate. Need to add more vegetables and reduce sodium.

Sorry I havent been so active. I had ben dealing with sickness and just not myself. Finally found out what was making me sick. They found I had fallopian tube infection. Healing from that. Gained back a couple lbs due to just not having any energy to really worry about what I eat. Back to the game now and still going strong.6 -

Hi I'm Kathryn, Kat for short, I have 6 Cats and 1 Husband to take care of it's a full-time job. We've been married 35 years. All of our Cats are Rescue Cats, they adopted us. I like to play an on-line game and have been playing the same game for 16 years. It helps to distract me if I'm in a lot of pain. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis to manage, it can be challenging at times.
Can you say HOT! My Car said it was 112 the other day when I went to the pharmacy. Ugh I'm getting dental work done Saturday morning and I'm anxious about it, they said they are going to extract a tooth on the top that I'm not using since they extracted the lower one last year. I'll pick up some soup and can mushrooms on Friday which is my Market Day this week since I will be busy Saturday morning.
Congrats to the team for making it on the leaderboard I'm so proud of you!♥6 -

Hi team sorry for not posting much the last few days, I thought I was going to get everything caught up today but aside of answering here I didn't get much done. We're having a big issue with the charity that seems like it came out of nowhere today but has been building up, I'm trying to give it 24 hours to iron out but my first thought was to resign. Trying to fit in a bath before bed so I'll catch you all tomorrow, have a great Wednesday!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I had a gain like that and it seemed to be sodium related (water weigh) I drank a bunch of water and kept on plan and it came off. Aww another sweet grand baby, congratulations.
@micaroo4 sorry about your fair experience. I tell you, if I feel unwell I power through for the others or go take a seat and people watch while they enjoy the sites. Hopefully your next ones will be fun.

Sorry for the short catch up. It’s been busy here. I have been down with one thing or another most of the summer. Finally think I am about back to normal. Afraid to jinx it with a good thought. 😂
We’re back in the mountains again. I am not doing well with steps, honestly trying to relax with no plans. I have been great on calories. Grilled foods, mostly veggies.
The big kids are leaving in a few a couple days to go back and prep for uni classes to start again. It will be too quiet without them. Thankfully I have my lil sidekick who will get all the attention. She’s going to her sophmore year, so we’ll be school shopping all week. Pray for me and my bank. 🤪

Hi all. I am always pretty productive at work but yesterday, I was really productive all day lol. It felt good and the day went by quicker. I had the worst leg cramps in my calf last night. I slept horribly because it kept happening over and over. I hope it doesn't happen tonight.

TUESDAY DISCUSSION QUESTION: What is something you do well in relation to your health journey?
I have not given up on this journey. I continue to search for what is going to help me get to goal weight.
The last week or so has been a bit rough. I already blew my WI loss, which is my food choices once again. So I will get back to logging which I guess may have helped, we will see. Going to continue to take this day by day.
Diesel and I are still working on his training which is going well. This past week we have been working on his place, heel and auto sit along with reconditioning his barking when someone knocks at the door. We still have a problem with him when it comes to resource guarding. He does not like it when anyone touches me. We have an appt tomorrow morning with his trainer here at the house.
Today's goal will be to stay in a calorie deficit, drink my water and get my steps in.

@trooworld, that pasta dish looked fantastic, and I’m glad it tasted so good that your efforts weren’t wasted. A special occasion kinda of dish. No, the vet didn’t clear Maggie to do anything more than what she has been doing. He wants her to do the least possible and wasn’t on board with my taking her to the groomer. So I guess we are stuck with sponge baths and bad haircuts for another 6 weeks. She loves her toys, and it’s hard not to throw them away for her, but we are good dog parents. Ugh!
@txcritter69 I’m hot just reading your post! The patio will be so nice once summer is over, and I’m jealous that I don’t have a hot tub.
@littlebabekitty I’m sorry your not feeling well. I hope you will heal up soon and resume your normal activities.
@FushiaKat Yes, it’s HOT!! I joined a group on Facebook called I Hate Summer. They are my people! I hope all goes well with the dental work. Joe and I have our normal cleanings next week, which I never look forward to, but they have to be done.

Good morning! There's not much going on other than a leadership meeting tonight. I will go up early to do my church work. Yesterday, I listened to a podcast on tracking that so resonated with me! I won’t go into all his reasonings because this group is all about tracking, but he talked about starting a streak, like my no snacking, and if on day 9 I have a cookie, I feel like a failure and will often stop the streak because I broke it. This is true for me! He says we should only worry about today. What can I do today to further my health journey? Then, the goal is to try to do that again. So, I deleted every tracker, spreadsheet, and calendar I’ve collected and created over the years. I’ve been liberated!!
Question: What is something you do well in relation to your health journey?
I’ve been fairly consistent with my exercise for a long time and try to work out at least 4 to 5 days a week. Now, I’m working on cutting out all snacking and junk food, which is getting easier by making sure I eat enough at my meals and planning meals that are more healthy than not.

Drink water, I almost always drink water no matter what.
Hi, I started a post yesterday, but I had to erase it. Lol... I'm really bothered because my hair seems to be thinning on the top of my head. It has me freaking out because my hair has always been super thin, I can't afford to be losing it. Smh... I know, definitely not MFP related, lol... it's definitely bothering me. 😒
I have been really trying lately, now I have to stay out of my own head and keep it going. Usually, when I talk about things I wind up turning around and screwing it up.
I had a scary experience while out walking yesterday. I was about 2/3 away from being done with my walk. My sister called, so I sat on the curb and let Chipper rest in the grass behind me. I was talking to my sister when this guy drove next to me and told me to come to his house, he's giving away a leather couch, twice. I told him, I don't need a couch. I got up and started walking towards home and told my sister where I was and to call 911if she heard anything strange. He drove by me two more times. When I turned the corner to walk at up the hill. My hill is a very busy road. He finally drove away. I was pretty scared. Ironically, I forgot my mace and stuff that I usually carry. My sister stayed on the phone with me until I made it home.6 -

Originally I decided to stop tracking my weight for a while because I was following a keto diet, exercising almost daily and the scale didn’t budge which was very discouraging. I started seeing some NSVs recently so hopefully my body has realized the current lifestyle changes are here to stay.
My last weigh in (June 24th) was 201.6

@AmbersWay It went into The Twilight Zone with my weight post the other night, that was so weird I saw it post and it vanished! Thank you, I hope we work things out with the charity too. Good luck with the school shopping and getting everyone ready to return to school!

TUESDAY QUESTION: What is something you do well in relation to your health journey? I'm good at staying in routine, exercising, and eating decent to maintain.
@txcritter69 I hope things go well with the trainer and Diesel tomorrow, is he doing better with resource guarding than before he went away for training? That's one serious project I liked the photo of all the animals supervising John working!
@TeresaW2024 I'm sorry to hear Maggie wasn't cleared, is she doing better with using her leg? I like that focusing on today and what you can do to further your health journey. The practitioner I work with/for says before you put something in your mouth to think if it's helping or hurting your health. When the CRPS group met and her other CRPS client was there with me I told her it may hurt us but boy is it making me temporarily happy! Wow that's awesome you got rid of all the tracking stuff!
@DrewsAnna Yikes how frightening about the guy trying to get you to come over! I'm so glad he saw you were on the phone with your sister, definitely take your mace next time just in case. Hugs that's really scary.

Hi friends! Been a long day had a telehealth call then my Dad came by, I had labs this afternoon and now I'm trying to get work done for the HOA and charity and work. Fell off the wagon a bit and ate some junk, craving chocolate like crazy because of that TOTM, my visions of hitting menopause soon are dashed now that I seem to be going the opposite direction. My neighbor gave me some pumpkin plants I need to find places for but it's 105 so I'll wait until it's a bit cooler. Tomorrow's the greenhouse followed by putting signs on surrounding houses where we're having the salsa cook-off with a few other Salsa Committee members. Things haven't been resolved (the president wants to do something dishonest and I made a huge stink followed by two others agreeing with me and one came up with a reasonable alternative but no one's replying, if the dishonesty is going to take place I'm resigning). One more work day, and then I'm on vacation! It's a beautiful day here today, cool and dry. The remnants of Hurricane Debby are on the way here soon, so today is the day to enjoy the outdoors.
Tomorrow, I clean house and pack for the trip to Bangor. Rich and I are taking separate cars, because I must return a few days earlier than him. By then I'll be happy to have some time on my own.

@TeresaW2024 Yes, definitely a special occasion dish! OH dear, poor little Maggie. I'm sorry the vet didn't clear her. 6 weeks, wow, well hopefully by then everything will be good. What you are saying is true for me, too, if I break a streak, I feel like I should just stop altogether! I'm not ready to stop tracking yet but interesting.
@DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss! re: hair...I don't know if this will help, but have you tried Biotin supplements? Also, I would ask your hairdresser is he or she has any tips about it. I'm sorry that's happening. Oh gosh, that would be scary! I'm glad you were on the phone with your sister. I live in the city and I walk my dogs in the morning before it gets light. I am always scared to do it. I bring a personal alarm but still, that is not going to help much. I'm glad you are okay. Maybe you should report that to the police?

Hi all. Luckily, no cramps last night and I slept pretty well. I've got work today in the office. I'm going to wear jeans to work as I feel like relaxing a bit today. It's super humid here, in fact, yesterday it rained a bit. That is unusual as this is our dry season.

@DrewsAnna That is so scary about that man! Definitely carry your mace and keep your eyes open and your phone in your hand. If you see him again get his license plate number and call the police to have him checked out. Scary world! I feel your pain with the thinning hair! My hair started really thinning at my temples, which is a normal part of aging, but I hate it. I’ve been making a mixture of good quality cold-pressed Castor oil and Rosemary oil, and I put it on my scalp about three times a week. I let it sit for at least 30 minutes and then wash it out. I do think my temple hairs look a little bit fuller. I also put Castor oil on my eyebrows and eyelashes, and I swear it’s helping them both look fuller. Might be worth a try!

@Katmary71 Yeah, I was prepared for Maggie to be still under strict restrictions for another six weeks. I was just really hoping she could be groomed! She is much better and walking more and more on the leg. We just need to be patient. Your practitioner is right, and we should ask ourselves why we are eating something before eating it. I can’t begin to count how many times I’ve mindlessly eaten things and THEN asked the question. The goal is to ask the question first. That is terrible about the president wanting to do something dishonest. I hope it gets resolved and you won’t have to resign, but it's good for you to stick to doing what is right!

@trooworld It’s super humid here too! I swear I think yesterday was the hottest day and I had to drive home last night from our leadership meeting at 9 pm in torrential rain. Not fun! I think the whole country is just hanging on until the first sign of fall weather.
Good morning! So, another step in purging my tracking stuff happened. I had a folder of all these weight loss progress pictures I took when I lost 80 lbs. Lots of pics of me in my workout clothes and before and after pics. It was interesting to look at those pics, which I haven’t in a long time, and see how great I looked, but I was still thinking that I was so fat and looked awful. No wonder I regained the weight since I still didn’t like myself. I kept a small number of pics of myself where I looked happy and healthy. But the ones showing my body where I only judged myself are gone! Today, I’m home and will do a workout and some church work the pastor assigned me to do. Have a great day!

I am back home from the mountains, got a sunburn in the shade, so much fresh air that I am wore out. Absolutely not complaining. Weighed myself and I am up 2ish lbs. I hope it drops off by Monday. I ate really well while away. Got in some mountain hiking yesterday. Up hill both ways. 😂
