Linda, so glad the Potato Bar went well and all the other yummy foods you had, I thought College Kids would love the Baked Potatoes! The Hash Browns you make with the few potatoes you had left will make a nice meal. Glad to hear you are getting out for some walks. Have you had the staples removed yet?

Barb, happy you finally got some rain. And speaking of Rain Fall, we are under a Weather Alert with Heavy Rain and Strong Wind Warnings from tonight right through to all of Monday. I would love to see a Video of Mariposa singing. That would be so sweet. Will she sing in Cantonese or English or a mix of both languages. Barb, do you speak any Cantonese? It would be so nice seeing a Video with both Grandma and Mariposa singing together.

Susan, it would be nice for your nephew to send pictures to you of Clair! I feel for your Nephew and his wife with the adjustment of next to no sleep with Baby Clair needing lots of attention with Feeds and everything else that goes with caring for a newborn. You said they have a 2 year old, oh my they sure have their hands full. Yes Susan it brings memories back to me of those days of having a newborn in the house. You have had a full day with Ukulele practice and your Starlight Singers practice. Hope you get a good night sleep. I am sure Jasper and Archie are keeping you company.

Have a great Week ahead all! My prayers are with Marilyn, JC, Natalie and everyone here.

    Love and Hugs! ❤️🤗🙏

Hello everyone! I am new to MFP again - been years since I used it. I was on WW, but I find the MFP to be a better resource. I am down almost 50lbs so far, but still have a ways to go still. But I’m getting there! Looking to add Christian friends and excited to find this group. Please feel free to add me as a friend. Have a great day everyone, and God bless!

Susan. Thank you answering about daylight savings in Australia. Arizona where the Grnad canyon is does NOT use daylight savings time so, it’s Standard time all the time.
I cannot send the neat video of Mariposa singing a song she made up with the I love you sign language. Her song is that she loves you all the time. It’s so cute
More rain to come. Our daughter in Andover, near Wichita, KS & Branson, MO are in flood watch.
We are to get more rain I think the rain is helping the trucks marks. Now prayers that the grass seed comes up when we see the sun again.
    Prayers for all.

I am here - and this will be short but wanted to let you know I am doing as well as expected.

Begining of October I was hospitized due to pain - discovered my appendix was inflamed / infected. Doctors wont do surgery on me as I am high risk and the operation would take about 3 hours due to the radition damage from my cancer treatment years ago. They said that they don't believe my body would make it through surgery. So I was hospitalized for 2 days for high anitbotics and then sent home for 2 weeks of antibotics. Still having pain so went to see my doctor - yes the appendix is still acting up - possible have some puss build up which if that is the case you will drain that out - otherwise more meds. Waiting for the next cat scan hopefully this week.

So many parts of my body are just not working well know - but I am holding my own and they are telling me if they can get this infection under control I should be ok - but they say I am still not out of the woods so am really learning lots about leaning on God and letting me be in control. My dear husband has been such a great caregiver but it is doing a number on him also.

Please continue to pray and I will try to up date again when I have the cat scan.

It is chilly and humid for us today. Yesterday it was a misty rain on and off. One of our college students got baptized in the Colorado River and he was pretty cold coming out of the water. It will be a day he remembers for more than one reason.

I am moving around in the house pretty well so I have stopped using my walker. I do touch the furniture as I walk just to make sure I feel steady. I'm not sure I feel that safe when walking outdoors without the walker though. I do have a cane I can use but since I have to hold it in my left hand but I am right handed, it feels awkward. Thursday I get my staples out and I am looking forward to it. The tape feels really tight and it is beginning to roll up. It is also very itchy and I find myself scratching on the bandage.

Tomorrow is election day. We have already mailed in our ballot so we are done with that. I heard that mailboxes that had ballots in them was set afire in Washington State, Arizona and Oregon last week. I am afraid that who ever loses this election, will claim that the burnt ballots were for them and they lost the election by not having those ballots counted. Tonight the elders of the Denver church are having a devotional about how to have peace in this time of turmoil. They will obviously not be telling people how to vote but will help us work through feelings that may have surfaced during the past few months.

Susan it sounds like you are pretty busy with your musical practices. How does you hand feel doing the ukulele? I remember you had to stop doing it for a while to rest your hand. What part do you sing with the Starlight Singers? I wish the States would agree to not do the time change. There are several states that do not do it and it makes it confusing when times change and they do not change. Colorado voted to not do it but they need to have the OK of the "powers that be" in the government before they can implement it. Not all states are in agreement so we are caught in the middle.

Barb - I do hope that the rain will help your grass seeds sprout where the truck tires made marks on your mature grass. I look forward to the song Mariposa made up. My granddaughter did that but she was little but did not have a good ear and sang off tune. Even as a Senior in high school, she still can get a little flat when she sings.

Judith - yes, I do use foil on my baked potatoes also. Some people like to put them in the oven with the skin greased up and get a crisp exterior but the foil lets me get them in the oven and forget about them. They may not be crispy but they were delicious.

Still getting rain here & it maybe a rainy Monday night football game. KC chiefs are playing.
I haven’t checked the grass but from the window it looks good.
Today was a mass funeral. What a workout. I really have doubts that Ray, the deceased is saved. As the priest mentioned 2 or 3 times that due to Ray’s baptismal he is in heaven. Not sure where that verse is in the Bible.
It’s sad. They have 3 sons & since we only have one’s address I left a card. I. Included a Billy Graham track in it. I wish I had put John 3:16 on it too but I can pray.
There has been a catastrophe or mo re every day. Today tornadoes in Oklahoma & volcano in Indonesian
Our son told us that over 200: killed in Spain with the flooding.

Linda. Glad to, hear that you are not needing the walker. Continue prayers. The itch maybe healing like a sore on your knee when a kid it itches as it heals. 🙏🏻

Susan. So glad you have the musical practices to help break up your day. Praying for you that the 10 days without Colin go by fast for you.

Marilyn prayers for you. Praying that you can get the cat scan very soon, & they can figure out about your appendix. 🙏🏻
Faithgrl14. . Welcome. Hope you find a home here.
am Paraeast or Barb. I live in Kansas very near Kansas City no have 4 gro we married kids so I have grands & getting more.

So I took a picture of her in my video.
Prayers for all. Stay safe Judith. 🙏

Aww, Barb, Mariposa is very cute and looks very lively even in a still shot! Thank you for the picture. I am enjoying quiet time today. Colin and I have already spoken twice and will talk again when the granddaughters are home from school. I have made and frozen cupcakes, made a card, and done the washing. The towels in the house are all clean. The dogs have been keeping me company. I do miss Colin but also enjoy the rare times I have alone. I am sorry about all the natural disasters you have had affect you. And it's sad about the funerals and the unsaved. 😥

Linda, I was glad to read you are feeling more confident moving around home. Thursday can't come soon enough for you to be done with the bandages and stitches, I sm sure! I have figured out how to strum the Uke with my bad hand, so can play again even though the hand hasn't really improved. It's amazing how adaptable we can be. I sing Alto in Starlight Singers. We have a Remembrance Day performance this Monday. We're singing Advance Australia Fair (national anthem) and Amazing Grace. I am following the US election too. It sure seems like an emotional one. Praying for the Lord to have the outcome He wants.

Marilyn, it is good to hear from you, even when the health issues are challenging and hard. I am so sorry about this new infection. Now I can pray for you in a more targeted way. Keeping you close in thought and prayer.

Hello Faithgrl4. Welcome to the team! Where in the world are you situated? I am in Queensland, Australia. I'm married with three grown children who have ten children among them. I have two little dogs. Our church meets in a school gymnasium on Sundays and is online mid week on YouTube. It will be nice to learn about you.

Judith, stay warm and safe during your difficult weather. I hope it doesn't hinder you getting to your medical appointments. I hope ypu are gradually getting your unpacking done. Have you heard any more about the ramps? I still have no pictures of my new great niece. Maybe my sister will send some when she visits them at the end of the month.

Welcome Faithgr14 To our Group! It’s a pleasure to meet you. I would be happy to add you as my friend. I have to look for the a thread where I send out a Friend request. Please let us know a little more about you, whatever you feel comfortable sharing with us. As for me I live in BC Canada, I’m a widow and a Mother of 1 Son and 1 Daughter and have 4 Grandchildren, 3 Granddaughters and 1 Grandson.

I created the Group when Spark People closed down, I was a Member of Spark for 10 years. Some of our Members here are former Spark Members. Congrats on your 50 pound weight loss, keep up the great work!

Linda, so happy you are feeling comfortable with getting around in your home. Good News to hear. Hearing about the itching sounds like good healing taking place, you will be so happy to get the Staples out. Your skin will feel so much better with bandaging and staples & sutures removed! So awesome hearing about your College student being baptized in the river, with your weather turning colder the water would be cold, yes, as you said he will remember this day, first following the Lord in Water Baptism and how he felt coming out of cold water.

Barb, Mariposa is such a Sweet girl, love her smile, thank you for sharing the picture. I am sure you are so proud of her. The weather has been quite dangerous all over BC, in my area we are under a Weather Alert, Heavy Rain and Strong Winds 💨 to 100 Kilometres Debris and Leaves blowing all thru my yard, trees swaying with the Strong Gusts 💨 of Wind! The Tarp that covers one of my tables almost got blown away, had a friend put heavy planter on top which has secured the tarp. Your Prayers are appreciated.

Susan, so glad you enjoyed a quiet time today. Happy you are able to keep in touch with Colin. When your Granddaughters come home from school are you able to chat with them also? Hope the weekly Vet visits and the steroid and antibiotics are helping Jasper? Please keep us posted. My prayers continue. You asked about the ramps. Nothing has been done yet. I will have to get in touch with the Manager who was overseeing his Men who were doing the renovations and see when they will be built and
installed. Still need prayer about our dangerous weather. I posted detailed Weather Alert on Prayer Request Thread.

Marilyn, welcome back; it was so good seeing you here but saddened to read all about your health challenges. So sorry you have been so sick and were in hospital with an inflamed infected Appendix. My heart goes out to you that you are in much pain and Doctors are not able to do surgery but glad they are treating with
antibiotics. Praying your body will respond and you will recover & heal from the infected
Appendix. We all love you Marilyn and hold you close to our hearts and in our prayers.

JC and Sandi prayers continue for you both as we all pray one for the other.

Love & Prayers to all. ❤️🙏

Good morning. I just gave Jasper his antibiotics and fed both dogs. Judith, Jasper is back to his barky, playful, loving self but is still on antibiotics and steroids. He sees the Vet nurse again tomorrow so we'll see what she says. I am grooming him today, as much as he will let me. I do hope the weather there gets no worse. 🙏 Thank you for the update on your ramps. Yes, Colin rings me when the girls get home from school so we can all chat. I love that time.

I have a busy day today, cleaning, washing, dog grooming, c7raft class preparation then Once Upon a Time rehearsal. I should drive to the shops and check my PO Box but maybe that can happen after the Vet nurse tomorrow. It is going to be another hot day as it was yesterday.

Everyone is fine & Ive not heard of any natural disasters a today.

Susan praying for you as you miss Colin. So glad that twitch technology you can keep in touch.
Think of all the stories you will hear when Colin returns home. At least with daylight savings out there you have we ore daylight then us.
I can’t get use to the sunsetting so early.

Continued prayers for Linda & her healing.

    Judith
How did you make out? Weather wise.
My sister sent a picture of where the cruises dock & the ocean swirling in the wind. She lives in Victoria BC.
Prayers for your ramp. Any news about that? 🙏🏻

    Faithgirl14.
I have 4 kids with 7 grands. 2 more will come one coming the day before my 70 bday. Hong Hing ddil, is having another girl so a sister for Mariposa. Se is due 12/26 but with 2 ectopic pregnancies, so they adopted an embryo & cannot go for 40 weeks. Or full term.
She needs to take a class about gestational diabetes. I don’t know anyone who eats healthier than HH. She eats lots of fish hardly any sugar. Even got peanut butter with no sugar., no candy & Reese’s candy is too sweet for her.

    All in God’s hands.
Prayers for Sandi & Marilyn too.

Marilyn - I was so good to hear from you. I had been wondering how you are doing. This update helps give details to help me pray more specifically. How is the rest of your family doing?

Welcome to our group Faithgrl4. My name is Linda and I live on the Western slope of Colorado. I have been married for 51 years, have 3 children and 5 grandchildren aged for 4 to 17. I would love to be your friend. I will send you a request.

Susan - sounds like you are enjoying your time alone but are looking forward to be united with Colin. Phone calls are good but face to face is so much better. I'm glad Jasper is feeling better. I hope you get a good report from the vet visit.

Judith - are you able to get to appointments even if you do not have your ramp yet? I am praying for your weather to calm down. Stay safe please.

Barb - Mariposa' s picture is so sweet. Does she realize that she is going to be a big sister?

Two Bible studies and therapy today have taken up a lot of my day. My therapist said he thought I was ahead of myself on healing and flexibility. It has been two weeks since my surgery.

We are watching the election returns tonight. It is a pretty close race and neither candidate is the perfect choice. I pray that God's will be done in this case. Colorado has passed the amendment to OK abortion and also to see gay marriage the same status as a Godly marriage. It is sad to see these pass but not everyone sees life the way I do. They need God in their lives to see that all life is precious.

Barb, thank you for asking after me, the Storm has calmed but not completely gone in some areas. Today it was dark with clouds filling the sky, temps of 50 and lows of 38 degrees. You sure got an idea of what the storm was like when you saw the ocean swirling around in the wind with your Sister sending the picture. It is scary when the Oceans are affected in the storms as the Waves get so high. At the peak of the storm most of the Ferry’s were cancelled as the waters were too touch for safe sailings. You asked about my ramps, nothing has been done yet. I had a good cry over it but as soon as I cried I felt God wrap His Arms around me in Peace ☮️ and Love ❤️

Linda, such Good News to hear your therapist said you were ahead in your recovery with the flexibility you have. Praise God. You sure had a full day with two Bible Studies and your therapy! Hope you get a good rest tonight. Thanks for your prayers regarding the weather, you can read above the report I gave to Barb. About the Ramps, I can still get to my appointments as I can go out the 1 Door that takes me through the Condo building hallway to the Door to the outside. The danger is if that entrance way were blocked in a fire I would be trapped inside my condo until help came.

Susan, sounds like a busy day with grooming Jasper and having the Vet Nurse come to check Jasper, your cleaning, your rehearsal, craft preparation, washing etc, so glad Colin calls you when Grandkids come home from school so you can talk to Colin and your both granddaughters. Could you tell me what the girls names are please. Praying for your weather and trusting it doesn’t get any hotter there.

Prayers continue for JC Sandi and Marilyn! 🙏😇

Judith. We all will continue to pray for your ramp. Thank you for th update. I hope today you have calmer skies & weather. 🙏🏻

    Linda
So glad that your healing is going so good and you have flexibility better I’m sure too! Does your therapy leave you tired & in pain? Prayers. 🙏🏻

Susan continued prayers for you with musical practices card making & Jasper. May you find with keeping busy that Colin is back home very soon. Enjoy the calls and perhaps seeing them with Face time or whatever you can use. 🙏🏻

Prayers for Sandi, Marilyn & new member Faithgirl. Plus JC.

My backyard is looking better after all the rain we have had. The grass is green again & I don’t see as many truck tires from when they put in the electric, pole almost 2 weeks ago & used our yard. I’ve even seen some new grass coming up. Just one area where a machine sat for some time. I know we out lots of grass seed down there maybe? More rain Friday night.

Today Mariposa is taking a nap so that is nice. She was tired.

We are so a happy here that Trump won last night plus the Republican maintain control oh the senate. Now I hope for the house so we don’t get Impeach him like last time. I did read that Jack Smith cases are thrown out PTL on that.
    🙏🏻

Judith, my granddaughters are Ruby and Evie. I am taking Jasper to the Vet this morning. The Vet nurse doesn't do house calls. 🙂 I have a card class this afternoon and one to run at a friend's place tomorrow night. Only three more sleeps till Colin is back home. Praying for you about your medical appointments and the condo issues.

Linda, that's great news from your Dr. You must be doing everything right! That's great! Yes, technology is great for communicating but in person is better. I am managing fine but it will feel right when Colin returns.

Barb, we don't have daylight savings where I live. The weather is warming up and summer is coming so there's lots of daylight hours. My night blooming cactus loves these hot, sunny conditions. It bloomed last night. The blossoms only last a day.

We woke up this morning to snow on the grass but it melted quickly. My son in the Denver area, had 8 inches of snow when he woke up and they are expecting more today. I am praying that we do not have snow on the roads as we drive to the clinic to have my stitches removed. I have therapy at 10:40 for 40 minutes then we drive for 2 hours to the clinic and then drive home and had an elder's meeting on zoom from Denver.

Barb - the therapy does stretch my abilities to move my joints and at times it may be painful. I have been told that on a scale of 1 to 10, do not let the pain be beyond a 6 or for it to last more than 24 hours. Some days the aches of the muscles do keep me awake and I have to take a pain pill but most of the time I can handle the pain. We went to Planet Fitness today to use their exercise equipment. I did the recumbent exercise bike for 10 minutes and walked slowly on the treadmill for 10 more minutes. It felt good to do some exercise for an extended period of time.

Judith - I am so sad that your ramp has caused you so much distress. It is a law here in the states that there needs to be two exits from a house in case of an emergency. You certainly do not have that. I pray that this will be resolved soon.

Susan - We have another thing in common now- we are both alto's. When I was in college I was in a traveling trio that would visit churches to sing while a staff member would preach and talk about how the students should come be students at our college. I sang alto which harmonized with the second soprano. I enjoyed the times I had to sing and travel. I pray that Jasper's vet visit went well today. Your night blooming cactus is very pretty. Does it have multiple blooms or just one and if you miss it, you miss the whole blooming time?

Marilyn, JC and Sandie - thinking and praying for you also.

Susan, thank you for letting me know the names of your Granddaughters, such pretty names. I love the names of Ruby and Evie. Thinking of you taking Jasper to the Vet Nurse to be checked. Sounds good, just 3 more sleeps and Colin is back home. I am sure you can hardly wait to see Colin. Love your Blooming Cactus Flower that is in Full Bloom. Gorgeous Bloom! I sure can see that the Cactus loves the heat. “Wow” so sad the Bloom only lasts one day. Thanks for your prayers and mine are with you.

Linda, it’s amazing you are waking up to snow in your area. Please be careful when you are outside if it’s slippery out. Thanks for sharing about your laws as we do too. I am contacting the company regarding the ramp not being put back. My back up plan is to contact my Community Rehab Specialist at the Health Unit and my MLA who holds a Government office in my area. I am trusting for results soon. Hope your Elders meeting on Zoom went well and the Therapy you had went well. My prayers are with you.

Barb, thanks for sharing your Moon Flowers that just Bloom for 1 night. Such a beautiful flower and it’s so sad it only Blooms for only 1 night. So glad to hear your grass is greener after all that rain you had. And the best part you are not seeing the tire tracks on the lawn now that the grass is
growing back in. And thank you Barb for the prayers regarding my ramp and yes my weather has improved, the Winds have calmed right down and there is no more rain!

My thoughts and prayers are with Marilyn, JC and Sandi.

I sent a Friend Request to you Faithgr14 earlier today. Hope you receive it, let me know. You will see my name as 316Judith so you will know it’s me, Judith .

Barb, your Thanksgiving cactus looks like my Zygocactus! I have a white one and others that are pink, purple and salmon. They are so pretty. Your Moon flower looks a lot like our Morning Glory, too. Yes, two more Get Ups till Colin gets home.

Sadly, my night blooming cactus is drooping and spent today. Sometimes I get several blooms at once, Judith, but they all only last 24 hrs. I do love my granddaughters' names. I have 3 more granddaughters, Abbey, Charley and Inara. My grandsons are Ethan, Kyle, Levi and Ryder. I love all of their names.

Linda, I am relieved you can exercise and get your stitches out today! Yay! I hope you aren't doing too much with all the driving and commitments today. Take care. How amazing that we are both altos! Yes, I do miss the cactus blooms if I don't notice them on the day. Orchids last beautifully though, like these yellow and pink beauties:

    5f9h4dsqg6uo.jpg

Jasper got a good report yesterday and his next visit isn't for a month. Double yay! He needs to take steroids for another couple of days but finished his antibiotics.

Your orchid kind of looks like my orchid plant. I have one right now it is not blooming but getting leaves to, bloom in the spring. Guess it’s spring for you Susan so maybe why blooming. They are nice as the blooms last so long.
I’ve never heard of the Zygocactus. I do have a peachy pear cactus that I can keep outside. They grow in Wyoming & have a yellow flower.

So you got your stitches out Linda. Continued prayers.

Judith thank you for all you do

Faithgirl I hope we hear from you.

Today was a long day! Therapy said I was doing well but worked my pretty hard. I then had the two hour drive to the doctor office. I was wearing my leg squeezers to keep the circulation going in my legs as we travel. I will need to wear them for any long travel day for a while. My doctor (really a physician assistant) was not happy that therapy told me not to wear my support hoes because it was causing my legs to become more swollen and bruised. I was not comfortable being in the middle of their "feud". The therapist told me that the doctors (in general) are not up to date on the data and that the stockings do not do any good. The Physician Assistant told me that I do need to wear them for at least one more week but did agree that they may be overprotective but they have seen clot problems in their patients because the surgery was done at a higher altitude than the patient was accustomed to. My bruising and swelling did quickly go away after I stopped wearing the support hoes but I did not mention it to the PA. The waterproof tape on the skin covering my incision caused some bleeding when he tried to take it off. My skin is irritated and fragile so he had to be very careful. The steri strips he put on it will fall off in a few days so we will see what the skin looks like underneath them. The traffic was good and the roads were great traveling. We got home after dark so I may not be here very long so I can go to bed.

A new storm is coming in to Denver and a disaster alert has been announced. They are expecting 7-14 inches of snow. All three of our children live in the Denver area so we are watching the storm carefully. The schools have already announced that they are closed tomorrow for the children's safety. Prayers are appreciated for what ever happens tomorrow. I am glad that we are nice and safe here on the other side of the mountains.

Barb - my cactus is having a lot of buds form but I do not know if it is a Christmas or Thanksgiving cactus. I remember you and Susan discussing the difference but I have forgotten. I may need to go back through this thread to see which one I have. You asked if our snow was early for us. We have had snow as early as mid-October and as late as after Thanksgiving before so I do not have a "normal" time. We barely get an inch or two all Winter which melts very quickly when we do get it. We do have really cold weather but not much snow.

Susan - thanks for sharing your flower pictures. I wish your night blooming cactus would last longer but I am glad that your orchids stay around a long time. Great news about Jasper! Will you need to take him in every month to be checked?

Susan, love the names of all your Grandchildren, the Boys and Girls. Thanks for sharing all 9 of your Grandkids names. You are surely blessed, you have a Quiver full of Grandchildren.

The word “Quiver” reminded me of the Scripture taken from Psalm 127:3-5
Typing from Verse 3 to Verse 5

    3. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord
The fruit of the womb is His reward
    4. Like arrows in the hand of the warrior
So are the children of one’s youth
    5. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of
    them.
They shall not be ashamed but shall speak with
    their enemies in the gate.

Love the photo of your Orchids, they are Gorgeous. The yellow and pink blooms are so pretty. So happy to see the great report on Jasper and he doesn’t have another appointment for a month away, good news he is off his antibiotics and will stay on steroids for another 2 days. I rejoice with you on this awesome report! Your Zygocactus are beautiful, so sorry your Night Blooming Cactus is no longer upright but sadly is drooping! ☹️

Barb, I’d love to see your Thanksgiving Cactus, I am sure it is a Gorgeous Cactus. So happy to hear it is starting to bloom. I look forward to seeing your Christmas Cactus too. My Christmas cactus is growing in leaps and bounds but so far no blooms are showing. Hope it blooms for Christmas. Thank you for your kindness in thanking me for all that I do. Really, it really isn’t that much that I do. I am thankful for you and all the gals who do a lot here too. Indeed you are all a blessing in which I thank God.

Linda, sounds like you had a difficult therapy session with being worked very hard. Sorry your skin is reacting to all the tape holding the dressings on. Trust the steri-strips don’t cause any further irritations. It’s probably wise not to get in the middle of Doctor and Physio discussing the pros and cons of wearing support hose. My prayers are with you for healing and that you will get a good rest tonight. Sorry to hear about the storm coming or as you said they are under a Disaster Alert with expecting 7 to 14 inches of snow in Denver where 3 of your children live. It’s good they are keeping the children home from school. Trusting your children and grandchildren will be kept safe.

I was on early Thursday morning and was hoping to get back in the evening. A lot was going on so I didn’t get back until after midnight. Hope you all have a good rest and May your Friday be blessed. As for me it’s now after 2am so this gal is heading to bed now. Hope you be back later! 🙏🤗😇

Judith, what a late night for you! I hope you slept well after you went to bed! I am grateful for all you do, too. Especially for getting us together in the first place. Yes, it is good news about Jasper. The cactus will bloom again. The droopy photo I took shows a little red thing to the right? That little shoot will bear the next blooms, probably this week. Once it blooms the plant is like a firecracker! It vigorously blooms for a few weeks then is dormant the rest of the year! I love the Bible verses that my grandchildren names brought to mind. ❤️

Linda, glad you have medical experience of your own and didn't get involved in the debate about support hose! I hope the skin recovers nicely now the tape is off except for the steri strips. Sorry to hear about the disastrous storms over the mountains. Will pray your children are safe. That's a lot of snow. About Jasper. It's a bit of a wait and see situation. I think he is recovering better than expected, but I may need to take him for monthly check ups with the Vet nurse, unless they can teach me to do the procedure instead. It won't be the most pleasant thing to learn to do but I will do it for my dogs.

Card class was tiring last night but so fun! The 6 girls are all old friends. We laughed a lot and caught up we with each other's news. I didn't get card photos as I was helping them craft, but it was a good night. We're meeting up for another card class in January.

Today I will groom the dogs, run some errands, put on the wash, and get back into my craft room to start prep for the next classes I am running. I have 4 regular groups now. It keeps me busy!

    One more get up, Barb!

I got a video of after the election on Tuesday & Trump won, the crowd around Trump, sang “How great thou Art.” It’s on google. It’s great. Susan, I love your cactus plant!!!
. The Thanksgiving plant leaves have sharp edges. & Christmas cactus are smooth.
They need cool temps & 12-14 hours of darkness. Not much watering till buds form. I’m watering once a week or so.
Hope that helps you. More & more Thanksgiving cactus are blooming more & more each day.

Susan guess it’s this weekend Colin comes home PTL.

Linda so sorry for long & painful therapy session. Prayers. Are you in less pain yet? . Prayers you sleep ok tonight.
So sorry about all the snow you are getting. We hear about it & I 70 was closed to at one
    time.
Prayers. I know western Kansas has gotten some snow also.
    We will get rain.
Harry mowed today & you can still see the the truck tire marks from the electric pole they put up 2 weeks ago.
I do have some grass coming up so I put more grass seed down tonight as we will get the rain after midnight.

Prayers for all. Please keep us posted Judith on your ramp situation.
    Prayers for all.

Today was a day to be grateful. We have been so distracted trying to keep the house going, Glenn doing his job for the school and taking care of me. This morning I finally got my winter clothes down from storage and I now have nice long sleeved blouses to wear instead of keeping a blanket around my shoulders or wearing a jacket. Last night my CPAP machine was blowing cold air into my nose and when I was not breathing, it was blowing cold air under the covers. I finally got up and put on more clothes which helped. When I got up and saw what I had put on in the dark, I realize that my clothing choices did not match but at least I was warm. I also wore the support stockings today so the PA should be glad. ☺️
My children said the snow was not too bad in their part of town but it was supposed to get worse after 6pm. Snow can be spotty with some getting a lot an others getting none. I heard some areas of Denver had 7 inches during the day. My son works for the fire department of Denver as a mechanic who keeps the trucks running well. He does not mind driving in the snow and is really needed at work so he does not get snow days.

Today was a slow day - we try to keep one day a week as a catch up day or a rest day. I spent time cutting out quilt squares. I did at least 200 squares but still have a lot to go to make the queen quilt. It will be a 9 patch quilt and I have almost all the plain squares I need. Now I need to do the patterned squares to make the blocks. It has been a bigger project than I thought in the beginning. I will be glad to finish it in memory of Glenn's grandma who started this quilt many years ago. I am not sure what pattern she planned to do but a lot of the squares were made from the denim that was probably from her families old overalls.

Barb - you asked about my pain. When I am sitting, I have no pain at all. When I sit too long, I am pretty stiff trying to get my steps going but once I limber up, I can walk well with only some soreness in my thigh area. When you said people around Trump were singing "How Great Thou Art" that inspired me. God is the one that is in control of the country and I have been a bit concerned with the direction the country was going. I appreciate that he wants to make changes to increase our national security as well as protect our rights. I am not wanting to have this become a political rant - I am just glad the election is over and we can all get back to what we were doing.

Judith - you certainly were up late! I, like Susan, hope that you were able to sleep later to get some good rest. Thanks for the healthy recipe today. I am not excited about eating a lot of fish but this recipe sounds like it would nice to try for Glenn who loves salmon.

Thank you everyone, my day got extremely busy as head person from strata contacted me regarding paint spillage and no ramps in place. They were extremely upset nothing has been done to rectify the damage. They are going to get in touch with someone higher up and will get back to me Wednesday. They were upset that someone here said it wasn’t his problem and brushed it off. Will keep you posted. Sorry with dealing with strata I didn’t get a rest today so I need to go to bed now. Will be back tomorrow!

I posted your Devotion and will catch up with your news in the morning after I get a good night sleep. God Bless you all! ❤️🙏

Judith, it sounds like you now have an Advocate to get your ramps in place and the paint damage fixed! I'm glad about that. Yes, get some rest! Hugs!

Linda, I was glad to hear the pain from your surgery is so manageable now. It sounds like you are feeling better and wow about cutting out 200 quilt squares! I would love to see the quilt you make eventually. I'm relieved your family is safe after the snow storms. It sure sounds like it has become cold with you needing your winter clothing. Meanwhile it's definitely turning into summer here.

Barb, my cactus plants have soft points so they must be Christmas cactii. I couldn't say they are sharp, but the points happen all along the leaves. Mine bloom each year. The Desert Roses are the ones that haven't bloomed yet. I'll get a picture of them for you one day. Yes, Colin does indeed come home today. First I'm going to church, then this afternoon I drive to the airport to pick him up. 😊

The dogs are telling me they want breakfast. I need to get ready for church too, so will say bye for now.

What a relief that someone is trying to help you Judith. This should have happened a long time ago. I pray that you did get a good rest last night.

Susan - You are getting on here really early! I saw you were posting two hours earlier than I usually see you. I hope it is just excitement about Colin coming home and not that you have insomnia.

I had a really good rest last night and am having a lot less pain today. As I said in the prayer request thread, each day gets a little better and more mobile. I am not using a walker or cane now to walk with and if I can just get over the stiffness when I first get up, I am feeling pretty independent. It is amazing how God made our bodies to heal themselves and to adapt to changes.

Our grandson sent us a picture of the snowman they made from all the snow they got in Denver. They did not get as much as they expected but plenty to made snow angels and other things. Today is warmer than earlier in the week and I think the snow has gone to the Eastern states now from our house in GJ.

Praying for you all! Have a great weekend.
