Food inspiration, or what's for supper?

Absolutely NOT what I was expecting :) For some reason other than my sitcom reference I was thinking something along the lines of Hostess Cupcakes. 😅

I'm going to make some BC equivalents of the jersey royals for today to add to the left over (and logged into yesterday... so calories free 🤣🤣🤣) egg salad! (But I did transfer in 400 Cal of cookies from yesterday into today🤯🙄😳🙄 to compensate for the "free" egg salad!🤣)

920g of Warba are boiling!🤔

Geez now we’re doing “designer” potatoes! None of which are available here. But my grocery carries several varieties of sweet potatoes 🍠, yams and purple potatoes.
Does that count?

Purple are beautiful💜

Now I want purple!

Well u r a tricky one Ms Yakky! The craisins you were using made me buy a bag of craisins…. but I forgot to check their calories ;-) Running at about 3 Cal per gram! But that's OK… they get nice and plum ;-)
Less than young and crispy apples 630g, craisins 50g, cognac 25g, 1g cinnamon, 0.5g (or less) sucralose drops …. nuke, leave covered to finish cooking, refrigerate…. eat!
That's about a half of them 'cause the rest run away!

Roast dinner today - there will be no leftovers as both lads here this weekend 😉🤣

Are we getting any of your roast beast here?😝

Apples, yum! That would be awesome as a filling, a topping or stir-in! In dressing, tapenade, over porkchops. Now I need to hunt apples to go with my craisins, lol
Thawing beef to crockpot tomorrow. Or may do the large tabletop slowcooker again with the ham, mixed beans and potatoes for a weeks meals.

Beef patty smothered under sauteed mushrooms/onions and baby swiss

Ha! IS that "great" minds think alike—ISH (the ish is important) :-)
mushrooms — check!
swiss cheese — one slice — check!
onions — check!
(the rest is not quite the same!) 130g black forest ham, 340g cauliflower rice, crave macaroni and cheese with bacon 530 Cal little bomb….Mix it all together…. for a couple of meals!

Pav, when the kids were younger and I was low carbing it (my last major weight loss, 2014-15ish) I used to make a chicken cordon blue cauliflower rice casserole. Everyone loved it but I cannot for the life of me find the recipe.
It had cauliflower rice, ham, chicken, Swiss cheese (made into a sauce with dijon mustard) etc

Hmmm.... Mac part of mac and cheese would lose the battle but the rest???🤔

A small oh henry accident means that night time dinner / snack calories are pretty limited!
But I still have half my apples from yesterday and they are already logged!
I see apples with yogurt in the near future!😎

I prefer a Mr. Big to an O'Henry, but one part at least that is easier here in the US than Canada is that the quick grab chocolate/candy bars at checkouts is so inferior to Canadian options that it's easier to turn down. No Coffee Crisp, no Aero, no Skor, no Mr. Big, no Caramilk or Dairymilk with the almonds in it.

“No Coffee Crisp, no Aero…… no Caramilk or Dairymilk with the almonds in it”
OMG … unbearable 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t know what Skor, Mr Big are … & we get Toffee Crisp here …. Would like a Coffee one though😋

Coffee Crisp is awesome and so are Skor bars. But I can eat fairly unlimited amounts of both.
Mr Big was my go to until recently. Large enough that I would stop at one! 🤪
But Oh Henry has peanuts and I've noticed that it has slightly more lasting / staying power with me.
Eat-more would qualify but the peanuts are less crunchy. It's up there for me!
Charleston chews used to be my other "slow things down a bit" . Slow down is good but mean to the dog 🤷♂️
Hmmm I think I'm perhaps too familiar with some of these products

You know I've seen at least a couple of fig products that basically use compressed figs.
I wonder if dried figs would go through the KitchenAid and come out usable with maybe some cocoa powder and chopped nuts thrown in as an alternative to some of the other candies 😳🤷♂️

Works in my mind's eye

(pre-?)summer cold… achy head to toe stage, but not covid!
soaking some mixed beans overnight to add-in for better fiber while I do soup this week.
Are those edamame(sp?) Look like some I was looking at TraderJoes the other day. Have not tried them

Out for pub grub … so much easier to plan when the eatery has a menu, with approx calories, on line. Already decided on the seabass & veg 550 kcals or so.

Tonight and tomorrow will be BBQ chicken pizza with a side salad.
Thursday and Friday will be air fryer chicken parmesan, spaghetti, and broccoli.

Speedy recovery @yakkystuff I hear there is increased COVID in California. May or may not make sense to re-test a second time.
Pub grub and Jade plan sound like mindful choices!👍
We shall see about mine today. I'm not sure I'll get to my second already prepared rice/quinoa/veggie/cauli rice/edamame container today as there is talk of eating out!
Yesterday's container allowed me to painlessly retire about 102g of previously incurred cookies debt 🤪🤣🤪🤣

Here fishy fishy chippie chippie 🙄 f&c outing confirmed!
"Only" questions: scale or no scale, full or light batter or flour only, one or two plates of chips, mushy peas or slaw with or without dressing... ketchup is a given. Tartar is a question! Yes bun w/one butter or no bun! Beer or diet Pepsi???? 🤪 I guess I'll just have to bring out the calculator😂🤣
